249 The Early Birds Sweep Snow
While others might be able to go out and have fun during the rare two-day holiday of the New Year, Li Wei wasn't so lucky.
Not only do I have to stay home with kids, but I also have to study during the day to prepare for final exams, and then someone else has to exercise at night.
Knowing that Li Wei didn't have to get up early for class the next morning, and that neither of them needed to get up early, the man was in high spirits and displayed his prowess. After two consecutive nights of fighting, Li Wei couldn't take it anymore.
Even on holidays, this kind of debauchery and nightly revelry is unacceptable. The two nannies were looking at her with ambiguous eyes. Aunt Gao seemed calm but was actually more suspicious. She lived her life like a pig, doing nothing but sleeping and eating. She spent less time reading than usual, not to mention taking care of the child.
Basically, this person tirelessly exercises until the early hours of the morning. She'll fall asleep in between, but when she's awake, she's invariably woken up by the disturbance. By the time she's awake again after a short nap in the morning and tries to get up, this person always manages to notice first, then takes advantage of her dazed state to continue exercising. She usually gets up around lunchtime, then dozes off while looking after the kids in the afternoon, takes a short nap, then forces herself to read for a while, and before she knows it, it's evening again—
Fortunately, Li Lianhui had been going out early and returning late these past two days, having a lot of fun with a group of classmates; otherwise, Li Wei felt she would have felt even more ashamed.
On the third night, after Li Wei and her husband had finished putting the child to bed, she washed up and got into bed when she saw him again, his eyes gleaming with a thieving light as he kept glancing at her. She stopped trying to get under the covers and straightened up, saying, "We agreed that school starts tomorrow, and the final exams are in a month. Don't make me fail. Tonight, I'm going to rest, get a complete rest!"
A certain nature wouldn't give up easily. Swallowing hard, he thought, "I was planning to have another night of hot pot with mutton, all white and tender." *Sigh*
Thinking that the lamb wouldn't let her eat, she immediately protested: "How about... eat less... oh no, I mean, cook less?" She was used to late-night snacks, and suddenly not being allowed to eat them was going to be hard on her stomach.
Li Wei suddenly sat down outside the covers, pinning down the restless body inside: "No way, I have my first class tomorrow morning, I don't want to be late!" Damn it, he's been living a life of debauchery these past two days. Is this how a normal person lives?
The person still managed to pull one arm out of the blanket, hesitated, and held up three fingers: "How about... only three times?"
Li Wei shook her head firmly. This guy never kept his word in bed. He took pleasure in seducing naive women. He had no credibility whatsoever.
Someone curled up one finger. Seeing Li Wei raise her hand to hit him, he quickly curled up another. With a mournful face, he said, "Fine, fine. It's better than nothing. Just this once... Sigh. Why am I living so frugally..."
Li Wei slapped him: "What are you muttering about? Not even once. If I say no, then no. Go to sleep!"
The face of the person on the other side was practically scrunched up like a bun. All traces of their usual stern expression were gone. They were cowering around looking utterly pitiful—
Li Wei thought this guy had really given up. She was quite happy, seeing his aggrieved look and even a little guilty. But she didn't dare show it. This guy was incredibly cunning; she could easily fall into his trap.
Li Wei turned off the light. She scrambled into bed, finding a comfortable, warm spot. She sighed contentedly and yawned, "...Mmm...so comfortable. So sleepy..."
In a hazy state, Li Wei felt a weight on her waist. Then, against her chest, she mumbled sleepily, "...Let's sleep...uh...mmm...you..."
Li Wei's last thought before falling asleep was: "I'm going to scratch him to death tomorrow morning, that shameless bastard!"
At least Luo didn't treat Monday like the weekend. Although Li Wei didn't get enough sleep, she still got up on time. Forget about exercising or reading; she slept through the night.
Da Luo didn't miss his workout. He cleared all the snow from the yard in the morning. Yesterday afternoon, the weather finally cleared up and the sparse snow stopped falling.
After clearing away the thick snow in front of his house, Da Luo felt that the amount of exercise wasn't enough to express his excitement, so he cleared a long stretch of the road in front of his house, prompting some elderly neighbors who were out for their morning exercise to praise him: "Hmm, not bad, there aren't many young people like this these days. Young man, you just moved here, right? I always see you out here quickly, haha..."
Da Luo, breathing out hot air, unzipped his sports jacket and said politely, "Yes, sir, I often see you guys exercising in the morning. I'm just killing time, so I thought I'd stretch my legs a bit, haha..." Actually, he would prefer to exercise at night, but someone wouldn't allow it, so he had no choice but to come out in the morning to be more diligent.
Although someone felt unsatisfied, Li Wei still kicked him twice under the breakfast table. She felt a bit of back pain, probably because she had been tired these past two days. While eating breakfast, she kicked his calf with her toes, which was like tickling him. Da Luo didn't even flinch, which annoyed Li Wei.
