Lu Yang thought for a moment and said, "It's still early. It'll be more convenient for me to drive. Let's go pick up your mom now and go look at houses together."
Qi Kang nodded. Lu Yang went back to pick up Tan Juan and then headed straight to the property they had their eye on.
The environment of this community is very good. Although the property management fee is expensive, the security is very good, and the environment and supporting facilities in the community are also good.
Just as Qi Kang said, as long as he doesn't want Tan Juan to come in, Tan Juan can't come in.
Even if Tan Juan managed to get in through tricks, the security guards would kick her out.
Tan Juan was very satisfied with the place. After discussing it with Qi Kang, they bought a 73-square-meter apartment at 1,300 yuan per square meter. With the handling fee, the total cost was 96,000 yuan.
Lu Yang stayed here for two days to help them complete the formalities before going to see Bai Yiyi with Cheng Lin.
Bai Yiyi told Xu to watch the shop, and said with a smile, "Let's go to the warehouse and get another batch of appliances!"
Lu Yang hesitated for a moment: "Won't this be too much trouble for you?"
Bai Yiyi smiled and said, "Just give me a little tip for my trouble. Don't worry, I'll pick it up over there myself. You can mail the goods back to me together later."
Lu Yang nodded, took out a thousand yuan from his bag, and handed it to Bai Yiyi.
Why are you so honest?
Bai Yiyi looked at the thousand yuan in her hand and said speechlessly.
Lu Yang said seriously, "Even close brothers should keep clear accounts."
Bai Yiyi shrugged and said, "Alright, you guys go back and rest first. I'll come find you tomorrow morning."
Lu Yang smiled and pulled Cheng Lin back to Zhengjia Village.
The next morning, they took Bai Yiyi to the electronics factory's warehouse and successfully obtained a batch of goods.
Lu Yang and Cheng Lin's money was almost entirely tied up in goods, so they didn't linger and headed straight back north.
I was gone for half a month, and when I returned, the weather in the north had warmed up.
The two had rented a warehouse long ago, and after unloading the goods, they were both exhausted.
They forced themselves to load a cart full of clothes and delivered them back to Chu Xiangyu before going home.
When Lu Yang opened the door, he was surprised to find his grandmother sitting in his living room.
There were still many broken pieces of porcelain on the floor. Lu's mother was sweeping the floor, her face gloomy.
Grandma Lu sat calmly on the sofa watching TV, making a lot of noise that Lu Yang could hear from outside the door.
Upon seeing Lu Yang enter, Grandma Lu immediately greeted him with a smile: "Grandson, Grandma has come to see you!"
Lu Yang closed the door, took off his shoes, walked to the sofa, and turned off the TV: "I'm going to sleep. You can watch it when I wake up!"
Lu's mother quickly asked with concern, "Are you hungry? I'll make you a bowl of noodles."
"Make me a bowl too, with a poached egg."
Old Mrs. Lu immediately gave the order.
She dared not be bossy towards Lu Yang, because Lu Yang really would kick her out.
Lu Yang pulled his mother aside and said, "No need, I ate on the way."
Lu's mother followed Lu Yang into his bedroom, and asked with concern, "Do you want to take a bath? I'll run the water for you."
Lu Yang took off his shoes, lay wearily on the bed, and didn't say anything.
Lu's mother quickly covered herself with the blanket, quietly left the room, and closed the door.
Grandma Lu stood in the living room, pursed her lips, and said, "She acted as if she didn't see me at all, her face was as sour as the bottom of a pot."
Lu's mother said cautiously, "The child is too tired. He drove all the way back from the south without resting, and it took two days to drive."
Grandma Lu was taken aback, clearly unable to imagine how far that place was.
She simply didn't ask, but continued to nitpick: "Then why did he come back empty-handed?"
Where did he get the money?
Mrs. Lu immediately became alert and quickly replied evasively, "The money must have all been used to collect the goods; there's no cash."
Grandma Lu immediately raised her voice: "Do you think I'm a fool?"
Lu's mother quickly shushed, "Don't wake Yangzi!"
"They went to such great lengths to come south, so of course they need to bring back a lot of goods, enough to sell for several months."
"Starting from scratch, we didn't have much money to begin with, so how could we possibly have any extra money to bring back? We'll only have money if we sell the goods."
These were all things Yao Lili taught Lu's mother, fearing that Lu's mother wouldn't be able to handle it when the old lady asked for money.
Grandma Lu was skeptical, but she was really afraid that Lu Yang would wake up and forcibly send her away.
As it was getting dark, Yao Lili bought groceries and came home from get off work.
Lu Xing and Lu Yue rushed back after school, but none of the three looked happy.
"Lili, Yangzi is back and sleeping in his room. Please keep your voices down and don't wake him."
Lu's mother quickly reminded her.
Yao Lili and the other two immediately brightened up, their eyes crinkling as they asked, "When did he get back?"
"Around 10 a.m.
Lu's mother answered softly.
Yao Lili immediately took the pig's head to the kitchen and chopped it up: "He'll be awake soon, let's get him something good to eat."
Lu Xing and Lu Yue also quickened their pace, putting down their schoolbags to help get chopsticks and bowls.
The more Grandma Lu looked, the more uncomfortable she felt. She wasn't blind, and of course she could tell that this family didn't welcome her.
I didn't kick her out before only out of consideration for her feelings and because I didn't want to make things too ugly.
They were happier than if it were New Year's when Lu Yang came back, and the thought of it made her feel suffocated.
After the food was served, Yao Lili quietly opened the bedroom door and went in.
Lu Yang turned over and groggily opened his eyes.
"Come here and give me a hug."
Lu Yang waved to her and said.
Yao Lili blushed slightly, but she quickly walked to Lu Yang's side, bent down and hugged him.
Lu Yang dragged Yao Lili onto the bed, stroked her hair, and took out a pair of red, diamond-encrusted strawberry-shaped earrings from his bag.
