Chapter 101 The Health Problem is Imminent

Qin Qianqian lowered her head timidly and walked cautiously to the door, but she still refused to step inside.

Nangong Huiyu asked curiously, "What are you standing there for? Come in."

"Ladies, I... have a sexually transmitted disease."

Nangong Huiyu and Song Yuxi exchanged a glance. Lu Tu hadn't mentioned this earlier. They had thought she was just a poor woman struggling to survive, but they hadn't expected her to be so miserable.

A gentle smile appeared on Song Yuxi's face as she comforted her, "Then wait here, we'll prepare the medicine for you, and then you can take it, okay?"

"I wouldn't dare trouble you two ladies; I can manage on my own."

"What can you do? Hurry up and drink this." Nangong Huiyu poured some garlic extract into the earthenware bowl and handed it to him.

"Thank you." Qin Qianqian obediently drank the medicine.

After handing the medicine to Nangong Huiyu, Lü Tu suggested, "Xiaoyu, help her brew the medicine. I'll find her an empty room to stay in for now, and she can live with other people after she recovers."

Song Yuxi nodded: "My husband is very thoughtful, and this is only right."

He waved to Qin Qianqian: "Come with me!"

He led her to Liu Hu, who was on night duty at the warehouse, and asked, "Hu Zi, are there any vacant houses left in our village?"

"My elder brother is gone."

Liu Hu glanced at Qin Qianqian and naturally understood that Lü Tu was looking for a place for her to stay: "Brother, why don't you let this girl stay in the refugee shack? Once everyone has built the new wooden house in a few days, she'll have a place to live."

Lu Tu shook his head and said, "No need, you go ahead with your work, I'll show her around a bit more."

He had actually considered this, but quickly dismissed it. The main reason was that Qin Qianqian was quite attractive, and her situation was different from Jiang Wanyu's. When Jiang Wanyu lived in a shack, she was pretending to be a beggar.

Qin Qianqian's feminine characteristics are too obvious, and she's too naive to pretend, so Lu Tu wouldn't use her to test human nature.

If he dared to put Qin Qianqian in the refugee shack, the venereal disease would probably spread to many people in less than one night, and it would also cause great harm to Qin Qianqian.

Seeing Lu Tu in such a predicament, Qin Qianqian was moved: "My benefactor, I'm sorry to have troubled you. I don't need a place to stay. I often sleep on the streets myself. It's alright."

Lu Tu suddenly slapped his forehead: "Oh right, we have a woodshed at home. You can make do there for now, and I'll go find you some bedding."

When he returned with Qin Qianqian, Song Yuxi seemed to have anticipated it and had already thoughtfully prepared a slightly worn quilt.

"Miss Qin, please make do with this place for now. We'll buy you some cloth to make you a new dress when the weather gets warmer."

As women themselves, they could easily tell whether Qin Qianqian was genuinely naive or just pretending. Moreover, Song Yuxi and Nangong Huiyu were both discerning women; ordinary green tea bitches couldn't escape their eyes at all.

Especially those who can maintain a pure heart after suffering so much hardship must have no bad intentions.

Qin Qianqian watched as Song Yuxi hugged the quilt, while Nangong Huiyu looked at her with a smile. Although the light in the room was dim, it brought her a long-lost warmth.

This sudden, familial care made Qin Qianqian, who had experienced the coldness and indifference of human relationships, feel apprehensive. She knelt down with a thud and said, "Thank you, Madam. Thank you, benefactor."

"Get up quickly. You don't need to be so polite here. We don't stand on ceremony."

"Yes, you are destined to be with your husband, which means you are destined to be with us. From now on, you can live here peacefully, and no one will dare to bully you anymore."

Tears streamed down Qin Qianqian's face as she nodded, her lips pressed tightly together. "Qianqian understands." She took the bedding and followed Lü Tu toward the woodshed.

This room was originally intended to be used as a kitchen, but Lu Tu and the others had a stove in their room for heating, so they usually used that stove for cooking, which saved some coal and firewood. Now it was convenient to give it to Qin Qianqian to live in.

Before long, the medicine was ready. After giving it to Qin Qianqian, Lü Tu grabbed a handful of wood ash from under the stove and used it to disinfect himself.

After washing up and lying in bed, Lü Tu, unusually, did not touch or grab the two of them.

Nangong Huiyu asked curiously, "Why is my husband being so well-behaved tonight? It's not like you at all."

Song Yuxi smiled and said, "Perhaps my husband is afraid of disturbing Miss Qin next door."

Lu Tu was actually worried that he had been in contact with Qin Qianqian today, and if there were any bacteria on his hands that he hadn't washed off properly, it wouldn't be good to infect the two of them.

Qin Qianqian's arrival also served as a reminder to Lü Tu that he needed to make the soap as soon as possible, otherwise, with the weather warming up and the population growing densely, various hygiene problems would inevitably arise.

If a flu outbreak were to occur, it would be difficult to cope with the current level of medical supplies.

Moreover, doing nothing and simply feeling each other's heartbeats gave Lü Tu a different kind of peace of mind.

He fell into a deep sleep soon after, but the next morning, Lü Tu was awakened by the sound of arguing outside.

He rolled over, put on his clothes, and went outside. He saw that Qin Qianqian had already gotten up and was being scolded by a villager who pointed at her and said, "You filthy thing, you still dare to come here? You ate two of my buns for free last time, and you lied to me about having a sexually transmitted disease. Luckily, I was careful. Now you still dare to come to the village looking for me?"

Qin Qianqian was so anxious she was almost crying: "I didn't come looking for you."

"You still say you're not here to look for me? Who the hell in the village knows you except me? If you don't get out of here, believe me, I'll break your legs!"

Lu Tu recognized this man; he was Zhao Liang's cousin, Zhao Kang, who drove an oxcart in Kuishan Village. After being allocated oxen, he frequently traveled between Wuchuan and the village to help Liu Yang and Liu Hu transport goods.

Lu Tu said in a serious tone, "Zhao Kang."
