Chapter 58: Worshiping the Strong?

Nie Yun gripped his longsword tightly and anxiously stepped forward to ask, "Brother, should we kill him or not?"

Lu Tu frowned: "We definitely have to kill them, but not these women."

As he spoke, he quickly pulled out a horn bow from behind him, and with his excellent core strength, he drew the bowstring to its fullest extent and aimed at the burly man holding a whip.

To avoid escalating the conflict, Lü Tu did not use his signature five-shot technique, otherwise the situation would be difficult to control after he killed the others.

The bowstring twanged softly, and before the burly man could react, he collapsed to the ground.

Upon seeing this, the strong man's companions in the group of refugees hurriedly ran back, but how could they compare to Lü Tu's reaction?

He drew his bow three times in succession and killed three people. But when he was about to shoot a fourth arrow, he found that these damned bastards had lifted the child up to protect his face, making it impossible for Lü Tu to strike.

At this moment, a row of dozens of women had rushed forward. Their eyes were full of fearlessness and determination, just as the strong man had said. They were willing to do anything for a bite to eat.

Without another word, Lu Tu raised his sword and beheaded the fierce woman at the front, shouting, "Everyone, stop right now! I've killed those bad guys who bullied you!"

Blood gushed from the headless body of the shrew, splattering onto those around her and briefly plunging them into fear.

Upon hearing Lü Tu's words, they turned around and saw the corpses with their heads pierced, but they did not stop as Lü Tu had planned.

Instead, many women erupted in unusual hatred, roaring at Lü Tu and the others, "They protected us all the way, and you not only refused to give us food, but you also killed them?"

Nie Yun stepped forward and held a knife to the woman's neck, scolding, "They're bullying you like this, and you're still taking their side?"

Lu Tu looked at the wounds covering the women's bodies, which were clearly inflicted by the strong men, yet the women were still defending them.

He suddenly remembered a theory he had learned in his previous life called Stockholm Syndrome, also known as hostage syndrome.

This is a mental illness that refers to a victim developing dependence on and obedience to the perpetrator in extremely dangerous situations.

It is related to the self-protection mechanism in the human brain and the subconscious worship of the strong. Even psychologists from past lives would find it difficult to cure this disease.

Lu Tu didn't have time to waste with them. In this world where human life was less valuable than cattle and horses, he needed to use drastic measures!

Since they admire and obey the strong, then they should become the strong ones themselves!

Lu Tu Chong's men waved their hands and shouted, "Anyone who dares to take another step forward will be killed without mercy!"

This is exactly what everyone has been waiting for: living in this chaotic world, learning to disregard life is a compulsory course for everyone!

Knowing he couldn't reason with these people, Lu Tu decided it was better to kill a few to establish his authority. After saying this, he stepped out from the crowd and strode into the group of refugees. Anyone who dared to show hostility towards him, regardless of gender, was killed by him with a single stroke, without any hesitation!

Although he knew that some of the dead were likely innocent, he did not have the time or energy to discern their identities.

Anyone who shows hostility towards you at such a moment, even if that's not their intention, can only be blamed on being either dim-witted or unlucky.

In chaotic times, being brainless and having bad luck are among the causes of death, and you can't blame anyone else!

Nie Yun and the others followed behind Lü Tu, killing many people along the way. Blood flowed everywhere they went, a terrifying sight.

Lu Tu was the first to approach the burly man's companion, who was much thinner. He lifted a boy of about five years old in front of him and threatened, "You have violated the laws of the Great Yu Kingdom by daring to kill someone in public!"

"Put the child down, and I'll give you a quick death!"

Lu Tu's words were firm and unquestionable; this was the maximum leniency he could offer.

The skinny monkey sneered, "Go to hell! I just want to live!"

As he spoke, he threw the boy toward Lü Tu. Instead of running away, he pulled out a dagger from his pocket and took the opportunity to stab Lü Tu.

As a special forces king, Lü Tu noticed the slightest movement of the skinny monkey's shoulder. Saving the child was almost ingrained in Lü Tu's bones, becoming one of his subconscious instincts.

Even though his mind told him he could abandon the child, his hands still grabbed the child and held him protectively in his arms. At that moment, the skinny monkey's dagger stabbed at him, and Lu Tu's movements were restricted, so he could only barely dodge the vital point and use his other hand holding the knife to block it.

With a soft thud, the rusty dagger pierced through Lü Tu's tiger's mouth and plunged into his abdomen. A hint of triumphant pleasure flashed in the skinny monkey's eyes.

Despite the excruciating pain, Lü Tu kicked the skinny monkey in the groin. With a sharp crack, the skinny monkey clutched his crotch and rolled on the ground in agony.

"Big brother!"

"Commander!"

"Lord Lü!"

Upon seeing this, Nie Yun, Liu Yang, Sun Meng, Sun Kuang, Chai Yong, and the others behind him instantly turned bloodshot and recklessly killed everyone who dared to block their path, protecting Lü Tu in the middle.

Liu Yang took the child, tears welling up in his eyes: "Brother, I'll take you home right away."

Sweat beaded on Lü Tu's forehead. He looked down to check his injuries, tore off a piece of cloth to bandage and stop the bleeding, and shook his head, saying, "Kill all those people who threatened the refugees, I'm fine!"

Upon hearing this, Liu Yang and the others finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Big Brother is alright. Kill all those troublemakers!"

Upon hearing this, the villagers and military slaves were as if they had been injected with chicken blood. They roughly pushed aside the refugees blocking their way and began hunting down the troublemakers.
