215 Chasing Each Other
Li Wei and her third aunt walked confidently up to the ninth-floor guest room section of the hotel.
Actually, it was Aunt Luo who had such an imposing presence; Li Wei was just a little follower.
What impressed Li Wei even more about her third aunt was that, with just one phone call, someone actually had the receptionist find out her room number—911.
That's room 911 where the plane crashed into the World Trade Center.
After a knock, someone quickly opened the door. Before the door was fully open, the third aunt forcefully pushed her way in.
Compared to Li Wei's petite figure, her aunt's large, wavy hair easily entered her.
However, Li Wei was not in a hurry to watch the excitement. She first took a look at the woman who opened the door and was stunned to see that it was Ji Xiaoqian's sister, Ji Xiaoqing.
However, judging from her waitress uniform, she should still be at work. Li Wei had a gut feeling that the mistress from Luo Sanjiu's family was probably not her.
Ji Xiaoqing also recognized Li Wei, paused for a moment, smiled awkwardly, and said nothing.
Li Wei nodded slightly as a greeting, and after walking a few steps past a small entryway, she could see the entire room clearly.
This is a luxurious suite. Upon entering, there is a living room where several men and women are playing mahjong around a table.
Before Li Wei could even see what was happening, her third aunt had already rushed to one side of the mahjong table. She grabbed a woman by the hair and pulled her away. Everyone jumped up to break up the fight.
Judging from her aunt's imposing manner, Li Wei figured she wouldn't suffer any losses. She then took a closer look at the men and women playing mahjong.
There were four men and four women in total. The other three looked somewhat familiar; they seemed to be friends of my third uncle's. As for the women with them, they were mostly young and beautiful. Whether they were mistresses or wives was hard to say.
What really caught Li Wei's attention was Luo Sanjiu. He was wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt. He was fair-skinned and slightly overweight, which only made him look more mature. He was also wealthy, so naturally he had an allure that attracted certain girls.
However, the woman whose hair was being pulled and slapped by her third aunt seemed to have a good figure. Her hair was disheveled and her nose was bleeding, making her features somewhat unclear. She cursed, "You shameless slut! I'll beat you to death, you vixen..."
Several men, especially Uncle Luo, naturally tried to pull Aunt Luo away. But she was, after all, a woman. With everyone pulling and tugging, they managed to separate the two women.
The woman who had been beaten was sobbing quietly to one side. Auntie Luo, though restrained by several people, continued to hurl insults, while Uncle Luo's face was ashen. He sat smoking, lost in thought.
Ji Xiaoqing appeared beside the woman who had been beaten, seemingly out of nowhere. She was fixing her hair while whispering words of comfort. They appeared to have a good relationship.
Li Wei sneered inwardly. She figured Ji Xiaoqian must have known about Luo Sanjiu's affair through Ji Xiaoqing. Given the relationship between Luo Sanjiu and her third senior brother, she would probably only fawn over Luo Sanjiu and wouldn't care about her third aunt.
Now they're actually blatantly siding with that mistress.
Seeing that she had scolded him enough and there was no hope of hitting him anymore, Auntie Luo burst into tears, pointing at Uncle Luo: "You heartless bastard! I followed you when you were penniless and I was just a teenager. Now that you're rich, you know how to find women. Put your hand on your heart, don't you feel ashamed?! Ah—"
Suddenly, the whole house was filled with wolf howls and ghostly wails. The wolf howls were from the third aunt, and the ghostly wails were from the young mistress. It was incredibly lively.
Others tried to persuade him, but it was all to no avail.
Finally, Uncle Luo roared, "Alright, stop crying, all of you shut up!"
For a moment, both women were silent, but less than three seconds later, the third aunt started wailing again, and even louder.
Everyone's voices were drawn to Third Aunt, and no one noticed that the little girl who had stopped crying wiped her face, pushed aside a woman in front of Third Aunt, and headbutted Third Aunt's plump chest as if she were fighting desperately.
Everyone gasped in surprise, but it was too late to pull her away. The third aunt lost her balance and sat down on the carpeted floor. As she waved her arms to maintain her balance, she grabbed the woman's hair again and held on tightly. The two of them immediately rolled around together, fighting and cursing.
Then everyone started to frantically try to break up the fight.
Li Wei was also somewhat dumbfounded, but she dared not be careless and kept a close eye on the movements of the others. Her third aunt's personal fighting ability was beyond doubt, and she was on guard against others taking sides and causing trouble.
Others were still mindful of boundaries; some pulled the third aunt while others pulled the woman, and it was clear that they were trying to keep the two apart and were not going easy on each other.
But what made Li Wei's eyes twitch was Ji Xiaoqing, who also joined in trying to pull her third aunt in. She was clearly on good terms with that mistress, and her actions in trying to break up the fight spoke volumes.
Before Li Wei could come up with a solution, her third uncle roared again, "Stop making a scene! You can all make a scene until you're done, then I'm leaving." With that, he pushed through the crowd and walked out.
Li Wei quickly slipped into the bathroom behind her, and seeing her third uncle pass by, she hurried out to find her third aunt.
