Song Yuxi turned around in a panic and found that Wang Min had already entered the house and sat down in a chair very familiarly, staring intently at Song Yuxi.
"Yes, she looks just like me! I met your mother once before, and she was a really kind person."
Song Yuxi's tears fell in a stream: "Madam, have you really seen my mother?"
"General Song, the daughter of one of the Eight Pillars of State, actually lives in a place like this. This new emperor should really step down!"
Upon hearing this, everyone present was startled, and Cuiguo quickly retreated and slammed the door shut.
Inside the room were only Lu Tu and his wife, along with Wang Min, and only they could hear what was being said. For Cui Guo, this might mean certain death.
Song Yuxi wiped away her tears and quickly regained her composure: "Madam, you are too kind. I am very happy and content to have married my husband. There is nothing wrong with it."
Wang Min then looked at Jiang Wanyu, who hadn't said a word the whole time, and asked, "Whose daughter are you?"
"Jiang Wanyu has met the old lady."
"Oh, so you're a girl from the Jiang family in Longcheng. I've met your mother before."
Hearing this, Lü Tu sighed and rubbed his forehead: "Grandma, when I went to the capital back then, I was busy making friends every day, right? How come you know everyone?"
Wang Min glared at Lü Tu: "Can't I even make friends? I went to the capital to do business back then. I own the largest fat shop in the capital. What's so strange about knowing a few noble ladies?"
Lu Tu nodded: "You continue, sir."
"Not only do I know you, I also know who wiped out your mother's entire Gao family!"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Wanyu was once again shocked and trembled all over.
She then knelt down with a thud, her eyes pleading: "Wanyu begs the old lady to tell us who exactly went to slander the late emperor, leading to the extermination of my mother's family."
Wang Min coldly uttered a few words: "It's your own grandfather, Jiang Taihua!"
"What?"
Wang Min nodded: "Although I don't have any evidence, it's pretty much true. The fact that you can come here probably means that your father isn't a good person either, am I right?"
"Yes, the old lady is incredibly insightful!"
Wang Min's gaze finally landed on Nangong Huiyu, who raised an eyebrow: "Grandma, you don't know my mother, do you?"
"I don't know you, I just think you're really beautiful."
"Thank you for the compliment, ma'am. I think so too."
Wang Min's gaze swept over the people present: "Any one of you women could have been a concubine or even an empress, but you all ended up marrying Lü Tu by some twist of fate. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."
Lu Tu retorted, "Is marrying me something so shameful?"
"Marrying you is not bad, but the starting point is a bit low. In prosperous times, beauty is a great wealth and opportunity, but in this chaotic world, it is a disaster. Do you have the ability to protect your wives?"
Lu Tu said in a deep voice, "I can."
"Yes, I believe you can do it too, otherwise I would have just taken Miaoling away."
Lu Tu asked in bewilderment, "Grandma, now that you've revealed everyone's identities, isn't there going to be a follow-up?"
Wang Min stared intently at Lü Tu: "The current emperor is tyrannical, the people are filled with resentment, and the borders are constantly being invaded by foreign tribes. With so many supporters, don't you want to take his place?"
Nangong Huiyu immediately became interested upon hearing this, and took the initiative to sit next to Wang Min. She patted Wang Min on the shoulder and said, "Grandma, you really suit my temperament. I didn't expect that we would think of the same thing. To be honest, I am the most knowledgeable about rebellion!"
"Xiaoyu!" Lu Tu reminded her.
Wang Min laughed and said, "You mischievous girl, I, this old woman, can say such rebellious things. Aren't you afraid of being beheaded?"
"Afraid? Anyone who dares to harm my husband, even if it's the emperor himself, I'll make sure their blood is spilled on the spot!"
Wang Min's eyes widened, and she exclaimed, "Good heavens, Lu Tu, what kind of fate do you have? Is it really the fate of a true dragon emperor? How come you are surrounded by such exquisite women, and they all like you so much?"
Lu Tu shrugged: "Maybe it's because our ancestral graves are emitting auspicious smoke."
Wang Min glanced at him sideways and said, "I don't care about all that. Anyway, the last son of my Wang family has already married you, so you have to take responsibility for my Wang family!"
"I'll take responsibility!"
"That's not what I meant. What I meant was that if you want to protect your family in chaotic times, you must have lofty ideals. A person without foresight will have immediate worries. So you need to think carefully from now on about whether you want to do something big!"
Nangong Huiyu listened with sparkling eyes: "Grandma, did you used to be a member of the White Lotus Sect? How come you seem to be even more persuasive than the White Lotus Sect? It makes me want to join you in a big fight."
Wang Min smiled wryly and said, "I'm just an old woman talking casually. If you want to, you can listen to me. If you don't want to, I won't force you."
Lu Tu understood the implication. He knew that Wang Min was testing him, but now was not the time to express his attitude and stance with empty words.
After all, things are accomplished in secrecy. If a person tells anyone about the important things they are about to do, they will never achieve anything great.
Lu Tu shook his head and said, "We are already doing very well. We have enough to eat and wear, and we can be with our wives every day. We are also doing something that will bring honor to our ancestors by protecting the frontier. I think we are doing just fine."
Wang Min nodded: "That's good, that's good. I'm too tired, I'm going to rest first. You don't need to worry about me, just have someone send me some meals every day."
