Chapter 331: Being Injured

Chapter 331: Being Injured

But he fell backwards uncontrollably. Thinking of the children behind him, he would definitely crush them if he fell on them, so he forced himself to change direction.

But in doing so, little Cheng Li sprained his waist. He grimaced in pain but dared not cry out, and could only gasp continuously.

"Cheng Li, are you okay?"

Wu Xiaolin took a look at the broken wooden board and was shocked. Although Cheng Li was young, he was very strong. If he could break another wooden board, they could get out.

"Go see if you can open the window."

Wu Xiaolin nodded, found the window latch, and began to fiddle with it nervously. The latch was finally opened, and Wu Xiaolin pushed the window open with force.

However, the window could only be opened a crack and could not be pushed any further. Wu Xiaolin leaned over to take a closer look and found that there were several horizontal wooden boards outside the window, nailing the window tightly.

"Cheng Li, we don't need to bother. The outside is nailed shut, and I can't see what's outside. Even if we open it, what if it's the living room? We'll be trapped."

Little Cheng Li finally caught his breath and crawled over to look out through the gap. As expected, apart from knowing that it was daytime and the sun was shining brightly, he could not see anything else.

The door suddenly opened. It turned out that the woman wanted to apply some medicine on Cheng Li's face. She was worried that the child would be disfigured and could not be sold at a good price.

When she saw Cheng Li and Wu Xiaolin standing by the window looking out, with a torn wooden board at their feet, she immediately screamed:

"Boss, come quickly, the two children are trying to run away."

Cheng Li was startled and quickly got off the kang. As soon as he stood up, the man who had hit him appeared at the door. He jumped onto the kang and carefully checked the window.

He forcefully inserted the bolt they had opened, and then fetched tools to nail the bolt shut. Then he looked at Cheng Li and Wu Xiaolin with a sinister look in his eyes.

Wu Xiaolin was so scared that she was shaking all over. Little Cheng Li stood in front of Wu Xiaolin and blocked her with his small shoulders. This action made the man laugh:

"Hey, you know how to pick up girls at such a young age. Tell me, who did it?"

"I did it."

"You want to escape."

“It’s illegal to be a human trafficker.”

"I broke the law. I broke your mother's law. You want to escape, right? Then I will break your legs."

"You dare."

"Say it again, and see if I dare."

Little Cheng Li's mind flashed with the movements of Li Huan practicing boxing, and he rushed directly towards the man. However, he knew that he was too young and not tall enough, so his punch hit the man's leg.

“Fuck…”

Xiao Chengli was very strong, and although the punch did not break the man's leg, it made the man scream in pain. In an instant, the man's eyes turned red, and he grabbed Xiao Chengli by the collar and threw him out.

"Bang..."

Little Cheng Li was thrown by him onto the big kang opposite, and his head hit the wall. He immediately saw stars and passed out.

"Boss, you..."

The woman wanted to scold the man for being so reckless, but when she saw the man's bloodshot eyes, she suddenly dared not speak. However, she still ran over in a hurry. If she threw the man to death, she would lose her money.

The back of Cheng Li's head began to swell up slowly and his face turned pale. The woman was a little nervous and looked at the man but didn't dare to speak.

The man was also a little anxious. He had acted too quickly in anger. After all, the child was only eight years old. How could the punch he hit him have been so heavy? How could he not control his temper?

"Boss, do you want to send him to the hospital?"

"Send it your ass, you don't mind doing too much."

The man glared and was about to leave. Wu Xiaolin was anxious and tried her best to suppress her fear. She stood in front of the man and knelt down with her knees bent:

"Uncle, please save him. Sell me and use the money to save him."

The man glanced at Wu Xiaolin, raised his foot and kicked Wu Xiaolin directly on the shoulder. Wu Xiaolin could not withstand such a kick and fell to the ground.

The woman was anxious. She had worked so hard to trick these children into coming to her, and it would be all in vain if they became disabled. But she did not dare to get angry with her man, so she could only pick up Wu Xiaolin and put her on the kang.

"Don't do anything weird again, or I won't give you food."

After threatening Wu Xiaolin, the woman went out. Not long after, she came back with a thick quilt. She was really worried that little Cheng Li would die. If he was warmer, she could at least delay the death for a few days and find a buyer who was easy to deceive to buy him away.

Wu Xiaolin covered little Chengli with the quilt. Worried that he would be cold, she hugged him tightly and kept breathing on his face, as if this was the only way to transfer the heat to little Chengli.

A day passed, and just when Wu Xiaolin was so anxious that she could only cry, little Chengli opened his eyes and felt a severe pain in the back of his head. He felt dizzy and disoriented if he moved the slightest.

"Cheng Li, you woke up. I was scared to death."

"Who are you."

"Ah, you didn't hit your brain, did you? I'm Wu Xiaolin."

Little Chengli didn't answer, but closed his eyes and fell asleep again. Wu Xiaolin was scared to death. She put her trembling little hand under Little Chengli's nose, and felt relieved when she felt that he was still breathing.

Little Cheng Li fell asleep. He had been drinking the well water in Cheng Qiao's space since he was a child, so he had no idea that the cells in his body were working hard to recover, especially his brain, where the swelling was slowly going down.

When he woke up again, his mind was much clearer. Wu Xiaolin saw Cheng Li opened his eyes and happily came over:

"Are you okay? Are you hungry? I hid my dinner and I'll give it to you."

Little Cheng Li glanced at Wu Xiaolin apologetically: "You were beaten too."

"No."

Wu Xiaolin said no, but she touched the place where she was kicked. It was already bruised and it really hurt to the bone.

"I was in a coma for a few days."

"I was unconscious for a day and a half, and slept for a day and a half, so it's been three days."

Little Chengli began to count the days, starting from the night he was taken away. He stayed in the guesthouse for one night, was knocked unconscious and brought here, was starved for two days, and was unconscious for three days. It was almost a week.

He doesn’t know if his parents will go crazy this week, so he must find a way to get out, even if it’s just finding someone to tell the news.

Looking at the half pancake in Wu Xiaolin's hand, little Cheng Li shook his head. He was not hungry and let Wu Xiaolin eat it by herself because he heard Wu Xiaolin's stomach rumbling.

Wu Xiaolin was also stubborn. She stuffed the bread into little Cheng Li's mouth. That bad woman poured water into Cheng Li's mouth every day and didn't give him any food at all.

Little Cheng Li couldn't persuade Wu Xiaolin, so he tore the bread into two halves. They each took a bite and ate it. It would have been fine if they hadn't eaten it, because after eating it, they felt even hungrier.

"Hush, someone's coming in."