Unable to vent her anger, after getting on the bus with her schoolbag, she found the sight of someone's energetic appearance even more irritating. She pinched his thigh, and Da Luo felt it this time, howling in pain. Li Wei finally vented her anger: "You little brat, aren't you thick-skinned? Aren't you afraid of pain? What are you yelling about! If you're so capable, then keep being sunny and cheerful!"
With a bitter face, Da Luo drove the car, which had already been warmed up, out the door: "I was wrong, I won't yell anymore, okay? Please pinch me as much as you want, but... after you're done pinching, don't forget to rub it too. Pinch towards the groin area, the flesh there is softer, it feels better to pinch there. When you rub, try to take care of the central control muscles..."
Li Wei —
The first two periods in the morning were intensive reading classes. As soon as Li Wei appeared in the classroom, she was immediately called over by Xu Ting and Ma Liya, who had arrived earlier. The four seats in the front row, the second and third rows in the middle, were the best seats. They were not too close to the teacher and would not be bathed in spittle and chalk dust. They were also the best seats to listen to the lecture. They were the famous golden study seats. If you wanted to be lazy, you could sit in the back two corner seats.
Tang Ying was already seated. But it was clear that the seats were all given up by Xu Ting and Ma Liya; Li Wei and Tang Ying hadn't managed to snag one of those prime seats in all this time.
Before Li Wei could even sit down, Xu Ting couldn't wait any longer: "Hey, Li Wei, tell us about your boyfriend and your brother! We all want to know, hurry up, that's so kind of you."
The other two also pricked up their ears and nodded at Li Wei, their eyes full of anticipation.
As Li Wei took books out of her bag, she glanced at the group and said, "You've all seen it, so what's there to say? By the way, did anyone bring a dictionary? I think I still have one page left to preview in today's new lesson. I don't know if the teacher will cover everything today. I'll check the dictionary first."
It was all Da Luo's fault. She was almost finished with her review. Then this shameless guy insisted on telling her in the bedroom that he had a huge lump and was going to die—
When she went inside, she found a huge, ridiculous bag, and indeed, her pajama bottoms were sticking out of shape. Once inside, she didn't come out and completely forgot about reading until this morning.
Xu Ting and Tang Ying said in unison, "No way, you don't need to study so hard for so many things. The teacher said in the last class that they weren't important and that we only needed to take a quick look."
Li Wei was speechless. It seemed there was a difference in their understanding. In her mind, English was English; anything within its scope had to be learned thoroughly, without any distinction between important and unimportant parts. After all, if she were to become a teacher after graduation, she would be instructing students. How could she teach others if she didn't have a good grasp of the knowledge herself?
Therefore, Li Wei never avoided studying the less important topics just to prepare for final exams or because she heard the teacher mention so-called key points. Although it was more tiring and required more time and effort, the results were naturally incomparable.
Li Wei naturally wouldn't discuss these things with the three of them during self-study class. However, Xiao Ning, the class's Youth League Secretary who was sitting across from them, handed over a small Longman dictionary: "Use mine. I usually carry this with me. It's convenient and not too heavy."
Li Wei took it and smiled, "Thank you, I'll return it to you before class."
Xiao Ning smiled and said, "No rush, you can use it slowly. I don't need it for now."
Li Wei smiled and nodded at him, then turned to the three people beside her who seemed serious and said, "We can talk after class. Don't disturb my studies. Disturbing my studies is a sinner who wastes my time. Remember that."
Although the three of them were fairly familiar with Li Wei, they didn't really understand her. They only interacted during class. However, even after spending some time with her, they still couldn't figure out her personality.
However, one thing is certain: Li Wei listens very attentively in class and never chats with them secretly, no matter what class it is.
Therefore, we also learned about Li Wei's habit of not intruding on her class time, which means that when she is studying seriously, we should try not to disturb her.
Now Li Wei opened the book, picked up a pen, and started flipping through the dictionary while reading. She seemed very serious. Although they were unwilling, the three of them did not want to make a fool of themselves by continuing to nag her.
Xiao Ning, who borrowed Li Wei's dictionary, was not so lucky. Because she was pretty and refined, she seemed to have a good temper. As a class leader, she often organized activities and had a lot of contact with her classmates, so everyone knew her personality and found her easy to talk to.
Xu Ting teased him first: "Hey, Xiao Ning, you've been sitting behind us a lot lately, do you have something on your mind about any of us, haha..."
Xiao Ning's expression was somewhat unnatural. He quickly glanced at Li Wei, but still politely said, "What nonsense are you talking about? It's almost finals, and I need to work harder too."
Maria chimed in, "Really? You don't need to work so hard. With your dad around, you'll have plenty of good jobs to choose from in the future. Why work so hard? I've noticed you've been acting strangely lately."
Both Maria and Xiao Ning are students in the city, and they were familiar with each other's family situations, so they made some teasing remarks.
This time, Xiao Ning wisely didn't respond. Instead, she opened her book and started reading. Having a good temper doesn't mean she has no temper or can't recognize the situation. In this situation, nothing she says will be right.
Li Wei naturally paid no attention to the joking and cursing of the group of young people. She was busy with family and studies, and didn't have time for anything else.
