Chapter 98 Old Policeman Old Ma

The woman thought that Yuan Mengge kicking her in her house earlier was just a coincidence.

She had no idea that Yuan Mengge's kick involved fighting techniques, which is why she brought the man over, hoping he would stop her.

However, they had barely met and exchanged a few words when Yuan Mengge suddenly attacked again, and very swiftly knocked the man to the ground.

She then realized that this girl might not be an ordinary person.

"Get out of the way!" Seeing that the woman was still standing there in a daze, Yuan Mengge immediately pushed her aside and then got on the motorcycle the man had driven.

"Sister Xue'e, get on." She called out to Li Xue'e as soon as she got on her bike.

Li Xue'e quickly picked up the child and sat down. After Yuan Mengge started the car, she asked, "What about the bicycle? What are we going to do with it?"

Yuan Mengge said, "I'll come back and get it in a bit."

Anyway, if that woman dares to touch her bicycle, she will definitely make her pay for it.

Yuan Mengge drove her motorcycle to the hospital first, and told Li Xue'e to take the child to find a doctor first.

Then he went to the police station to report that a child had been injured by his own mother, who not only ignored the child but also planned to wait for the child to die, bury him somewhere, and then lie to the child's father that he had been abducted.

Upon hearing her words and noticing witnesses, the police officers at the local police station immediately inquired about the situation.

Then they sent someone to the hospital to investigate.

At the police station, the officer who was questioning Yuan Mengge stared at her for a few moments before suddenly asking, "Sister? You look familiar. Have we met before?"

Yuan Mengge: "..."

The police officer thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up. He looked at her and said, "Aren't you the girl who caught the bicycle thief at the internet cafe a few days ago?"

Yuan Mengge nodded: "Uh...it's me."

The police officer immediately turned around and shouted into a door behind him, "Old Ma—come out here for a second, the girl you said you wanted to see last time, she's here!"

Yuan Mengge: "???"

Then she saw a middle-aged policeman come out of the back door: "Oh? She's here? What's the matter this time???"

Then he walked over and looked Yuan Mengge up and down with shining eyes.

The police officer who received the report replied, "She rescued a child and just took him to the hospital."

Upon hearing this, Old Ma turned his head and asked, "What child? What happened?"

As he spoke, he walked toward the police officer who had received the call and looked down at the call log he had written.

The police officer who received the report replied, "It is said that the child's mother accidentally injured the child, and then left it unattended while planning to go out with her lover. She said she would bury the child haphazardly after he died and then lie to her husband that the child had been abducted."

After listening, Old Ma asked, "Where is the child?"

Police officer: "At the hospital, I asked A-Yang to go there to investigate the situation."

Old Ma looked at Yuan Mengge and asked, "Do you live in Zhulan Village? Which village is that child from?"

"From Qitiao Village," the police officer who answered the call replied.

Upon hearing this, Old Ma looked at Yuan Mengge strangely: "Seven Villages? What are you going there for? Isn't that in the direction of Baifeng Brigade? It's the opposite direction from your home."

Yuan Mengge: "My sister and I went there to play. When we were walking around in that village, we heard someone hitting a child, so we went over to take a look. We saw that the woman pushed the child and made him hit the table, and he fainted."

After listening to her explanation, Lao Ma had no doubts.

Then he looked at Yuan Mengge and immediately asked a barrage of questions: "Your name is Yuan Pingping, right? You're graduating from junior high this year, right? Which high school are you planning to apply to? Minzhong High School? County High School? How are your grades?"

Yuan Mengge looked at him, who had suddenly switched to an elder mode and was asking her a bunch of questions. She was completely confused and asked, "Huh?"

Why is he, a policeman, asking about her grades instead of asking about the case?

Old Ma chuckled and sat down next to the dispatcher, A-Gang, and said, "A-Ping, were you the one who beat up the human traffickers on the gate a few days ago?"

Yuan Mengge naturally denied it, saying, "Where did you hear that that person is mine?"

Old Ma looked at her: "Really not you?"

Upon hearing this, Yuan Mengge knew that the other person did not know who that person was.

So she shook her head: "It wasn't me, I've never hit a human trafficker."

Old Ma gazed at her, lost in thought.

Ah Gang, who was standing next to him, laughed and said, "Old Ma, why are you so sure it's her?"

Old Ma thought for a moment and then asked her, "I haven't answered my question yet. How are your grades?"

Yuan Mengge tilted her head and looked at him strangely: "Officer, that's my personal privacy, why are you asking?"

When Old Ma heard her say that, he raised an eyebrow and chuckled, "What? Can't I even ask?"

When children this age ask about their grades, they usually either answer honestly or remain silent.

It's rare to see someone like her who would argue back.

Because of their profession, children usually answer honestly.

Yuan Mengge pursed her lips: "Personal privacy, no comment. I also have the right to privacy, okay?"

Old Ma laughed again: "You know about this? Then tell me, what is the right to privacy?"

Yuan Mengge rolled her eyes and said, "Are you testing me? Privacy refers to a natural person's private space, private activities, and private information. Academic performance falls under the category of personal private information."

Old Ma and Ah Gang's eyes lit up: "Wow, you know quite a lot."

Yuan Mengge sighed, then asked, "Can I go now? I want to go to the hospital to check on the child; my sister is still there."

Old Ma nodded and said, "That's fine. If there are any further questions, we might call you back for questioning. Don't worry, we'll just ask you some simple questions."

Yuan Mengge shrugged: "I know, I haven't committed any crime, what am I afraid of?"

Then she turned around, walked to the entrance of the police station, and rode her bicycle to the hospital.

Old Ma looked at her motorcycle and asked, "Where did she get her motorcycle?"

Ah Gang replied, "She said she borrowed the child's mother's lover's car to take the child to the hospital."

Old Ma: "Hasn't the child's mother arrived yet?"

A-Gang: "The child's father is probably working out of town, otherwise the child's mother wouldn't have hired someone to come over. I don't think that woman would dare to come. Her affair has been discovered, and if she comes, the matter might not be able to be kept secret anymore."

Old Ma nodded upon hearing this: "That makes sense."

Then he prepared to go out.

Ah Gang asked him, "Where are you going?"

Old Ma: "I'm going to the hospital to get checked out."

When Yuan Mengge arrived at the hospital, the doctor was treating the child's head wound.

Li Xue'e stood with a young policeman outside the emergency room.
