Banxia pulled Nanxing to the window and looked up at the sky, where they saw two familiar mutated eagles flying and circling in the air.
"Are they the same two from yesterday? Are they really here for revenge?"
Banxia suddenly felt that her good intentions had been betrayed.
"It doesn't seem like that. I feel like it's more like they're looking for someone."
If it were revenge, the cries wouldn't be so mournful.
Banxia observed for a while and also felt that it didn't seem like revenge: "Could it be that they think I'm powerful and are preparing to come and join me?"
She pushed open the window and shouted into the air, "Hey—"
The two eagles looked over at the same time. Their sharp eyes made Yinzi, who had been curiously approaching, instinctively hunch his back and let out a threatening growl.
Nanxing was also startled and quickly pulled Banxia behind him, saying, "Don't be afraid, wife."
As they were talking, two eagles flew toward the window. They seemed to sense Nanxing's wariness of them and did not rush over rashly, but flew low near the window while calling out.
Banxia was completely stunned: "I was just joking."
“They…” Nanxing hesitated for a moment, “It seems they have something to ask you.”
The two eagles looked pleading, but Banxia had just fought them yesterday, so it didn't seem reasonable for them to be begging her.
"Do you need my help?" Banxia asked loudly. "If yes, call out once; if no, call out twice."
Chirp—
The two eagles cried out at the same time.
Banxia pointed to the rooftop: "Let's talk on the rooftop."
Although she didn't know what the mutated eagle might need human help for, her desire to tame it rekindled.
"I'll go too."
Nanxing quickly grabbed Banxia's hand, afraid that she would do something dangerous behind his back again.
As soon as the two opened the door, Su Yao strolled over with a malicious look on his face: "Oh, you just woke up?"
Fang Yunyun, worried that Banxia might be shy, quickly slapped him: "The mutated eagle has been calling outside all morning, you should hurry up and go to the rooftop."
"Um."
Banxia calmly pulled Nanxing away, but her ears, hidden in her hair, unconsciously turned red.
As soon as the two mutated eagles saw Banxia, they were so excited that they tried to pounce on her. They had been waiting all morning and were finally seeing a human.
Banxia couldn't help but ask curiously, "What do you need me for?"
Fearing she might misunderstand the mutated eagle's meaning, she released all the furry creatures in the space to act as translators.
The two mutated eagles instinctively spread their wings and flew into the sky. Jinzi, Taozi, Tuanzi, and Heizi's fur stood on end, they crouched down and bared their sharp teeth. It looked like a big battle was about to break out. Banxia quickly calmed the furry creatures down: "Don't move. The mutated eagles aren't here to cause trouble for their sister."
She recounted how the mutated eagles had asked for her help, and only then did the furry creatures reluctantly retract their attack posture, though their eyes still held a wary look.
After a series of chirps and whimpers, Banxia finally understood what the mutated eagle meant.
According to the two mutated eagles, they were born and raised in a zoo. Before the apocalypse, rare animals such as giant pandas, tigers, lions, and leopards were secretly sent to the base, while the remaining animals were divided up among a group of powerful people.
The mutated eagle couple were known for their volatile temper and aggressive nature, making them unsuitable as pets. They were eventually abandoned in a zoo to fend for themselves. However, eagles are natural hunters, and instead of starving, they thrived, even gaining considerable weight.
Two weeks ago, the mother eagle laid five eggs, their first litter. The couple cherished them dearly, taking turns diligently hunting every day to prepare food for their young.
A few days ago, the couple was discovered by humans, and during the fierce battle, all five eggs were stolen!
The two eagles immediately went berserk and slaughtered all the intruders, but unfortunately, they still couldn't find any trace of the eggs.
Their attack on Banxia and the others yesterday was also due to their inability to find the eggs, which led to their anger.
"So, you want me to help you find the eggs?"
Banxia was a little confused. City A was so big, how was she going to find it?
Both eagles shook their heads frantically at the same time: "Chirp chirp chirp!"
The egg has been found!
Banxia was even more confused: "Now that you've found them, why aren't you home incubating your eggs? What are you doing here looking for me?"
The two eagles looked at each other but remained silent.
Banxia didn't ask, since she wasn't the one in a hurry anyway.
After a while, the eagle shyly walked up to her, squatted down, and gestured for her to climb onto its back: "Chirp chirp chirp!"
I want to take you somewhere.
Banxia looked at it suspiciously. Was this guy planning to take her into the air and then drop her down?
Seeing that she didn't move, the mother eagle got impatient, slapped the male eagle away, and gestured for Banxia to sit on her back.
Banxia paused for two seconds: "Wait a few minutes, I'll go back and tell my companion. Also," she gestured, pulling Nanxing's hand, "my partner must be with me."
The two eagles nodded in agreement without any surprise; mates should stay together, after all.
Banxia put the furry creatures into her spatial storage, went back to tell Su Yao and the others, and then pulled Nanxing onto the mother eagle, letting them take her to some unknown place.
The two mutated eagles were enormous, with wingspans of about 35 meters, larger than the passenger planes commonly seen before the apocalypse.
"If you're not in a rush, fly slowly."
Banxia buried her face in Nanxing's arms and spoke with difficulty; her face was distorted by the wind.
The two eagles exchanged a puzzled look. They were already flying very slowly to accommodate the fragile human body.
But because they needed someone's help, they had to slow down their flight speed again.
About half an hour later, the two eagles landed on a mountain.
