229 Holiday
The next two days were uneventful, except for the exams.
Li Wei returned home after finishing her exam that day. Her maternal grandmother went to talk to Luo's grandmother at the Luo family's house, and her maternal grandfather went out to play chess with some elderly people in the neighborhood. Her parents were not there, but Aunt Gao and another cleaning lady were there.
Li Wei greeted them and went upstairs to her room.
After taking a shower and changing my clothes, I could finally lie down on my own bed and get some rest. I was in a drowsy, half-awake state when the phone rang. I reached out and fumbled for it to answer. It was Luo Da calling.
This guy, now riding high on his success, was eager to tell Li Wei about the school's arrangements, including when the exams would be and when the holidays would be. Only at the end did he ask Li Wei how she was feeling and if she was feeling unwell.
Li Wei was too tired. She groaned for a long time and hung up after saying only a few words. However, she felt much better. She was quite angry after seeing how happy he was. He hadn't called twice since he went to school. It was as if he had disappeared.
The commotion of the past two days almost made her forget about this matter, but Luo Da's phone call just now relieved a lot of Li Wei's resentment. Before falling asleep, she vaguely felt that there was something important she had forgotten, but she couldn't quite grasp it before falling asleep.
Because it's the senior year of high school, there's no normal holiday after the final exams. The school still has to conduct regular make-up classes and review sessions. And those final exams are just like regular quizzes, not reflecting the importance of the regular final exams at all.
Luo Da will be on holiday in two weeks, but Li Wei will still be in school.
That morning, Luo rushed back to school, just in time for his first professional class, which was taught by his senior's friend.
Luo Da focused his mind and attended class seriously. This could be his life's work, so he not only had to listen carefully and learn well, but also understand it thoroughly, and he couldn't let his senior brother down.
During break between classes, all four of Zou Yulong's roommates gathered around. Zou Yulong grinned, "Hey, fourth brother. Two days apart. You've been badly injured. Look at your face, your chin, your neck. Tsk tsk."
The second brother, Bi Yongsheng, laughed, "What kind of bad guys did you run into? The battle was fierce, and you're covered in wounds. When are you going to let us meet them? I heard from the third brother that she's a beauty. How about we come visit you during winter break and see your wife while we're at it?"
The eldest brother, Chen Weiqiang, was more mature due to his age: "Alright, alright. You guys calm down. Can't you see that the fourth brother has dark circles under his eyes? Let him sleep for a while."
The others couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Luo Da looked up at the sky: "You're just envious, you're jealous, that's petty thinking. I won't argue with you. Let me rest quietly for a while." He then lay down on his desk, pretending to doze off. He had indeed been sleep-deprived these past few days. Although he often dreamt of the past, of those warm, smiling faces, he had never longed for the holidays to begin so intensely as he did now.
Finally, the holiday was over, and I could go home. I picked up my little Beetle from the school garage and sped home. But then I suddenly realized that the person I most wanted to see was still at school, not on holiday yet. I was incredibly annoyed.
Luo parked the car at the school gate, lay down inside, and lowered the cushions to pretend to sleep.
Counting the time, it was almost time for the last afternoon self-study session to end. But Luo Da waited and waited and waited and no one came. Getting anxious, he grabbed a girl who came out to buy something at the convenience store and asked her what was going on. It turned out that she had to go to evening self-study after dinner.
Luo Da choked. Didn't Li Wei always teach at home before? Why has she changed her mind again?
Think about it, don't wait any longer, lock the car and go look for it.
As a result, they caught Li Wei eating with her classmates in the cafeteria. She was eating and talking to her classmates, and seemed quite happy. It was impossible to tell that she missed him at all.
Luo Da was a little depressed. He sat down in an empty seat at their table. Soon, Li Wei and the others noticed him. Cai Lianhua and the others recognized Luo Da and greeted him.
Li Wei was even more surprised: "Huh? You're on vacation? When are you coming back?"
Luo Da said sullenly, "Yeah, just now."
Li Wei looked at him and asked, "Have you eaten yet?"
Luo Da: "No."
So, half a year after leaving the high school, Luo Da once again ate a meal of pig feed in the cafeteria.
Li Wei skipped evening self-study, and couldn't attend anyway. Luo Da followed her everywhere, even while she washed her lunchbox. Some classmates were already secretly watching her. Helpless, Li Wei pleaded with Luo Da to wait for her at the school gate, saying she would go back to pack her bag and then go find him.
Li Wei packed her things, asked Cai Lianhua to tell the teacher for her, and then came out.
Luo Da didn't get into the car either. Zheng Xie was waiting for her by a pile of tall gates. He was bald, not wearing a coat, just a thick sweater. The wind was biting, and it was hard to tell if he was cold.
Li Wei rushed over and asked, "Aren't you cold? Get in the car quickly."
Luo Da rubbed his hands together, took Li Wei's large backpack, and grinned, "It's not cold, let's go home."
