Finding bargains
Despite Liang Qingqing continuously throwing out her magical artifacts and talismans, she still couldn't stop the attack from the bull-like beast.
Fang Cheng exchanged a glance with his two brothers on the other side, and the three of them suddenly attacked at the same time, striking Liang Qingqing, who was only at the fifth level of Qi Refining.
"Go!" Liang Cheng roared, and the other two followed and ran in other directions.
"You!" Liang Qingqing's eyes widened, blood continuously spilling from the corner of her mouth. At this moment, she had already entered the attack range of the bull-like beast and was instantly locked onto by it.
Seeing the beast-like creature stop, the three were overjoyed and fled into the distance. This was a way to hand over the culprit in exchange for their own chance to escape.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Ruan Qingyu was perched on a tree, quietly watching the spectacle of betrayal and abandonment unfold below.
"Let me eat it." Yunyin thought to himself, his voice filled with drooling.
With Yun Yin present, that bull-like beast, despite being at the Golden Core stage, would have been nothing more than his meal. However, Ruan Qingyu was unwilling to intervene to save these people, but since Yun Yin wanted to eat them, she changed her course and returned.
Who would have thought that I would witness this scene so coincidentally.
“Those who harm others will always be harmed themselves,” Ruan Qingyu said calmly, patting Yun Yin’s head as she spoke.
Having received the instruction, Yunyin let out a low growl and immediately flew downwards. The bull-like beast had just devoured one person, and its eyes were now filled with satiation. However, upon noticing Yunyin, it immediately retreated warily.
Yunyin wouldn't give the prey a chance to escape, and immediately unleashed a ball of lightning. The intense lightning illuminated the surrounding forest, obscuring its original colors.
With a crackling sound, the lightning ball collided with the venom from the bull-like beast's open mouth. Yunyin's attack proved superior, instantly suppressing the bull-like beast's attack.
Instantly, accompanied by a mournful howl, the bull-like beast lay down unwillingly, the fatal wound spreading from its neck to its chest, constantly flashing with lightning.
However, the scene that Ruan Qingyu had imagined—the consumption of flesh and blood—did not occur. Instead, a round beast core flew out from the belly of the bull-like beast.
It was swallowed whole by Yunyin, and the next moment, Yunyin's fur seemed to have been washed away, becoming even blacker and shinier than before.
In the blink of an eye, Ruan Qingyu saw Yun Yin return to her side. He was carrying a purse in the corner of his mouth, clearly a storage bag.
"Although that female cultivator was eaten, her storage bag was left behind. See if you can use it." Yun Yin tossed the storage bag to Ruan Qingyu.
Seeing this, Ruan Qingyu did not reach out to touch it directly. Her hand, enveloped in bright yellow flames, touched the storage bag. Instantly, the contents scattered all over the ground.
Upon closer inspection, there were some talismans that hadn't yet been used, and some yellow-grade magic artifacts. Although they weren't needed for the time being, they could be sold to fellow disciples later when they returned to the sect.
So Ruan Qingyu burned the storage bag to ashes, leaving only the useful spirit stones and magical artifacts that could be resold.
“This bull-like beast wouldn’t have chased them for no reason. It must be that this person was trying to subdue the monster and angered it.” Ruan Qingyu looked at the fallen trees around them and the pursuit route that stretched for dozens of feet in the distance.
Yun Yin recalled Liang Qingqing's inexplicable attempt to buy him with spirit stones, and couldn't help but nod in agreement. Aside from eating flesh and blood, most demonic beasts only attack when provoked by human cultivators.
Yunyin flicked his tail: "How much longer do we have?"
Upon hearing this, Ruan Qingyu knew that he was asking about the location of the ore, so she immediately released her divine sense and flew in all directions.
Immediately, he looked somewhat surprised: "It's actually this place, but this place is full of trees, weeds, and rocks. How do we go down to the mine?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Ruan Qingyu couldn't help but look at the pit where she had first seen the group. This was the only place most likely to collapse again, and with that thought, she turned her gaze to Yun Yin.
Feeling her gaze, Yun Yin opened his mouth as if to threaten her, but in the end he helplessly said, "Fine, you say it, I'll do it." After all, she was his wife. If he didn't listen to his wife, his former friends would probably laugh at him.
Yun Yin turned his gaze to Ruan Qingyu, listening intently to her request. After all, he had been in a cage in his previous life and had no idea what was happening in the outside world.
Pointing to the sunken pit, Ruan Qingyu found a good spot to stand on: "This pit, although we can't detect any spiritual energy leakage from the spirit mine for the time being, has a very high overlap with that mining area from back then."
Seeing that she was staring at him after she finished speaking, Yun Yin twitched his ears, knowing that it was time for him to make a move. He immediately jumped into the pit and found a spot as far away from Ruan Qingyu as possible.
Countless bolts of lightning erupted from Yunyin's body, spreading along the crater. However, after this first wave, the crater remained completely still.
Yun Yin immediately raised his head and roared. Along with the roar of the Thunder Leopard, some low-level demonic beasts and spirit beasts in the distance began to move, not to mention the birds that screamed and took flight in an instant.
