217 borrowing clothes
Li Wei and her third aunt went downstairs to the car. Less than ten minutes later, Luo Da also came down.
Auntie was in a bad mood and didn't pay much attention to her son's words and actions. Li Wei, however, was a little worried. Would Luo Da do something out of line?
So when Li Wei saw Luo Da get into the car with a not-so-good expression, she wanted to ask him something, but then she remembered that her third aunt was also there, so she opened her mouth but didn't say anything.
The three of them went home in silence. Li Wei got out of the car at the intersection of the community road. Her house was about 100 meters ahead. Luo Da watched Li Wei get out of the car and said, "I'll come to your house to find you later."
Li Wei looked at the sky, which had become completely dark: "Let's talk about it tomorrow, it's so late."
Luo smiled but didn't say anything. He wasn't in a good mood either, but going to Li Wei's place offered him some comfort, making him realize that life was still pretty good.
However, if his dad comes home, Luo Da probably won't have a moment of peace. His parents will make a scene, which is a headache to think about. It's been going on for years.
The only time they had peace and quiet was during the years when they went out to work and didn't come home much. Even then, his mother would cry to his grandmother every time she came back. And every time they came home for holidays, they would end up arguing.
In the end, there wasn't a single time when I could live a peaceful and stable life.
Luo Da felt exhausted just thinking about them. They had been doing the same thing for so many years. It was really exhausting. He mustn't let it be like this. He wouldn't look for other women, and Xiao Ming would go to work steadily. The two of them lived a peaceful and stable life, which was good.
Luo Da returned home. Sure enough, his father was sitting alone on the sofa smoking. Seeing his wife and son return, he stubbed out his cigarette, glanced at them, said nothing, and turned to go upstairs.
When Aunt Luo saw this, she plopped down on the sofa and began to wail and sob.
Luo Da put the car keys in the locker. He stood in front of his mother. Seeing that she was really upset about crying, he said, "It's been like this for years. What's there to cry about? You two aren't getting a divorce. We'll take care of you when you're old. Go out and relax sometimes. Find some fun for yourself. What's the point of all this commotion?"
Upon hearing this, Auntie cried even louder. Luo Da was at a loss; he didn't know how to comfort people. He could only place a box of tissues in front of his mother and sit beside her, feeling incredibly awkward.
Although I despise my father's behavior, from a man's perspective, my mother is indeed not very helpful. All she does is play mahjong all day, buy clothes and jewelry, and doesn't do anything else worthwhile. She doesn't even care much about their studies. She's not as good to her three brothers as Xiaoming is. I don't know if other parents are like this, but at least Xiaoming's parents aren't.
Luo Da sat there with his mother. Everyone else was resting upstairs.
Li Wei was asleep. Luo Da still came in the middle of the night. Because of the heat, Li Wei hadn't closed the window, so Luo Da easily got in.
However, he was in a bad mood today and didn't disturb Li Wei. He looked around and saw that Li Wei was wearing pajamas and a towel blanket, with her hands folded up and placed on her cheeks, sleeping soundly like a child. Luo Da didn't disturb her either, and gently lay down next to Li Wei.
The bed is a bit soft but not too soft, the pillows are very comfortable, and there's a subtle fragrance that makes you feel calm and peaceful, very comfortable.
Luo Da had always thought Li Wei's bed was more comfortable than his own, and today that feeling was especially strong. Lying like this, even without doing anything, would be very satisfying.
However, people are clearly never satisfied. Luo Da gently reached out and hugged Li Wei. Li Wei stirred slightly, then fell silent and continued sleeping. But she seemed to find Luo Da more reliable, so she leaned closer to him, nestled in his arms, and continued sleeping.
Although Li Wei is sleeping soundly now, she took a shower when she got home and lay in bed for a while, feeling uneasy. She kept thinking about the wine bottle and the bloodstains. Although the hole wasn't deep, she still put a lot of force into it, and the blood that flowed was human blood, not chicken blood.
Unable to sleep, she secretly went to Li Lianhui's room. Li Lianhui was engrossed in reading a martial arts novel, leaning against the headboard, and completely ignored her sister's arrival.
Li Wei quickly climbed to her younger brother's side and nudged Li Lianhui, "Hey, Lianhui, I can't sleep?"
"Yeah, I'll feel better after lying down for a while." Li Lianhui didn't even lift his eyelids.
"I stabbed someone with a bottle today and it drew blood. I'm a little scared."
"It's okay, just think of it as a bit of a bloodbath. You might accidentally fall and bleed a little, but it's nothing, as long as you're not bleeding yourself." Finally, Li Lianhui glanced at his sister, saw that she was alright and was jumping around, and continued reading her book.
"But that wasn't a chicken or a dog, it was a person, and he was crying out in pain."
Li Lianhui finally put down his book, his expression serious: "Who did you go out with?"
"Third Aunt and your Brother Hua."