The two returned to their three-person home. Li Wei had been staying there recently, but since she no longer had a car, she simply stopped going back. Li Lianhui would occasionally come over to stay as well, and the home was fully equipped with all the necessary daily necessities.
As soon as Li Wei entered the house, she was kissed. Just when she thought they were going to kiss forever, Luo Da hugged her and asked in a hoarse voice, somewhat uncertainly, "Will you get pregnant?"
Li Wei shook her head to clear her mind, then lay down on the sofa, feeling much more comfortable. The day's intense studying had been quite tiring.
She found a comfortable spot in Luo Da's arms and leaned back before saying, "It shouldn't be. My periods are usually irregular; sometimes it's normal for me to go months without a period. But let's not do it now; it would be troublesome if I got pregnant."
Li Wei finally remembered what the important thing had suddenly flashed through her mind that night was.
Luo Da was silent for a while: "I'll go buy condoms."
Li Wei: "Huh?" Damn, she was confused. And that little thing seemed to work. Regardless of what happened last time, it seemed like there wouldn't be any major problems now that they were prepared.
Li Wei was naturally too ashamed to accept this situation, so Luo Da quickly got her a cushion to make her more comfortable, while he himself put on his coat and went out to run errands for his own benefit.
When Luo Da pulled out the third condom that night, Li Wei protested: "No, we need to be more restrained. If we continue like this, will I still be able to go to school tomorrow? This is the end of today!"
Seeing that Li Wei was indeed determined, Luo Da had no choice but to hold her and sleep.
Actually, there's another reason Li Wei didn't mention. It's this damn condom. It's so damn uncomfortable, it's better not to wear anything at all.
Li Wei's vacation started a week later, but she didn't let Luo Da come over for the first few days, otherwise it would be too unpleasant for her to be alert the next day. Luckily, a couple of days later, some of Luo Da's classmates, all boys, came over. Luo Da spent a few days with them at a nearby ski resort, having a blast until Li Wei officially started her vacation and they didn't return.
Besides the three boys from Luo Da's dorm, there were four or five other classmates who were close friends. That evening, the third senior brother treated them to dinner. Ji Xiaoqian and Xiao Mei accompanied them, along with the restless Li Lin and Luo Er. They ate at Shouchun Restaurant.
These guys, who'd been living in a monastery-like environment at the police academy for ages, were itching to see Luo Jianhua's rumored girlfriend. Zou Yulong was really bragging about her; supposedly, she was very beautiful.
The group of boys all thought the same thing. Who knows what kind of stunningly beautiful girl she is? Most girls wouldn't even give Luo Jianhua a second glance. The two class beauties they considered quite attractive were only given a cursory glance by him, and his conclusion was: Hmm!
That's all I'm saying. I have no further comment.
So everyone sat around the table in a large private room, drinking tea and beverages while waiting for the food to be served, all the while eagerly anticipating the grand entrance of the male and female leads.
The third senior brother and his wife, along with Xiao Mei, naturally understood what these young people were thinking. They chuckled to themselves but didn't point it out.
As for Li Lin, she was just out having fun, and she was quite amused by the two talkative boys, laughing heartily without a care in the world.
Luo Da waited until Li Wei finished her evening self-study session before picking her up. Li Wei was quite happy to see Luo Da return. With another month of vacation ahead, she finally felt less exhausted. Day after day, facing endless mountains of questions and tests, sometimes it really made her feel tired from the inside out, as if there was no end in sight.
Li Wei followed Luo Da into the private room, and the room immediately fell silent.
She felt a series of unfamiliar eyes sweeping over her, sending chills down her spine. It was so eerie. They introduced themselves to each other.
Li Wei was still wearing jeans today, but because she was afraid of the cold, she wore long, off-white calfskin cotton boots. She wore a camel-colored cashmere jacket with a turned-down round collar, over which was an apple-green turtleneck sweater. This made her unmade-up face look even whiter, as if it had a milky sheen. Her dark eyes looked around, occasionally blinking as if they were twinkling with starlight.
Her glossy black ponytail swayed gently with her head, making her look like an innocent student, completely unrelated to the glamorous and alluring. With such a well-behaved appearance, how could she possibly drive so far to meet her lover?
This is a question that arose in everyone's mind at the same time.
However, it must be admitted that she is actually a very beautiful and pleasant-looking girl. She has no arrogant airs at all, and her smile is like a gentle breeze, making people feel intoxicated.
Especially her figure; several lecherous men secretly swallowed.
The meal lasted for more than two hours, with everyone chatting about all sorts of things. In particular, a few people from the south had never seen such heavy snow in the north, and they humorously joked about themselves and shared their feelings, which made everyone burst into laughter.
Infected by everyone's enthusiasm, Li Wei reconciled with Luo Da, and the depression she had felt over the past six months vanished. Thinking about the wonderful holiday, she suddenly felt energetic again.