Seeing this, Ruan Qingyu frowned: "Keep your noise down, there are many cultivators here."
If they attract cultivators from other parts of the Hunyuan Mine Forest, not only will they fail to retain the spirit stones, but they might also be captured and interrogated about how they excavated the mine.
After thinking for a moment, Ruan Qingyu was still uneasy, so she formed a hand seal. Instantly, dozens of stones around her, accompanied by a little spiritual energy, floated up and formed a simple concealment array around her.
Yun Yin, though somewhat impatient after being reprimanded, obediently lowered his movements. The lightning beneath his feet intensified, spreading towards the thick soil.
As the soil turned black and the acrid smell of burning filled the air, the ground suddenly cracked open. Taking advantage of the moment, Yun Yin leaped up and landed where Ruan Qingyu was.
As the soil and rocks collapsed and fell into the mine shaft, Ruan Qingyu finally felt relieved once the tremors subsided.
Immediately afterwards, Yun Yin flung him onto his back. The man and beast leaped down through the cracked cave entrance. Amidst the falling rubble, Ruan Qingyu could clearly see the situation inside the cave.
A thin white mist shrouded the cave, clearly indicating that the spirit stone mine had been sealed off for a long time, and the spiritual energy that had been trapped inside could not circulate, so it gathered in this cave.
After the spiritual energy turned into mist, it slowly gathered on the stone walls over time, gradually forming new spirit stones. This mine was famous because it was known throughout the four continents.
This demonstrates the sheer size of their quantity and the abundance of their output.
Wherever divine sense swept, neat white spirit stones were embedded in the stone wall; upon closer inspection, there were even more spirit stones than rocks.
"Yunyin, so many spirit stones, enough to sustain our cultivation for a hundred years." Ruan Qingyu's voice trembled slightly as she transmitted her voice, having never seen so many spirit stones before.
Yunyin shook his fur, removing the dust he had picked up from jumping into the cave. Hearing Ruan Qingyu's words and feeling the emotional connection from their contract, he also became excited.
"Then hurry up. I just sensed someone coming this way. You need to be quick." With that, Yun Yin impatiently stretched out his claws and scratched at the hard spirit stone wall.
With a loud crash, Yun Yin pried open a large section of the massive spirit stone wall. And that wasn't all; he extended another claw and pried off a section of the adjacent stone wall that was already on the verge of collapsing.
The situation was urgent, and Ruan Qingyu didn't mind that Yun Yin had broken some high-grade spirit stones into pieces. With a wave of her hand, she collected all the spirit stones that had fallen to the ground into her storage bracelet.
Faced with this enormous mine, Ruan Qingyu also wanted to dig some out. However, before she could do it, she couldn't think of any way to do it. After pondering for a moment, she simply wrapped her palm with Phoenix Divine Fire.
A hand engulfed in flames slashed across the wall with its fingers forming a blade, instantly creating large cracks. The stone wall rapidly crumbled, and moments later, a large number of spirit stones fell down along with the broken stone.
Half an hour later, Ruan Qingyu tucked the stray hairs that had fallen from her head behind her ear and was about to continue cutting the stone wall.
But then they heard Yun Yin's somewhat irritable voice: "If we keep doing it this way, we won't be able to move much even when everyone comes. Come to my side."
Upon hearing this, Ruan Qingyu quickly walked to Yun Yin's side, curious about what he was going to do. The next moment, countless bolts of lightning shot up from below.
The walls, piled high with spirit stones, were enveloped, accompanied by the cracking sounds of these stones breaking. Dust and an increasingly thick spiritual mist rose from within the cave.
"Try using your divine sense to move the entire cavern inside." Yun Yin's voice was slightly out of breath, clearly indicating that the lightning he had just released had taken a toll on him.
The more Ruan Qingyu learned about Yunyin, the less she felt she knew. Therefore, she closed her eyes without hesitation, letting her divine sense envelop the mine.
With a thought in mind, Ruan Qingyu began to try to move the mine into the storage bracelet, initially hesitant. However, she found that as soon as the thought arose, all the spirit stones shattered by Yun Yin in the entire cave were moved into the storage bracelet.
"Yunyin, they've all moved in!" Opening her eyes, Ruan Qingyu was somewhat excited, not expecting that the operation would actually succeed.
The only response she received was a low growl from Yun Yin, after which she was tossed back onto his back again, and the two of them quickly emerged from the empty cave.
However, Yunyin did not stop, and quickly flew towards the other side of the sky. Until he disappeared into the clouds, only a powerful person who could see through the clouds thousands of feet in the sky from the ground would know.
Otherwise, it would be absolutely impossible to see that there was a Thunder Leopard in the misty sky, and Ruan Qingyu on its back.
Just a quarter of an hour after Yun Yin left with Ruan Qingyu, someone appeared in a flash.
They discovered the lingering spiritual mist inside the cave, as well as the few spirit stones scattered among the ruins and debris.
"Could it just be a remnant of a spirit mine?" the cultivator muttered to himself, but the concentration of spiritual energy was too exaggerated, making him suspicious.
