No sooner had Hu Delu finished speaking than a cry of pain came from the blacksmith shop.
The two looked in the direction of the sound and were startled to see a clumsy apprentice pinned down by a pile of spears.
Lu Tu quickly ran up and rescued the apprentice. After the apprentice was out, Hu Delu examined his whole body and found that he only had bruises and no other injuries.
Unable to contain herself, she pointed at his nose and yelled, "Didn't you eat? You can't even lift this little thing and almost got stabbed by a gun! If you're ever this reckless again, you can go back to farming!"
The apprentice hung his head, trembling with fear, and said meekly, "I'm sorry, Master, my hands are tired from hitting you."
"You..." Hu Delu was about to continue cursing when he heard this, but Lu Tu stopped him: "Old Hu, do you think everyone is as tough as you? It's good that you're not injured. Be careful next time."
Hu Delu glared at him: "Hurry up and thank Lord Lü, or I'll kick you out!"
"Thank you, Lord Lü. Thank you, Master. I'll get back to work now."
Hu Delu spread his hands: "Sir, you've seen it too. These kids are just like me, working non-stop these days and haven't had a proper rest at all. This is the third time this has happened today. I'm really afraid these guys will get hurt here. I can't reason with them, so I can only scold them to teach them a lesson."
Lu Tu nodded apologetically: "You guys have indeed worked hard, but who told you to be so skilled?"
Hu Delu waved his hand: "It's not a technical issue, it's just that it's tiring. Carrying heavy iron and weapons every day is too physically demanding."
Lu Tu looked at Hu Delu: "Don't you have any lifting equipment?"
"What the hell?"
"It's just a tool to save effort."
"Never seen it before."
Lu Tu was speechless. No wonder Hu Delu's face had turned sallow lately; he must be exhausted.
He beckoned to Hu Delu and said, "Come with me. I'll help you resolve this today, and you'll never have to lift heavy loads again."
"real?"
"I'm lying to you because you can't have a son."
"My lord, please don't joke around. I, Old Hu, would love for you to have more sons, preferably all as fierce as you, who can slaughter the Wuhuan traitors without leaving a single piece of armor."
Lu Tu put his arm around Hu Delu's shoulder and headed towards the place where the logs were stored. Before leaving, he also asked Hu Delu to take a hammer and some scrap ironware with him.
The consumption of logs was enormous; they were all used to build houses for the refugees, but those houses were burned down in a fire.
Therefore, a large gap has been cut into this primeval forest near Aiying Mountain. Fortunately, the forest is large enough to support the village's development needs.
Arriving at the logs pile, Hu Delu rolled up his sleeves, spat on his hands, and asked, "Sir, what's the plan?"
Lu Tu waved his hand: "You can rest for a while and watch from the side."
Hu Delu was somewhat moved. If it were anyone else, they would never let Hu Delu rest and would treat him like a beast of burden. But after listening to his complaints, Lü Tu actually made him sit down and watch. What kind of official is this?
Lu Tu first went to find a saw, then found a log 20 centimeters thick. He then had the refugees dig a small pit of the same thickness, and then sawed off a section of the log and smashed it into the pit.
Hu Delu craned his neck to the side, but he was completely baffled and didn't know what Lü Tu was up to. However, since Lü Tu could come up with the method of smelting iron in a blast furnace, he must have some tricks up his sleeve.
Then Lü Tu found a log about the thickness of an arm, propped it up with small wooden stakes in the middle, and finally used scraps of ironware brought by Hu Delu as nails to fix it in place.
Of course, one piece is longer than the other, so that the lever principle can be used to lift the heavy object.
At this moment, Lü Tu had someone bring a rope and smiled at Hu Delu, saying, "Old Hu, have someone carry that log over here!"
Seeing that Lu Tu Shou was pointing to the 20-centimeter-thick log, Hu Delu asked in surprise, "Sir, you mean...?"
Lu Tu nodded: "Stop talking nonsense, hurry up!"
Hu Delu called over a young man, and the two of them worked together to lift the log to the other end of the crane. Lu Tu clapped his hands and shouted, "Everyone, look over here!"
Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at Lü Tu blankly. He was standing next to a tall, upturned wooden stake, looking smug.
They asked, puzzled, "Sir, what are you looking at?"
"My lord, you are indeed even more handsome than yesterday. If I were ten years younger, I would be willing to be your concubine."
Lu Tu said seriously, "Don't be ridiculous. Do you think I can lift it by myself?"
"Your strength is superhuman, you can definitely do it."
Lu Tu didn't want to keep them in suspense any longer. He reached out, grabbed the high-raised log, and pulled it down.
The log that required two people to lift was pulled up by Lü Tu with just one hand.
This scene caused everyone to gasp in astonishment: "My God, the lord is too powerful! No wonder he could kill so many Wuhuan people!"
"If only I were like an adult, I could try different positions with my wife. She always wants me to pick her up..."
Lu Tu, sweating profusely, pointed at the thin, dark-skinned man who had said he wanted to pick up his wife and asked, "What's your name?"
"Oh? My name is Li Erniu."
Someone nearby immediately scoffed, "You're so skinny, you don't look like a cow at all!"
Lu Tu waved to him: "Li Erniu, where's your wife?"
A woman who was a head taller than Li Erniu stepped out from the back of the crowd: "Sir, I am Li Erniu's wife."
Lu Tu pointed to the log in front of him: "Someone, take this log away. Li Erniu's wife, lie down here!"
