Banxia put the car away and found a sheltered hillside to set up a tent.
Silver, Orange, and Pear Blossom couldn't offer much help; they patrolled the area.
The Bentley couple also set up their tent a hundred meters away from Banxia and the others. The goose left in the car glanced at the two of them furtively, then nimbly jumped out of the car window, and proudly spread its wings to chase after Yinzi!
Just then, Yinzi finished his patrol and was walking back when he saw the goose rushing towards him. His eyes narrowed and flashed with a sharp light. He leaped up and scratched the goose's neck with one claw, leaving a bloody mark.
The goose was a little confused. It had carried countless cats and dogs in its life, but this was the first time it had been scratched by a cat, and it was immediately furious.
"Caw caw caw!"
The goose flew angrily into the sky, then swooped down headfirst, preparing to attack from above.
"Red palm!"
Xie Xiangsong really didn't expect that his combative son would cause trouble again if he wasn't kept in check.
The goose was startled by its father's angry roar and fell straight to the ground headfirst.
Yinzi, Daju, and Lihua rushed forward and worked together to grab the goose by the neck and legs.
Xie Xiangsong was so frightened that his heart almost jumped out of his chest. He rushed to the goose's side in a few steps. Seeing that the three cats hadn't bitten it to death and drew blood, he breathed a sigh of relief and pleaded in a low voice, "Good cats, please, please let Hongzhang go, okay? I'll definitely teach it a lesson when I get back, so it will never dare to provoke you again!"
Yinzi, Daju, and Lihua all looked at each other with disdain: Why should you let go of the meat that's already in your mouth?
Xie Xiangsong, looking like he had a toothache, pulled out a bag of cat food out of thin air: "How about I trade you my cat food?"
Cat food is also food, and many people want to eat it but can't.
Yinzi, Daju, and Lihua remained unmoved; they were already tired of cat food and now wanted to eat meat!
A thoughtful glint flashed in Yinzi's emerald green eyes. It spat out the goose's neck twice, then stepped on it to prevent it from moving. It opened its mouth wide and shouted in Banxia's direction, "Meow meow meow!"
Xie Xiangsong hurriedly reached out to cover its mouth. He hadn't done anything, so why was it starting to complain?
He reached out halfway, but when he saw the silver cat baring its teeth, he quickly stopped and chuckled, "One bag of cat food isn't enough, I have others."
He cursed inwardly, thinking, "He's lost so much food! I'll give Red Palm a good beating when we get back!"
But with a deft hand, he pulled out three boxes of freeze-dried cat treats: "Master Cat, is that enough?"
Daju and Lihua's eyes lit up, but neither of them dared to say anything, waiting for Yinzi's reaction.
Yinzi didn't even glance at the frozen cat. Instead, she lowered her head, bit the goose's neck, and dragged it in front of Banxia who was walking over: "Meow meow meow!"
Sister, eat meat!
"Thank you, Yinzi," Banxia hugged the proud Yinzi, and then patted the expectant Daju and Lihua. "Thank you too, Daju and Lihua. I'll treat you to canned food later."
Big Orange and Pear Blossom excitedly rubbed against Banxia's legs. They were truly magnanimous, worthy of being their benefactors!
Xie Xiangsong chuckled and pinched the goose's defiant mouth: "Sorry, my red palm is too naughty. You—"
He took a deep breath. "What kind of compensation do you need to let Hongzhang off the hook?"
The other side has a large number of people and is powerful. The couple would be no match for them. They might as well be nicer and pay a little money to settle the matter.
"No need," Banxia said casually, rubbing Yinzi's ears. "But this is a one-time exception. After all, I can't keep letting the little cat's prey escape and making it sad, can I?"
Geese are naturally aggressive creatures, and after mutation, they become even more so. Considering the other party's good attitude, we can reluctantly let them go this time, since we still need to travel together for the rest of the journey.
"Huh?!" Xie Xiangsong didn't expect Banxia to be so easy to talk to, and a huge sense of guilt immediately arose in his heart. "Thank you, thank you, but I don't have a cat at home, so you can take the freeze-dried cat with you."
"Need not."
Banxia, too lazy to waste words, picked up the kitten and went back to the tent.
Nanxing and the others had already set up their tents and were preparing to cook.
Banxia pulled out three large geese from her spatial storage: "I want to eat stewed goose in an iron pot."
Nanxing took it from him and said, "Wife, go play over there. I'll call you when it's done."
“It’s getting dark,” Banxia said, putting the silver on the ground. “I’ll help you.”
The Bentleys seemed to feel bad for them, and soon they came over with a goose and a bag of vegetables to apologize.
Upon seeing the goose on the cutting board, the two fell silent. After a long while, Xie Xiangsong finally managed to say, "My wife has helped me grow some vegetables, so I'm adding some to your meal."
Banxia swiftly and decisively severed the goose's neck with a single stroke: "Then we won't stand on ceremony, thank you."
The goose in Wu Yajun's arms glanced at Banxia with awe, then buried its head under its belly and trembled. It seemed the kitten had shown mercy; its owner was the truly ruthless one.
Xie Xiangsong and Wu Yajun exchanged a glance, handed the bag to Nanxing, and ran away without looking back.
From afar, you could still hear them whispering, scolding the goose: "See if you dare to be so arrogant again. The goose on the chopping block is what will become of you..."
Banxia hummed a song softly as she continued to chop the goose into pieces with swift, precise strokes of her knife.
After eating the stewed goose in an iron pot, Yinzi, Daju, and Lihua deliberately circled around the goose's tent several times, still smelling of meat, until the smell dissipated before running back to their own tents.
The goose was so angry that its eyes turned red, but when it thought of the silver cat's ruthless backing, it cowered in the tent and didn't dare to go out and provoke them.
Xie Xiangsong and Wu Yajun: ...
You've finally met your match!
"You're back?" Banxia picked up Yinzi and asked Nanxing to wipe its paw pads. "Don't go out tonight, keep watch for your sister."
late at night.
A furtive figure quietly approached the tent. Silver Beard twitched slightly, and he suddenly opened his eyes, moving nimbly to the tent door, waiting for his chance to strike.
The figure outside seemed to sense something was wrong, froze abruptly, then turned and ran away in a flash.
Silver was stunned for a moment, then let out a sharp "meow" and chased after her.
"Damn it," Nanxing said, pressing down on Banxia, who was trying to get up, "Wife, keep sleeping."
"Okay," Banxia obediently lay down, "Be careful."
After Nanxing and Su Yao from next door, who had heard the commotion, went out together, Banxia couldn't sleep, so she simply climbed out of her sleeping bag and prepared to have a glass of water.
Just then, she heard a faint noise coming from outside. Just as she was about to go out to check, she heard the big orange cat and pear blossom cat next door meow and chase after the mysterious person.
"Banxia," Fang Yunyun shouted outside the tent, "Is she awake?"
"I'm awake," Banxia said, putting on her down jacket and lifting the tent flap. "Sister Yunyun, did you see what that was just now?"
Fang Yunyun spread her hands with a puzzled look on her face. In her palm was a fruit about half the size of her palm, covered with green hairs: "No, but I found a fruit."
Banxia took the fruit and examined it carefully with a flashlight: "I recognize it."
