Nanxing was completely bewildered: "So my wife now has more than 60,000 crystal cores?"
Banxia nodded with a smile: "Yes."
Nanxing suddenly understood the thrill of "double-crossing" that some people talked about.
He shook his head, dismissing the thought. This was just an accident; it wouldn't happen all the time. He needed to keep a calm mind.
Banxia opened another box: 10 Type 92 automatic pistols, 10 silencers, 2,000 rounds of ammunition, 20 smoke grenades, and 3 bulletproof vests.
She thought for a moment and said, "There are rats the size of basketballs in the city. It will become more and more dangerous. I'll find a chance to give these weapons to Brother Yao and Brother Yuan tomorrow."
Nanxing took her hand: "Thank you, my wife."
She didn't have much contact with Su Yao and Cai Yuan, and all she did was because of him.
Banxia rested her head on his shoulder: "Don't think too much about it. I'm friends with them too."
Based on their friendship of over ten years and their frequent interactions during this time, she could tell that Su Yao and the others were people of excellent character and not the type to easily betray their relatives and friends.
As a friend and teammate, she hoped they would live a long life.
Of course, if someone's character changes, she will not hesitate to take action!
The next evening.
Since everyone in the villa area had already left, the group no longer needed to hold back. They left the furry creature behind to watch the house and went out together to search for supplies.
Banxia beheaded the zombie with a single stroke: "Nanxing and I will search from top to bottom."
She led Nanxing up to the third floor. The owner of the villa seemed to have a great interest in ancient culture; the house was decorated in an antique style, and the owner even had a collection of several swords.
Banxia and Nanxing tallied all the supplies and carried the pre-prepared boxes downstairs.
Su Yao, Fang Yunyun, and Su Xiao collected the following from the first floor: "582 bags of 10kg vacuum-packed rice, 1621 boxes of instant noodles..."
Then, Cai Yuan and Zhao Xuan collected information from the second floor: "63 boxes of chocolate, down comforters..."
Banxia and Nanxing exchanged a glance: "Take a look at this first."
She opened the box and found 10 Type 92 automatic pistols, 10 silencers, 2,000 rounds of ammunition, 20 smoke grenades, and 5 bulletproof vests.
The two extra bulletproof vests were added by her, one for each of Su Yao, Su Xiao, Fang Yunyun, Cai Yuan, and Zhao Xuan.
Su Yao and the others stared at the contents of the box with shining eyes, their voices filled with disbelief: "Are they all the real thing?"
Nanxing smiled and said, "I checked, it's real."
Su Yao carefully picked up a gun: "There are so many, we can each take one!"
Banxia had enough guns in her space for both her and Nanxing to use: "Nanxing and I have some, you can share them, that's two guns each, and keep the extras as spares."
Xin Chong hadn't prepared any spare parts for repairs; if the gun broke down accidentally, it would be impossible to fix.
Su Yao and the others knew she wasn't just being polite: "We'll exchange your share for supplies!"
Over the next few days, the group wiped out all the zombies in the entire villa area, collecting so many supplies that the yard could hardly hold them all.
Fang Yunyun sighed, "I used to read post-apocalyptic novels where the main characters and supporting characters fought for three whole chapters over five packs of instant noodles. Who knew that we would have so many supplies after just looting a villa area that we could hardly store them all? Are novels too exaggerated or is reality too absurd?"
Banxia: ...
Don't worry, reality will soon teach you a lesson.
Su Yao gave Fang Yunyun's head a hard rub: "Wife, when did you become so naive?"
The owners of the Miaomiao Mountain villa area are all wealthy and powerful. After learning about the apocalypse, almost every household made ample preparations.
They were just lucky; they picked up what others had already accomplished.
If they lived in a densely populated urban area, they might be fighting with someone right now over a packet of instant noodles, their heads flying.
Cai Yuan said thoughtfully, "Right now, most people are still in the city and haven't thought about the remote suburbs. We need to find another place to put the supplies in the yard before the outsiders come, otherwise we'll have a lot of trouble in the future."
Banxia immediately agreed, saying, "It's not safe to put all your eggs in one basket. We need to have a backup plan."
With space available, she and Nanxing will never lack food or drink.
But Su Yao and his group were different; if their supplies were to be lost, their lives would fall into dire straits.
Su Xiao sighed: "But where is there a safe place now?"
She pinched the orange cat lying on her lap. "Orange cat, it would be great if you could evolve spatial abilities."
The orange cat covered its ears: Human, I don't understand what you're saying!
Banxia pulled a map from her pocket: "In the 1960s and 70s, relations between our country and the Great Bear Kingdom deteriorated, and we launched a large-scale campaign of 'digging deep tunnels, storing grain, and never seeking hegemony.' This is the location of Miaomiao Mountain."
She pointed to the other side of the mountain, "There's an abandoned air-raid shelter. Let's go check it out tomorrow. If it's still usable, we'll have a place to store supplies."
Fang Yunyun immediately hugged Banxia: "Are you Doraemon? How do you know everything?"
Banxia was a little helpless. Why did Sister Yunyun always like to hug and cuddle? "My junior high school history teacher said it."
The history teacher did mention it casually, but the inspiration actually came from a famous air-raid shelter base in her previous life.
After discussing it for a while, the group decided to set off at dawn to find an air-raid shelter.
6:30 a.m.
Banxia patted Jinzi's aggrieved face and comforted her, "Jinzi, be a good girl and watch the house. Your older brother and sister will take you out next time."
Most of the plants and animals on the mountain were reduced to ashes in the wildfire; those that remained were either lucky or mutated.