Li Lianhui picked up his book again and continued reading: "Then it's alright. Other people's blood is blood, it's blood that's been shed. As long as it's not your own, it's fine. Stay away from dangerous places in the future. If you can't avoid them, don't worry about it. Killing one is one less, and it will lighten the burden on the earth."
Li Wei stared in disbelief. When did her little brother become so fierce? Anyone who didn't know better would think he'd killed a few people, but it wasn't chickens, ducks, geese, or dogs. He made it sound so easy.
However, it did have some effect. At least Li Wei felt much more relaxed. It turned out that her little troubles were nothing in Li Lianhui's eyes, making her seem a bit cowardly.
However, Li Wei still felt a little unwell; it wasn't like she was completely fine.
At her insistence, Li Lianhui was forced to move to her sister's bedroom, where he sat and read a book, while Li Wei brazenly lay on the bed and slept soundly.
After she fell asleep, Li Lianhui left.
Luo Da fell asleep easily because he was lying comfortably and holding his beloved, and didn't wake up until dawn the next day. He was awakened by a ray of bright morning light shining into his eyes.
She raised her arm to shield her eyes from the sun. But a tingling, numb sensation came from her other arm, which was pressing against her neck.
Luo Da didn't move. He could faintly hear the sound of the Li family opening their door. Old Master Cheng and his wife were talking in the small garden, seemingly in good spirits, chatting and laughing. Birds were chirping, and a gentle breeze blowing in from the window made the milky-white embroidered gauze curtains flutter. The air was also very fresh.
Everything felt so wonderful as he held the soft, fragrant woman beside him. Luo Da suddenly realized that this was the life people should live and yearn for.
It's peaceful, tranquil, and ordinary. There are elderly people and children. Adults laugh and chat normally, instead of their conversations breaking down after just a few words.
These are the days that make for happy days.
His family, without his grandmother, would be no different from a powder keg.
Daydreaming is easy. Luo Da dreamt for a while and then fell asleep again. Perhaps he had gotten used to breaking into the house at midnight these past few days, and started treating the Li family's house as if it were his own. He didn't even think about how to get out.
So when Li Lin came to ask her sister for something, she found the door locked from the inside. She started banging on the door loudly, which woke up Li Wei and Luo Da.
Especially Li Wei. She opened her eyes and was startled to see Luo Da beside her. Then she looked at the door where people were knocking and calling for help. What was she going to do?
In a moment of quick thinking, she realized that the only place in her room that could fit Luo Da was her four-door wardrobe. She quickly pulled the unhurried Luo Da up and whispered, "Hurry up, hide in the wardrobe first, and I'll let you out after I get rid of Xiao Lin."
Luo Da wasn't worried about Li Lin, but seeing how nervous Li Wei was, he had no choice but to comply and slip into the door Li Wei had opened, joining the T-shirts and dresses.
After confirming that everything was alright, Li Wei opened the door for Li Lin, but didn't let her in: "What do you want? It's so early in the morning, hurry up and tell me, I still want to sleep."
Li Lin peeked furtively into the room but didn't find anything suspicious. The only suspicious thing was her sister. She couldn't explain why, but Li Lin just felt that something was off about her sister.
Li Lin didn't seem to care and didn't press the matter further, giggling as she said, "Sis, can I borrow your pink t-shirt with the koala on it? Hehe..."
Li Wei said irritably, "You borrow rice today and salt tomorrow, how do you live? You have just as many clothes as I do, don't you? Besides, all my clothes are too big for you. Don't you know your own size and height? Can't you buy what you like yourself?"
The important thing is, if this brat goes through her wardrobe, then her lover Luo Da will be exposed.
Li Lin started to whine, grabbing Li Wei's arm: "Oh, sis—this is the last time, the very last time, I promise, sis, you're a good person, I love you the most in our family..."
Li Wei hurriedly rubbed her arms: "Stop, stop, don't try to force me to drink rice water. You always say that, and you always forget what you said last time. This time, absolutely not. Go do what you're supposed to do, I want to sleep."
Li Lin wasn't about to give up, clinging to Li Wei like glue: "Sis—hmph...this is really the last time. If you don't lend it to me, I'll tell Mom. Anyway, Mom will make you give it to me."
Li Wei shook off Li Lin's hand: "Then go call Mom first." This brat will stop at nothing to wear a pretty dress.
While Li Lin was going to her mother for advice, she had a chance to get the little T-shirt out for her and quickly send her away.
Who knew that Li Lin would be so unusually clingy today: "Sister, dear sister... please lend me the money, otherwise I won't leave and won't let you sleep, sister—"
Li Wei was so annoyed by her calling her "sister" all the time that she finally gave in and said, "You wait outside and I'll get it for you. That way you won't ask for whatever you see. Do you hear me? Otherwise, you can go tell Mom."
Li Lin nodded hurriedly, "Okay, okay, I'll wait outside. Hurry up, I'm going out right away."
Li Wei —
The relationship is just waiting for her to cook rice.
