Chapter 18 The Yellow Mushroom Disease Strikes

Just then, Zhao Xiulian entered the yard with a bunch of mushrooms in her hand.

"Dongzi's back! Get up and take a look, what's wrong with our Mushroom?"

"What's wrong?" Li Weidong came out of the house.

"These mushrooms of ours have tiny yellow specks of mud on them, like rust. Do you think they might be sick?"

Li Weidong rushed over to his mother and took the mushroom from her.

He examined it carefully.

Sure enough, there were many yellow spots on it, which couldn't be wiped off by hand.

Recalling Zhang Bin's instructions this morning, my heart sank, and I realized the seriousness of the matter.

"This could be yellow mushroom disease."

"Yellow mushroom disease? Is that serious?" Zhao Xiulian asked.

"Mom, don't worry, let me ask about this first."

After saying that, Li Weidong strode into the main room and dialed Zhang Bin's number.

After talking to the other party for two minutes, I hung up the phone with a heavy heart.

"Dongzi, what exactly do you mean? Is it yellow mushroom disease?"

"This...how could this be? We've already sprayed pesticides as a preventative measure!" Zhao Xiulian was a little confused.

"Mom, which greenhouse did these mushrooms come from? Is the disease outbreak widespread?"

Li Weidong has been running around these past few days, so he's been lazy and hasn't gone to the greenhouse. Who would have thought that just because he hasn't been there for a few days, the mushrooms have gotten sick.

“Both sheds have it. A few days ago, I saw yellow spots on them, but I thought they were just mud spots, so I didn’t pay attention to them… There was also a foul smell in the sheds, but I didn’t know that this was yellow mushroom disease, even though we had sprayed pesticides.”

Zhao Xiulian was truly anxious; her voice even trembled with tears as she spoke.

"Mom, I just asked Zhang Bin, and he said he had the same problem, it's because the dosage wasn't enough. I'm asking you, how many of the five bottles of medicine he gave us are left?"

"There are four bottles left," Zhao Xiulian said.

"Four bottles??"

"I was thinking that this medicine was quite expensive, so I had to use it sparingly. So I only sprayed a little bit in each greenhouse."
