Yuan Xiangyong chased after her, cursing as he looked for sticks to hit her: "What kind of twisted logic are you spouting? I don't know where you learned those crooked ways! Today I'll show you what real truth is."
As he spoke, he picked up a bamboo stick used for herding chickens, grabbed it, and chased after Yuan Mengge.
Yuan Mengge ran incredibly fast, turning her head as she ran to retort, "You're always like this! You think you're right just because you hit me? You're just spoiling your son. Sooner or later he'll commit crimes and go to jail. When his enemies come after you, let's see what you do then!"
Hearing her say this, Yuan Dasheng, who was following behind, couldn't help but curse, "How did you know I'd go to jail? Are you cursing me? If someone wants revenge, I'll make sure they come after you first!"

While everyone was gossiping, Yuan Mengge and her grandson had already run out of the village.
Yuan Xiangyong was getting on in years, and after running for a while he was panting so hard his lungs felt like they were about to explode, his legs were weak, and his mind was foggy.

Yuan Mengge stood a dozen meters away from him, hands on her hips, and looked at him, saying, "Anyway, let me tell you, as long as I'm in this family, none of you will be allowed to bully Sister Xue'e! Otherwise, I'll make you all regret it."

Since she couldn't go home, she decided to take a detour through the mountains to get back, and then ask Li Xue'e to bring out her textbooks and homework.
Meanwhile, Li Xue'e, seeing that Yuan Mengge had Yuan Xiangyong chase after her and then saw Yuan Dasheng, immediately became frightened and hid back in her room, locking the door from the inside.
With everyone else out, she instantly felt unsafe in the house if Yuan Dasheng came back.
Yuan Mengge's words resurfaced in her mind.
Perhaps she really needs to seriously consider whether she should leave this place.
But is this really the right thing to do?
She felt conflicted and uneasy.
But they didn't have the courage of Yuan Mengge to run away directly.
After Yuan Dasheng returned, he sat on the bed and looked at the door to Yuan Mengge's room. Seeing that the door was closed, he said, "A'e, you don't need to be so afraid of me. Don't worry, I won't do anything to you today."
But the room was quiet, and no one answered him.

He then went out.
Yuan Mengge followed the mountain path, circled around to the back of her house from another direction, went up the mountain, and then went down the back mountain, quietly walking to her room window.
She peered through the window into the room and saw Li Xue'e sitting on the bed, so she called to her softly.
"Sister Xue'e! Sister Xue'e~"
Hearing the sound, Li Xue'e turned her head to look at the window and saw that she had pressed her face against the window.
Yuan Mengge beckoned to her with her finger.
Li Xue'e walked over, and Yuan Mengge said, "Help me get my textbooks and schoolbag. I'll take you somewhere."
"Where are you going?" Li Xue'e asked curiously as she helped her pack her textbooks into her schoolbag.
Yuan Mengge: "Let's go to the river."
After packing her schoolbag, Li Xue'e turned around and walked to the door, quietly opening it to peek outside.
I saw Yuan Xiangyong sitting in a chair in the living room.
She stepped back and walked past him with her schoolbag, knowing she would definitely be spotted.
So she walked to the window and looked at Yuan Mengge: "Your dad is in the living room, I can't take this out."
The window has a window bar, but the gap is too small to fit the entire backpack inside.
So Yuan Mengge said, "Pass the books out the window one by one, and I'll take them."
