Chapter 88 Departure

Two hours before six o'clock, Banxia pulled Nanxing into the space to check the medicine they had bought for zero yuan.

She didn't touch the items after she brought them back, so she just piled them up haphazardly, making it look like a junkyard.

Banxia looked at Nanxing: "I want to find a suitable time to take some of the medicine out."

She explained carefully, "If the plague spreads, the entire city will probably fall. We could work ourselves to death and still not kill all ten million zombies. Helping them is also helping ourselves."

What's more, these were all purchased for free, costing her no money whatsoever, so she didn't feel bad at all.

Nanxing had no objections; the things belonged to his wife, and she had the final say.

Looking at the overflowing medicine, Banxia felt as if she had forgotten something.

She thought for a moment, found her tablet, opened the stockpiling records, and the drug purchase details.

Stomach medicine, fever reducers, allergy medication... vaccines!

Banxia couldn't help but slap her forehead. How could she have forgotten that there was a vaccine available to prevent the plague!

Antibodies develop one month after the plague vaccine is administered, reaching their peak at six months. While administering the vaccine at this point may seem like a belated measure, it's better than nothing.

There were fifty plague vaccines in the incubator. Banxia took out six: "Nanxing, I'll give you one shot first. After you finish the other five, take them to Yaoge and Yuange."

She didn't want to reveal her supernatural abilities in front of Su Yao and the others, so sending them preventative vaccines was the best way to fulfill her friend's duty.

Nanxing dusted off his hands and half-squatted down in front of Banxia: "Thank you, wife."

After getting vaccinated, Nanxing went out to deliver the vaccines to Su Yao and the others. Banxia found the RV and packed it with ten days' worth of food, water, cat and dog food, and basic medical supplies.

The space is convenient and easy to use, but it's best to avoid using it when you're out. Every little thing leaves a trace, and who knows when someone might discover something amiss?

When Nanxing returned, Su Yao, Fang Yunyun, Su Xiao, Cai Yuan, and Zhao Xuan followed behind him, each carrying a large amount of things.

Banxia looked at Nanxing with a puzzled expression, while Nanxing's eyes were filled with a helpless smile.

Fang Yunyun placed the two boxes of ham on the sofa: "This is a thank-you gift for the vaccine. You can't refuse it!"

Su Yao, Su Xiao, Cai Yuan, and Zhao Xuan nodded frantically: "We'll get angry if you refuse!"

Canned food, biscuits, energy bars... the things in their hands piled up to the brim on the sofa.

Banxia knew they weren't the type to take advantage of others: "Don't worry, I'll take them all."

Friendships should be reciprocal; one-sided giving is not sustainable.

Fang Yunyun hugged Banxia tightly and rubbed against her: "That's more like it!"

Banxia pushed her away helplessly. Sister Yunyun, as always, loved to be close to girls: "Have you all made up your minds?"

Fang Yunyun and the others exchanged glances: "We've decided, let's go!"

Banxia was not surprised by the result: "Nanxing and I will go too."

As the sun rose above the horizon, the group found Li Kongyuan, following the first rays of sunlight.

Li Kongyuan had barely slept all night. When he saw the group, he couldn't help but break into a bright smile on his tired face: "You've come."

Nanxing, who was most familiar with him, took over the conversation: "Director Li, we are willing to sign an employment contract with you, but we have two small requests that we hope you can agree to."

Li Kongyuan's heart skipped a beat, fearing that the others would make exorbitant demands, and his face twitched involuntarily.

Nanxing immediately realized he had misunderstood and quickly explained, "Don't worry, we don't have any objections to the payment."

Li Kongyuan breathed a sigh of relief: "Go ahead."

Nanxing stated the demands that the group had agreed upon: "First, we are not good at dealing with people, so we will only search for supplies and will not be responsible for rescuing survivors."

He was lying through his teeth. Of the seven of them, only Banxia and Su Xiao, two socially awkward people, were truly bad at interacting with others.

The remaining five people have long-standing relationships with the media, and even if they haven't developed the skill of speaking to people in a way that suits them, they have absolutely no problem communicating normally.

"Second, if we encounter unreasonable survivors, we can deal with them ourselves."

This was Banxia's idea. She was impatient with getting entangled with people, and she believed that death would eliminate the trouble. She would kill anyone who displeased her.

Li Kongyuan immediately agreed and added, "We plan to leave in an hour and a half. Will you ride in our car or drive yourselves? If you drive yourselves, you'll receive a subsidy of ten liters of gasoline per day."

Nanxing: "We'll drive ourselves."

Li Kongyuan was somewhat disappointed: "Aren't your pets and mutated trees together?"

He glanced at Banxia discreetly. According to Zhou Wen, the little girl had a cat, a dog, and a strange-looking but very powerful mutated tree!

He had seen mutated plants before, but this was the first time he had heard of mutated plants being usable by humans.

If they could learn from the little girl how to subdue mutated plants, their warriors might be able to acquire one or two mutated plants to supplement their fighting strength.

But there's no rush; we can find out more gradually.

Nanxing: "Go, we have a motorhome."

He and Banxia would never leave the three fluffy creatures alone at home; otherwise, if something happened, it would be too late to regret it.

Li Kongyuan immediately beamed with joy: "The subsidies for pets are the same as for people; you will definitely receive your share!"

"We currently have three rescue teams."

"Group 1, North City Material Reserve Depot."

"Group Two, Chengbei Logistics Park."

"Group Three, North City Hospital."

"The three groups are in the same direction, so the rescue shouldn't be too difficult. Do any of the three groups have a preferred direction?"

Nanxing and Banxia exchanged a glance: "Banxia and I are going to the logistics park."
