Eighty-nine handsome men talent scouts
Just as Li Wei had sensed something was amiss, Ding Anni's arrival meant having a constant shadow. She followed Li Wei everywhere, knowing Ding Anni was unfamiliar with the area and the school's customs. Li Wei felt much lighter after overhearing Ding Anni mutter that she'd only be there for two weeks at most.
Two weeks shouldn't be too hard to get through, right?
After school that evening, Li Wei asked Wu Feng to give Ding Anni a ride to her maternal grandmother's house. Since she had Luo Dajia's study session today, Li Wei decided not to go home and went with her instead.
When they arrived at Grandma's house, Ding Anni's suitcase had already been placed in the room where Li Wei and her aunt used to live. This west room wasn't very nice when Li Wei's family lived there; it was used to store miscellaneous items, so it wasn't very aesthetically pleasing.
However, since Grandpa's family came, Li Zhaoxing had someone tidy it up properly. It was spotless, with pink tiles on the floor, a large wooden bed, an old-fashioned wardrobe, an eight-immortal table, several potted plants on the windowsill, and snow-white walls.
Although it can't compare to Li Wei's boudoir, it's still pretty good. After all, Li Wei sometimes stays there when she's too lazy to go home, and her aunt also uses it occasionally when she comes back. These two are truly the daughters of the family, and if one isn't satisfied, the other has to pay out of their own pocket to fix it up.
Ding Anni had come in the morning. Although she wasn't very satisfied with the environment, she didn't dare say anything since she had suggested coming to the countryside to experience rural life. She decided to just make do with the place.
Grandma Cheng has now become a true stay-at-home grandma. After a lifetime of busy work, she has finally found some peace and quiet with her eldest daughter. From initially feeling uncomfortable, she now enjoys gardening, growing vegetables, feeding chickens and ducks, and playing with geese and dogs. Gradually, she has been able to enrich her later years, especially since her neighbors are all nice.
This morning, when her daughter Cheng Fei and Ding Anping's father brought Ding Anni over, the old lady was indeed a little surprised and worried that Ding Anni, such a pampered city girl, wouldn't be used to life here.
However, Cheng Fei's words dispelled her mother's concerns: "If she doesn't want to stay, send her home immediately. Don't waste your breath on her. I've already spoken to Uncle Ding." Although her mother didn't have much to do all day, she still didn't want her mother to serve such a pampered young lady.
Moreover, since Anping's father was so polite, the old lady really couldn't say she was unwilling.
Of course. Before leaving, Cheng Fei didn't forget to tell her mother, "If you need anything, ask that rascal Li Wei. Just make sure Ding Anni doesn't go hungry. Don't worry about anything else." Just think of it as her mother getting a puppy to raise.
The old lady was a capable person who could manage the household. She understood things very well. But we couldn't neglect the guests. So we tidied up the west room again and changed the sheets, blankets, and pillowcases.
Li Wei didn't ask Ding Anni to study with them. It was her first day. Let her rest first. Anyway, the girl brought a small tape recorder and cassette tapes and other entertainment facilities, so she wouldn't be bored.
As soon as Ding Anni arrived at Li Wei's class today, Li Lin and the others knew. Now that she's moved into her grandmother's house, Li Lin has some complaints: "Sister, when is she leaving?" Li Lin doesn't really like Ding Anni's princess-like behavior.
Li Wei looked up and glared at Li Lin: "Read your book. Mind your own business!"
Li Lin stuck out her tongue and continued writing on her worksheet. Her sister was really something. Now, with Luo Jianhua backing her up, even her parents didn't care about her punishing people anymore. Li Lin couldn't help but admire her.
As for Luo Er, Li Lianhui, and even Luo San, they didn't dare to say a word and obediently studied. Erpangzi also returned to the study group due to Aunt Lin's strong insistence. Wu Feng was bored by herself, so she studied along with everyone else, but like Li Wei, she didn't need to do as many practice papers; she just did her homework on the sidelines.
Li Wei was reading a book when she suddenly remembered Ding Anni's school tomorrow. She was going home to stay the night and needed someone to go with Ding Anni to school, and they needed transportation; she couldn't always rely on Wu Feng to drive her. She could tolerate being scolded by the princess for being a cook, but Wu Feng was a complete stranger. If she went to all that trouble and got a few words from that princess, it would be truly unfair.
Luo Da is out of the question. Putting aside the fact that he needs her, given Luo Da's personality, he might accidentally abandon the princess on the street. Li Lianhui is also out of the question; that kid is too lazy. Getting him to specifically pick up Ding Anni… that's difficult.
Now only Luo Er and Erpangzi are left.
Li Wei glanced at the two people above her book. Luo Er was a clever fellow, not serious about his studies, but enthusiastic about everything else. Upon seeing Li Wei's calculating look, he immediately sprang to his senses. His brow furrowed, and he exclaimed, "Ouch, my stomach hurts, I need to go to the toilet..." And just like that, he vanished.
Li Wei: ——
The only one left was Fatty Er, who hadn't felt anything yet and was diligently copying English words.
Seeing that Erpangzi hadn't reacted for a while, Li Wei was quite satisfied. Erpangzi was the most reliable one. So she kindly asked, "Erpangzi, could you give Ding Anni a ride to school tomorrow morning?"
