Chapter 114 The Kind Driver

"Are these two women the main murderers, or just accomplices?" Yuan Mengge walked a short distance away from the two women, glancing at them out of the corner of her eye, and asked the system.

The system just said "successfully murdered for money eight times", but it didn't directly say they killed eight people, which means it's possible that they weren't the ones who did the killings.

However, the two of them set up honey traps a total of 48 times, which means they had been doing it for a long time.

Both women were very beautiful and had great figures. Although it was cold, they were wearing thick clothes that accentuated their waists and chests.

She has a great figure and a beautiful face, so almost every man who passes by will take a second look.

However, the spot she chose was sparsely populated, and there were hardly any passersby around.

The two stood by the roadside, looking at both ends of the road, as if they were waiting for a bus.

A taxi arrived shortly afterward, and the two immediately reached out to hail one.

The taxi stopped when it saw a passenger flagging it down.

The two women naturally got into the car.

Watching the two leave in the car, Yuan Mengge wasn't in a hurry, since there was still an hour and a half until the incident.

She stood by the roadside for half an hour, and only after a taxi that already had a passenger passed by did she finally get a second empty taxi.

"Driver, is it far to Liuyangpo?" she asked the driver as soon as she got into the car.

"Yes, it's not far, it'll only take half an hour." The driver realized she was a girl, and quite young, when he heard her voice.

When I first saw her standing there, I thought she was a man.

"Little sister, aren't you scared taking a taxi alone so late at night? It's too dangerous for a girl to be out alone at night," the driver said to her.

"I'm not scared." Yuan Mengge sat back down and fastened her seatbelt.

As the car drove out of the city and into the suburbs, the roadside environment became dark and desolate.

"Driver, just drop me off at the Liuyangpo intersection in a bit," Yuan Mengge said to the driver.

"What? The intersection? The intersection is quite far from Liuyangpo, and it's in the middle of nowhere, plus it's so dark. What if something happens?" The driver, who was in his forties, said with some disapproval when he heard her words.

“It’s alright, Master, just drop me off there. I’ll take responsibility for anything that happens; it’s none of your business,” Yuan Mengge said.

The driver still disagreed, saying, "Oh, sister, it's not about being responsible or not. I'm worried about you getting into trouble, you know? You're still so young, you have a long life ahead of you. We can't let anything happen to you here."

"Driver, I really need to get off here. I have something to take care of. Don't worry, I'll take good care of myself and nothing will happen." Yuan Mengge didn't expect the driver to be such a nice person, so she patiently told him.

"Are you really going to get off? Why won't you listen to advice?" the driver sighed and frowned.

Yuan Mengge smiled and said, "It's alright, Master. Don't worry, I really want to get off there."

When the driver realized he couldn't persuade her, he had no choice but to let her off at the intersection.

It's another two kilometers or so from the intersection to Liuyangpo village. That road is a mountain road, dark and desolate, and robberies, kidnappings, rapes, and murders often occur there.

This little girl looks to be only ten years old. If she encounters bad people on this road at such a young age, she might survive, or she might lose her life here.

The road leading in is all dirt road, with weeds and rocks more than a meter high on both sides.

Women are frequently dragged into that bush, assaulted, and brutally murdered.

"Sister, think about it again. How about I take you to the village? It's too dangerous for you to get off here alone! How about I take you in for free? I won't charge you for this part of the journey." The driver still didn't want to give up and tried to persuade her.

He really couldn't let it go. After all, it was too dangerous. He couldn't just leave a girl in danger in such a place knowing that she would be in danger.

If something were to really happen to this child, his conscience would be very uneasy.

Yuan Mengge said, "No need! Thank you, Master! You're a good person, but you don't need to worry about me! Really, you don't need to! Don't worry, I'll be fine! Trust me!"

Although the driver was a very nice person, she was there to complete a task; normally she would have listened to him.

After hearing her say that, the driver thought for a moment and suddenly asked, "What business do you have here? It's so dark... do you really have to come to a place like this to run a errand?"

Yuan Mengge: "I'm here to rescue someone. A taxi driver might be murdered here."

Upon hearing this, the driver exclaimed, "What? You're here to rescue someone? Why didn't you say so earlier? Are you here to rescue a taxi driver?"

Hearing that they were there to rescue people, he parked his car on the side of the road and got out with Yuan Mengge.

Yuan Mengge looked at him and asked, "Master, are you coming with me? It will be dangerous."

The driver said, "If there's danger, I'll definitely go with you! How can a girl like you handle this? I'll go with you. Aren't you going to rescue people? Count me in; one more person means one more force."

Yuan Mengge looked at him, thought for a moment, and said, "Okay, uncle, you watch me for a while, and then you act accordingly, okay?"

The driver nodded and asked, "Where is he? The taxi driver you mentioned who was supposed to be harmed? What's going on? How do you know he'll be harmed?"

Yuan Mengge looked around and said, "I just saw two women get into a taxi. I have a feeling that those two women are not good people. They might be the kind of people who call a taxi to a remote place like this, and then a few men will appear to help them kidnap, rob, and steal the car, and finally kill them to cover their tracks."

Upon hearing this, the driver immediately said to her sternly, "Why didn't you call the police? You should have called the police first! Instead of trying to be a hero and running over here by yourself!"

Yuan Mengge said, "I'm not sure if that's the case either. Besides, if I go to the police station and bring the officers here, by the time they get here, the person might already be cold."

She did have time to call the police, but that would have wasted a lot of time, and by the time she got to the scene with the police, it might have been too late to save anyone.

“I was originally planning to take your car here first, and then I would ask you to go back and call the police to bring them over. I know martial arts, so rescuing people and stalling for time won’t be a problem,” Yuan Mengge told him.

As Yuan Mengge spoke, she peered into the roadside bushes.

It was very dark, there were no lights, and you couldn't see the tire tracks on the ground.

We could only see places on the side of the road where cars could drive in.

They certainly wouldn't hijack a car openly on the roadside; they would probably threaten the driver to move to a secluded spot on the side of the road.
