The truth comes out
Lu Siyao felt a dryness in her throat, and tried to summon moisture again, but found it useless. Turning her head to look around, she saw that all she could see were flames that had not yet dissipated.
The floating flames, like a cage, trapped her tightly within. The surrounding moisture further aggravated the rising temperature, and Lu Siyao stared fixedly at Ruan Qingyu.
Suddenly, she formed hand seals, and with trembling lips, uttered the final incantation. A light blue dragon head suddenly appeared behind Lu Siyao, a move she had made before the start of the arena battle.
This water dragon seemed even more imposing. Ruan Qingyu, who always crushed others with her phoenix fire, frowned slightly as she sensed the unusual aura.
Her steps slowed slightly, but Ruan Qingyu steeled her resolve, flames blazing in her palms, and a phantom phoenix faintly appeared behind her.
"ah--!"
Just as the two were locked in a fierce battle, about to unleash even greater power, an unexpected incident occurred to the four people fighting on the other side, leaving the two as if they had been doused with a bucket of water.
Before she could react, Ruan Qingyu saw Lu Siyao in front of her suddenly enveloped in white light and leave the arena.
Suddenly, Ruan Qingyu turned her head and saw Jin Chengcheng standing panting at the edge of a crack, her hands empty.
Seeing everyone looking at her, Jin Chengcheng smiled and said, "It's just a whip. If you lose it, you lose it. You can just find someone else to replace it."
Below the arena, Xiao Ke returned to the waiting area after the white light dissipated. She instantly regained her senses, her face first turning pale, then grim.
Her teammates, who were initially somewhat dissatisfied, opened their mouths after seeing her expression, but ultimately said nothing.
Lu Siyao was the first to come to her senses and approached Xiao Ke, asking, "Junior Sister Xiao, are you alright?"
Hearing Lu Siyao's concern, Xiao Ke stood up and shook her head: "This time it was my carelessness that caused everyone to have to play another round."
Lu Siyao patted Xiao Ke's shoulder reassuringly, her expression calm and not angry about the failure.
As his gaze shifted, a sense of relief crept in. But when his eyes fell upon an empty arena, there was still no one there.
The victors, Ruan Qingyu and the others, stood in the same spot for a long time, but the arena still did not send them away.
Jin Chengcheng slumped down, leaning lazily against Yangming: "Didn't we win? Why didn't we go down or anyone come to tell us the news?"
Raising her head, Ruan Qingyu's gaze quietly swept over the area directly above the arena, where the spiritual energy was the most mixed.
Another quarter of an hour passed, and suddenly a white light shone down on everyone's heads. Ruan Qingyu squinted and saw five brown boxes descending with the white light.
Only after the boxes had completely fallen to the ground did the five people exchange glances before gathering around.
"The team competition has ended. This is the reward that the sect bestows upon the winning disciples. We hope that you will bring glory to our Xuantian Sect in the future." The elder's voice came from afar, and Ruan Qingyu felt that the voice was somewhat familiar.
As the elder's voice faded, a familiar white light enveloped the five of them, and when they opened their eyes again, they were in the waiting area for rest.
This was followed by cheers and applause from the disciples in the spectator area. The results of this year's competition were full of ups and downs.
Not to mention that the closed-door disciple not only dominated the team of the former senior sister Lu Siyao, but if the game hadn't ended so suddenly, we could have seen a peak showdown.
Many Xuantian Sect disciples were itching to see these two clash, it was such a pity.
Under the scrutinizing gazes of the crowd, Ruan Qingyu put away the sect's reward. Suddenly, a voice came from beside her: "If there's an opportunity in the future, the two of us can spar again."
Ruan Qingyu turned her head and immediately saw Lu Siyao waving at her not far away.
Seeing the other person's smiling face, their eyes filled with closeness and sincerity, Ruan Qingyu blinked and nodded under their expectant gaze.
As night fell, Ruan Qingyu sensed something and gradually changed from her cross-legged meditation posture to leaning against the wall and slowly falling asleep. The phoenix zither that had been hanging at her waist quietly rose up, emitting a faint light.
The little doll that was on the desk not far away suddenly lay down limply, and then Wutong's spirit faintly appeared, looking at Ruan Qingyu with deep doubt.
This wasn't the first time; he would always sense a familiar aura emanating from Miss Ruan at night. But wasn't that person supposed to have gone to another small world? How could they possibly return to the cultivation world?
The spirit cautiously drifted over, and after thinking for a moment, Wutong slowly raised her hand and flicked it above Ruan Qingyu, causing a faint blue light to fall down.
The dream gradually gained color, unfolding like a scroll painting.
Unsurprisingly, she saw the man again under that tree. Ruan Qingyu walked over and asked, "You still haven't told me who you are?"
If it wasn't a demonic beast that specifically entered her dreams, then what kind of demonic beast could it be that could link to her dreams? And it wasn't even a one-off occurrence; whenever he felt a surge of emotion, it would always enter her dreams that night.
Yunyin grinned and said, "Isn't it good? I told you, you missed me, so I came." As he spoke, Yunyin took a step forward and tried to pull her towards the tree.
After the last time, Yunyin realized that even just sleeping together was an extremely enjoyable experience for him.