At first, Erpangzi didn't react and was a little confused by the letters. Li Wei had to repeat it twice before he understood. He thought for a moment, and since he had given Xiaoming a ride before, it wasn't a big deal. So he replied, "Okay."
Li Wei was very happy, feeling that Erpang was much more reliable than Luo Er. Besides, that kid Luo Er had once led her astray, and his skills weren't great either.
After having dinner at her grandmother's house that evening, Li Wei asked Ding Anni if she could ride a bike. It wasn't good for her to always be given rides. If she could, she'd let her ride her own bike, and Erpang could take her to his house the next morning so they could get their bikes and ride together. However, Li Wei had a feeling that Ding Anni's elementary and middle schools were near home, and given how spoiled she was, it was unlikely she could ride a bike.
Sure enough, Ding Anni shook her head as soon as she heard this. She had asked to learn it when she was little, but her brother never liked to help her, so she never learned it. Li Wei thought to herself that she really had foresight and arranged for Erpangzi to go to school. She immediately told Ding Anni to find someone the next morning so that Erpangzi could ride in that person's car.
Upon hearing that it was the chubby boy next door, Ding Anni immediately shook her head vigorously, saying, "I don't want him to give me a ride, no way."
Li Wei patiently asked, "Why not? Even Fatty Er might not be willing to give you a ride all the time, and you still dare to be picky."
Ding Anni's reason seemed quite reasonable: "He's too fat. He doesn't look presentable."
Li Wei had already lost her temper and said calmly, "What's it to you? It's not like I'm finding you a boyfriend. It's good enough that he's willing to take you along. Besides, Erpang isn't fat at all. The one in your class is the fat one, okay?" She had seen photos of Ding Anni's class activities, and there was a fat boy who took up the space of two or three people. Erpang just looked a bit sturdy.
Ding Anni, biting into an apple, said, "Anyway, with so many of you, couldn't you give me a different one?"
She thought she was so popular, but this fat guy was only lured away in a somewhat confused state.
Li Wei glanced at Ding Anni and asked, "Oh? Who do you want to replace?" She wanted to see who would catch her eye.
Ding Anni, unaware of her own thoughts, said, "I think Luo Jianhua seems quite reliable." He's tall and good-looking, hmm. He's the one.
Li Wei was utterly astonished. She hadn't expected this guy to have such good taste. But how could she easily give up her personal bodyguard to him? He was dreaming!
Li Wei waved her hand and said, "This one won't do, find another one." Her tone left no room for argument.
Ding Anni was displeased: "Hey, I'm a guest! How can you treat me like this? You're the one who let me choose! Is this how you treat a guest?!"
She even had a point.
Li Wei knew Ding Anni's character all along. She remained unmoved: "You still know you're a guest? Anyone else would think you're the host, so arrogant. Let me tell you. Either have Erpangzi take you, or walk. We're all on bikes, no one's going to accompany you. You're a grown woman, you won't get lost. As for whether the kidnappers will find you, that depends on your intelligence."
Since Ding Anni started seeing Li Wei, she's encountered numerous setbacks. Her words seem less effective than before; no matter how much she threatens Li Wei, she remains unmoved. While this sometimes frustrates her, she also feels a sense of accomplishment when she manages to persuade Li Wei. After all, Li Wei is her father's shining example of success.
Sometimes people are just like that.
Ding Anni realized that asking Luo Jianhua to be her driver was out of the question, and she knew it was Li Wei's private spot. Fine, she wouldn't take advantage of someone else's happiness. "How about... what do you think of Luo Jianhua's brother?" she thought.
Li Wei was speechless. Did she think she was the sun, with all the little stars revolving around her? Luo Er had long since disappeared like a shooting star. To prevent the princess from starting to harm her brother Li Lianhui next, Li Wei bluntly said, "If no one else works, then it'll be Erpang. If Erpang doesn't want to take you, then you'll have to walk. There's no room for negotiation. Okay. Go to sleep early, I'm going home."
Ignoring Ding Anni's pout, Li Wei quickly turned to leave, but as she was about to exit the room, she couldn't help but ask curiously, "Why did you choose Luo Er, Luo Jianhua's younger brother?" Anyone with eyes would choose Luo Da; only those with poor eyesight would choose Luo...
Ding Anni said matter-of-factly, "Luo Jianhua's younger brother... oh, I mean Luo Er, he's so handsome!"
Li Wei almost fell over the threshold, but quickly grabbed the door frame to steady herself: "What's so good about him?" She really didn't want to doubt the princess's aesthetic sense, but Luo Er's monkey-like appearance, although not ugly, was far from good-looking.
Ding Anni, having recovered somewhat from her earlier setback, looked at Li Wei with the disdainful gaze one might have for a country bumpkin: "Don't you think Luo Er's eyes look a bit like Miura Tomokazu's? And his face looks a bit like him too! Hehe, I love Miura Tomokazu the most..."
Li Wei firmly believes that she is definitely not nearsighted yet, let alone presbyopic. It's just that Luo Er has such small eyes and a skinny appearance... Oh my god!
Li Wei staggered out of the room. She simply didn't have the ability to see any signs of being handsome in Luo Er now, let alone resembling any famous handsome man!
