Back in the dormitory, the others were curious again.
"Wow, Yuan Pingping, it seems your studying these past few days has really paid off! Your grades have improved so much!" Wei Jingting said, sitting on the edge of her bed and looking at Yuan Mengge.
Yuan Mengge said, "I studied so hard just to improve my grades, and at least my efforts weren't in vain."
"If you keep this score, you'll be able to go to a vocational school after graduation," Cao Dan said, looking up at her.
Yuan Mengge didn't answer her question; her goal wasn't to attend a vocational school.
But there's no point in telling them this; nobody will believe it now.
It will only be convincing if her scores continue to rise after the midterm exams.
Just as Yuan Mengge was about to take a nap at noon, someone rushed to the dormitory door and shouted loudly for her.
"Yuan Pingping! Come out here, I have something to say to you."
Hearing someone shout so loudly, everyone in the dormitory looked up at the door.
As soon as Yuan Mengge heard the voice, she knew who it was.
Looking up, she saw Yuan Xiangxiang standing at the door, glaring at her with a dark expression.
After glancing at Yuan Xiangxiang, the people in the dormitory turned to look at Yuan Mengge.
Yuan Mengge grabbed her coat, jumped off the bed, and walked out, asking as she went, "What's wrong?"
Yuan Xiangxiang followed her to the stairwell, then glared at her and said, "You actually separated your household registration? What were you thinking? What's wrong with you?"
Upon hearing this, Yuan Mengge said impatiently, "Are you bringing this up again? Isn't it annoying? Can you please stop bothering me? Your parents haven't said anything, why are you meddling in other people's business?"
"Meddling? I'm your sister, if I don't take care of you, who will? Do you really think you can sever ties with your family with just a little booklet?" Yuan Xiangxiang glared at her and angrily scolded, then continued, "You have Mom and Dad's blood in your veins, and your flesh came from Mom. Do you think you can just sever ties like that? It's not that easy."
Yuan Mengge looked at her and said, "Are you done talking? Can you leave now? Did you come here just to tell me this?"
Upon hearing this, Yuan Xiangxiang's eyes lit up, and she said to her, "Take the afternoon off and come with me to meet someone."
Upon hearing that she was asked to take leave and that she was going to meet someone, Yuan Mengge immediately refused: "I'm not going."
She's not interested in anyone, let alone having to ask for leave. She wants to go to class every weekend, so why would she need to ask for leave?
Yuan Xiangxiang seemed to have anticipated her refusal, and then said, "You're not even listening to me now? Have you forgotten who gave you clothes? You've worn our clothes since you were little. If it weren't for us, would you have so many clothes to wear?"
Yuan Mengge watched her attempt at moral blackmail with a blank expression and replied, "Do you think I want to wear those old, worn-out, and patched-up clothes of yours? Don't talk like you're doing me some favor."
She's not Yuan Pingping, so she doesn't need to care about these things.
Upon hearing this, Yuan Xiangxiang immediately widened her eyes, pointed at her, and scolded, "What? No wonder Mother said you're an ingrate, you really are an ingrate! If I hadn't given you clothes, you would have been running around naked long ago, and you're not even thanking me?"
Yuan Mengge didn't want to hear anything more from her, so she turned around and prepared to go back to her dormitory.
Seeing that she was about to leave without listening to her, Yuan Xiangxiang immediately reached out and grabbed her: "Wait a minute, I haven't even said anything yet, why are you leaving?"
Yuan Mengge: "If you're just going to spout this nonsense, I'm too lazy to listen. It's a waste of my time. I won't take the afternoon off, and I certainly won't go see that person you mentioned. Don't bother me!"
As she spoke, she gently shook her hand, hoping the other person would let go on their own.
However, her aunt clearly didn't want her to leave just like that.
"No, you have to come with me this afternoon. I've already made an appointment with them. If you don't go, wouldn't I be breaking my promise?" Yuan Xiangxiang grabbed her tightly, frowning and glaring at her.
Yuan Mengge looked at her coldly and said, "You're afraid of breaking your promise, but did you ask for my opinion? Did you get my consent? You're a mother yourself, don't you know what it means to respect people?"
After saying that, she twisted her hand and skillfully broke free from Yuan Xiangxiang's grasp.
"No, you have to come with me today no matter what!" Seeing that she had broken free of her hand, Yuan Xiangxiang immediately rushed up and reached out to grab Yuan Mengge's hair.
Hearing her footsteps, Yuan Mengge anticipated her movements, slightly turned her body, and dodged the hand that attacked from behind.
Then she warned Yuan Xiangxiang: "Just talk, but you'd better not lay a hand on me!"
Yuan Xiangxiang missed her grabbing and was stunned for a moment before reacting. Hearing her words, she instinctively retorted, "I'm your older sister, why can't I discipline you? Who told you to be disobedient? If you had behaved properly, I wouldn't have scolded you!"
As Yuan Mengge turned her head, she saw a bunch of heads sticking out of the doors and windows of the dormitory next to her, staring at them with gossip and watching the commotion.
She immediately turned and walked down the stairs, then stood at the corner and looked at Yuan Xiangxiang, saying, "I'll say it again, don't come looking for me again, or don't blame me for being impolite!"
"Oh ho, you're being rude to me. I'd like to see how you'll be rude to me! You have to go today, whether you like it or not! They went to great lengths to make time to meet today, how can you not go?" Yuan Xiangxiang saw her walking downstairs and naturally followed.
Yuan Mengge stared at her, wondering what she was thinking, and asked, "You're not planning to set me up on a blind date right now, are you?"
Hearing her words, asking her to take leave to see someone, Yuan Mengge felt a sense of familiarity.
Considering she's in her final year of junior high, her family must already be starting to look for a husband for her.
Upon hearing this, Yuan Xiangxiang's eyes flashed, and she continued, "Since you've already guessed it, then hurry up and get yourself ready, come with me for some tea, and meet them. If you're not willing, they might not even look at you."
Yuan Mengge sneered and said, "None of you should think about this kind of thing anymore. I won't get married before I graduate from university. And whether I get married or not, and who I marry, is none of your business. Even if I do plan to get married, I won't ask you to introduce me to someone."
As for whether she will get married after graduating from university, that depends on whether anyone can change her mind.
"Do you think you can find someone yourself if you don't ask us to introduce you? Someone like you wants to go to university? You won't even be able to finish high school this semester, let alone go to university. What a pipe dream!" As soon as she heard that she wouldn't get married before graduating from university, Yuan Xiangxiang immediately mocked her.