Ruan Qingyu slowly raised her right hand, and the Phoenix Divine Fire arrived as promised, burning fiercely in her palm, stopping Yun Yin's remaining movements.
Ruan Qingyu was immediately surprised; she hadn't expected the Phoenix Divine Fire to follow her into the dream. She had only intended to summon the Pill Fire to threaten this person first.
Shifting her gaze from the Phoenix Divine Fire, Ruan Qingyu looked at the other person with a hint of threat on her face: "I want to hear the truth."
As long as what the other party said was true, Ruan Qingyu didn't mind the other party frequently pulling her into dreams, since her state of mind and cultivation improved every time she entered a dream.
As for other things, thinking of this, Ruan Qingyu's ears burned slightly, but her eyes remained cold as she looked at Yun Yin.
The flames burning before him radiated intense heat, causing Yun Yin to slow his breathing, his eyes filled with struggle.
If he hadn't realized the seriousness of the matter before, he had come here and discovered that it really was a very serious matter.
Forgive him, for all these years his mind has only been on cultivation and fighting, and the few days he has had have been spent locked in a cage.
"I said, but you can't get angry."
The Phoenix Divine Fire shrank slightly: "You go first."
With a hint of frustration in his purple eyes, Yunyin hesitated for a moment before gritting his teeth and saying, "I am Yunyin."
"What?" The phoenix fire in her hand suddenly went out, and Ruan Qingyu looked at the other party in astonishment. The other party was tall and handsome, and his purple eyes and black curly hair indicated that he was indeed a demon cultivator.
If Yunyin were to transform into a demon cultivator, she would likely possess her own unique characteristics. However, she cannot currently regard the black thunder leopard from before as one with the person before her.
But this is just my dream, and no one else could possibly know about my relationship with Yunyin... It's a dream now, so everything is fake.
Shaking her head, Ruan Qingyu suddenly took a step back.
Seeing this, Yunyin quickly stepped forward and reached out as if to stop her, but missed in the next moment.
"Awooo—" Yunyin suddenly transformed into his true form, but it was to no avail. The person who was just there disappeared into the dream along with the fire, and soon this part of the dream began to gradually dissipate from the edge.
Inside the disciple's quarters, Ruan Qingyu suddenly opened her eyes; the only sound in the room was her heavy breathing.
Raising her head and placing it on her forehead, Ruan Qingyu closed her eyes. After a long while, she said in a hoarse voice, "Wutong."
Soon, a faint blue light appeared beside her. Wutong floated over with a somewhat complicated expression, looked at the still somewhat dark room, and placed the spirit stone beside her into the lampshade.
As the bright lights illuminated the entire room, Ruan Qingyu's breathing calmed down.
"You and Yunyin have been friends for many years."
"yes."
Ruan Qingyu sat up straight and looked at him intently: "Then you must remember what he looks like. I want you to draw what he looked like when he transformed into human form."
As expected, Wutong felt helpless. Even if he didn't know the specific details, he knew that the stupid leopard must have done something wrong.
Out of consideration for Miss Ruan's life-saving grace, Wutong disregarded the old feelings between Nian and the beast and drew Yunyin's former appearance.
As the last stroke of the painting was completed, Ruan Qingyu stood to the side, looking at the portrait on the table, her expression so calm that it was impossible to tell whether she was happy or angry.
In reality, Ruan Qingyu was not as calm as she appeared. Her hand holding the scroll trembled slightly, her mind racing with a myriad of thoughts.
The man in the painting was tall, with a pair of very special purple eyes. Since her rebirth, Ruan Qingyu had only ever seen one person with such eyes.
Not to mention that head of black curly hair, wild yet captivatingly alluring. Perhaps it was because Wutong remembered this person as somewhat unrestrained, that even the clothes in the portrait seemed casual.
As she looked at it, Ruan Qingyu couldn't help but think of that erotic dream from that day. Perhaps she didn't understand it before, but now, thinking back on it again, that day was clearly a beautiful erotic dream.
Thinking of this, Ruan Qingyu's ears turned even redder. Then she realized that this person was none other than the ancient demon beast Lei Bao Yunyin, with whom she had made a contract.
But this person had always been a leopard, so how could he have such a relationship with her in her dream? Gradually, Ruan Qingyu's cheeks also turned rosy.
Not to mention that she had entered Yunyin's dreams many times before, almost treating him as a different person, and repeatedly guessing what kind of demon beast he was that could enter her dreams.
Unexpectedly, after all this time, this person turned out to be the one she knew best. Thinking about everything that had happened recently, Ruan Qingyu wanted to get angry, but she couldn't help but worry about Yun Yin's current situation.
If he's safe, why doesn't he come back soon? He clearly said he'd be back as soon as we got in touch, but now he has the time to do those intimate things to me in my dreams.
Lost in thought, Ruan Qingyu didn't realize that her previously expressionless face was now displaying a kaleidoscope of emotions—sometimes puzzled, sometimes angry, and sometimes a little shy.
Wutong became curious as she watched. What exactly was the relationship between Yunyin and Miss Ruan? It certainly wasn't a normal master-pet relationship. Her previous assumptions were probably wrong.
