Chapter 47 Slaughter of the Village

Lu Tu waved his hand and charged forward, sword in hand, shouting, "Kill!"

Nie Yun and his group followed closely behind. The aura emanating from this group of more than twenty people completely overwhelmed the people from Hejia Village.

Before they could recover from their panic, they suddenly saw Lü Tu charging towards them, and were immediately terrified.

"Kill the outsiders first!" With a roar, the people of Hejia Village were awakened, but how could they possibly organize a strong resistance?

Lu Tu rushed in and killed many, with one of the villagers being stabbed through the stomach with a long sword.

But the other party gripped the long sword tightly with both hands, stomped his right foot on the ground, and muttered: "The mud originates from chaos, the white lotus appears to usher in a prosperous era."

The excruciating pain turned his eyes bloodshot, and even though the long knife had ripped out his intestines, it still couldn't stop his frenzy.

These are no longer villagers; they're clearly a bunch of idiots who've gone mad!

Lu Tu showed no mercy, drawing his long sword and slashing his neck, ending his life completely.

This scene continued to unfold throughout Hejia Village, with Nie Yun and his companions encountering fierce resistance.

Although the people from Hejia Village had not received formal military training, they were well-fed and quite strong, causing considerable trouble for Nie Yun and his group.

Fortunately, with Lu Tu leading the charge, they quickly dealt with the tough guys in the village. Strangely, in such a large village, there were only one-fifth of the women, and not a single child.

This made Lu Tu feel a little better. No matter how hard-hearted he was, he still couldn't bring himself to wield a butcher's knife against a group of children.

Before long, most of the people in Hejia Village had been dealt with, and the few villagers had plunged into the surrounding woods, clearly unable to be pursued any further.

We've already alerted them, so we can't stay here any longer. The White Lotus Sect is a group that's always hiding in multiple places, and their followers in other locations have probably already discovered what's going on here.

Time is running out for Lü Tu.

Nie Yun grabbed Niu San and asked, "Where are the gold and silver hidden?"

Niu San stared at the outhouse engulfed in flames, speechless for a moment: "I...I don't know where I am now, I can't tell."

Lu Tu kicked him squarely in the face, and Niu San's nose tilted at an odd angle as he collapsed to the ground unconscious.

"search!"

At Lu Tu's command, everyone immediately scattered and searched the entire Hejia Village.

While we're at it, let's see if there are any villagers still clinging to life, and finish them off as we go.

Lu Tu didn't press the villagers about the location of the gold and silver. These people had been completely brainwashed, just like Liang Dashan. Even if he broke their hands and feet on the spot, he probably wouldn't get any information out of them. It was better to save some time to search the two houses.

"Big brother! We've found something here!"

As Zhao Liang's voice came, Lü Tu rushed over and found a collapsed wooden house with a burnt wooden plank on the ground, revealing a dark tunnel inside.

Lu Tu grabbed a torch and threw it down. After waiting for 10 seconds, the torch was still burning, and Lu Tu went in first.

Nie Yun consciously stood guard outside to prevent any villagers who had slipped away from returning.

Lu Tu, who had entered the tunnel, had not gone far into the depths of the tunnel when he suddenly smelled a foul, fishy odor.

He remembered this smell once before, back in his previous life when he was on a mission in the tropical jungle and discovered a human-eating anaconda. That anaconda had this smell back then.

Behind Lü Tu, Zhao Liang and the others said, "Be careful, there's a wild beast."

Everyone felt a chill and instantly split into groups of three, back to back, on guard. This was one of the defensive tactics that Lü Tu had taught them.

The tunnel was extremely long, and after winding and turning for dozens of steps, a foul stench came from ahead. It was pitch black, and there was no time to wait for the firelight to see what the creature on the other side looked like.

Lu Tu immediately held his sword horizontally against his chest, and a huge wolf head pounced, biting right into the long sword.

To be honest, this was the first time Lu Tu had ever seen such a big wolf in his two lifetimes. Moreover, this wolf was different from the wild wolves outside. The wild wolves outside have green eyes, but this one had red eyes!

Lu Tu's longsword was firmly stuck in his hand, and the giant wolf's sharp claws reached for Lu Tu's chest the moment it landed.

He could only subconsciously release his longsword and dodge backward. At that moment, Zhao Liang also slashed at him with his sword, hitting the giant wolf squarely in the back and leaving a deep wound that reached the bone.

The giant wolf let out an angry howl, which was amplified many times in the empty tunnel, making people's eardrums go numb.

Lu Tu dodged the giant wolf's attack with a somersault, and while the wolf was lunging at the others, he picked up the knife on the ground and plunged it into the wolf's abdomen. With a twist, he created a half-meter-long wound.

The giant wolf's internal organs and intestines spilled onto the ground instantly, and its life force was drained away, leaving it powerless to attack again.

Lu Tu severed the giant wolf's throat with a single stroke before finally killing it.

He was already experiencing oxygen deprivation from vigorous activity in this stifling environment. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and hurried deeper into the area.

The others helped each other up and followed. The place where the giant wolf was located was an underground space about ten meters square. In addition to more than a dozen boxes, there were also bones scattered all over the ground.

Looking at the shape of the bones, Lü Tu's heart grew cold: "Those demons of the White Lotus Sect actually fed living people to wolves!"

The fear of cannibalism is ingrained in human beings, one of the oldest genes. It is inevitable that a normal person would feel a deep-seated fear upon seeing the corpse of their own kind being devoured by other animals.

At this moment, Zhao Liang and the others huddled together in a sly manner: "Brother, this should be the hidden gold and silver."

Lu Tu opened a box, which contained not only gold and silver, but also many jewels and ornaments. They looked exquisitely crafted, clearly not something that artisans from the border region could have made.

But why did they hide these things in Wuchuan?

Lu Tu didn't have time to think about this problem. The flame of the torch in his hand was getting smaller and smaller, indicating that there was not much oxygen left inside the tunnel.

"Move out!"

Lu Tu took the lead, hoisted a box of gold and silver, and ran quickly out of the passage. Nie Yun and the others rushed over to help.

Lu Tu refused them, saying, "No need to help me. Quickly go find some planks and fan the air into the tunnel!"

Nie Yun and the others did not understand Lu Tu's purpose in doing this, but they would resolutely carry it out without asking why, and simply did as Lu Tu instructed.

After an incense stick had burned, all the gold and silver inside were finally moved out. Zhao Liang and the others brought over horses and a flatbed cart, loaded the boxes onto them, and then breathed a sigh of relief.

"Brother, what should we do about him?" Nie Yun pointed at Niu San.

"kill!"

With Lü Tu's order, Niu San died while still unconscious, which was a quick death for him.

Just as they were leaving Hejia Village, a clear, cold voice rang out from afar: "You audacious scoundrels, how dare you plunder my White Lotus Sect!"