The two women were still fighting, looking disheveled, but they had been helped up by the crowd. The fighting was only sporadic. Two men went after Uncle Luo, while the rest of the men and women continued to try to break up the fight.
With so many people, they should have been able to hold back the two women, but the mistress was clearly very tenacious. Although she wasn't as tall as the aunt, she was fearless and dared to attack. The aunt already had several red scratches on her arm.
The problem arose because of Ji Xiaoqing, who was vigorously grabbing her third aunt's arm, preventing her from fighting back. Li Wei panicked when she saw this. It was one thing for her third aunt to be unable to fight back, but it was unacceptable for her to be tricked. Without saying a word, Li Wei rushed forward and shoved the unsuspecting Ji Xiaoqing aside.
Ji Xiaoqing stumbled. She stopped, glared back, and saw Li Wei's cold face: "What are you looking at? Don't think I didn't see what you were doing. Whose side are you on? Still wearing the hotel uniform, you don't want to work here anymore, do you!"
Ji Xiaoqing was no pushover either: "Who do you think you are? Whether I do it or not is none of your business." After saying that, she reached out to push Li Wei.
Li Wei was trained, after all; she might have weak legs at the sight of a real villain. But dealing with one or two women was no problem. She dodged in a flash, then shoved Ji Xiaoqing, who ended up sprawled on the carpet.
From this point on, Ji Xiaoqing's fiery nature fully erupted. She got up and reached out to scratch Li Wei, but Li Wei turned her head away. Then, she tripped over her own leg and fell down again.
After falling three times in a row, Ji Xiaoqing was going crazy. She screamed and threatened to fight Li Wei, but Li Wei didn't want to have anything to do with this crazy woman. She quickly dodged around the mahjong table, but Ji Xiaoqing wasn't about to give up. Shouting, "You little brat, I'll fight you to the death—" she chased after her again.
The two chased each other, making even more noise than Auntie and Xiao San. The few people trying to break them up were at a loss for words. They all knew Ji Xiaoqing, but who was this little girl? They had never heard of Luo Gang having a daughter.
Taking advantage of her familiarity with everyone, Ji Xiaoqing chased after Li Wei while directing the others: "Help me intercept her, quick!"
A woman actually came up and tried to stop Li Wei.
Li Wei realized that this was another case of favoritism; she seemed to have helped her third aunt just now. Without further ado, she stepped forward, gently extending one leg, and the woman tripped and fell.
Clearly, birds of a feather flock together. That woman wasn't one to be trifled with either; she jumped up and tried to tear Li Wei apart, instantly turning the situation into a two-on-one chase.
The room was only so big, and after a few moments of being surrounded and blocked by the two men, Li Wei saw that she had nowhere to go, so she simply stopped running. When the two men came in front of her, she crouched down and swept her leg, knocking both of them down in one go.
Although the floor was carpeted, it was hard to tell if it was real or not. Anyway, after the two of them sat on the floor, they both started groaning and crying out.
The man who had been chasing after Li Wei couldn't stand it anymore. This kid was too arrogant. He went over to stop Li Wei and say a few words.
When Li Wei saw that a man had come up to get involved, she got angry. "What are you doing getting involved, you grown man?" she thought. She kicked the mahjong table away, scaring the man away. He didn't dare to come forward.
Another man was displeased. This was an adult matter, why was she, a child, making a fuss? He scolded Li Wei, "Whose child are you? Where are your parents? What are you doing causing trouble?"
Li Wei also got angry: "You bunch of scoundrels, who cares who I am? You broke up a couple, you'll be going to hell in the future. And now you're bullying someone's wife. You shameless bastards, ptooey!"
She immediately scolded everyone in the room, except for the third aunt. Several men and women were itching to grab Li Wei and give her a piece of their minds, saying that this child needed a good talking to.
Seeing that things were going badly, Li Wei started running around the sofa again. However, she also grabbed the ashtray on the coffee table and threw it at the window. Unfortunately, the window wasn't that sturdy, and it didn't break. Instead, it cracked a few times when it hit the ground.
Seeing this, the third aunt was afraid that Li Wei would be taken advantage of, since she had brought the child with her. She rushed over to stop everyone: "What are you doing? Are you friends or enemies with that deadbeat Luo Gang? You don't want to see each other again, do you? If you want to touch the child, you'll have to step over me!"
Li Wei suddenly noticed her third aunt's plump back view, and thought, "Wow, so imposing!"
Seeing two empty beer bottles on the dressing table, I grabbed them, knocked the bottoms off against the wall, and held one in each hand as weapons. I'd seen this kind of thing done in gangster movies, and now I was doing it myself—it felt so good!
Li Wei didn't believe these people would really do anything; they were just angry with her for a moment. So she patted her third aunt's shoulder and said, "Third aunt, let's leave. Have you had enough? If not, let's leave. This is a dangerous place, we can't stay here for long."
Third Aunt was also a bit dumbfounded. This... wasn't she supposed to be chasing after the mistress? How did it turn into them being chased?
