Encounter at 226

In the north, the weather is already quite cold for the New Year. There have been two light snowfalls since the beginning of winter, but they have not been able to withstand the winter chill and have mostly melted. Only a faint trace can be seen in the dark corners of the street or on the side of the road.

Because of the New Year, shopping malls and supermarkets are decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations and are holding events to celebrate the New Year.

Especially with the growing popularity of Western holidays, many shops still have Christmas graffiti and small stickers on their windows.

Li Wei didn't know what was wrong with her. On a whim, she ran away from the party. She didn't know where she was going, but once she got on her little Beetle, she suddenly realized that the world was so big that she could go anywhere.

This half-baked driver drove for an hour and a half to the provincial capital from the highway.

She didn't intend to go find Luo Da, she just wanted to take a look around. Luo Da had been there for quite a while, so she thought she should go and have a look too.

Come to think of it, it's been several years since she last visited the provincial capital. She did go once with her aunt when she was in elementary school, but later she was busy with her studies and her aunt was busy with her work, and she didn't have much curiosity about the city, so she never went again.

As expected, she got completely lost as soon as she entered the city.

So she drove towards a crowded, tall building and finally found a shopping mall that looked quite grand. There was even a parking space at the entrance, but it was a bit small. Given her driving skills, it probably wouldn't be easy for her to squeeze in unless she risked getting into close contact with the cars on both sides.

Li Wei got out of the car early and looked around. Just then, the owner of the car next to her opened the door. Li Wei hurried over and said, "Um... big brother (--), could you please help me park my car?"

The car owner was also a young man, dressed quite well. He turned to look at a pretty young girl, then glanced in Li Wei's direction. It was a very cartoonish green Beetle. This thing didn't look very appealing, and it wasn't cheap at all. So he nodded and readily agreed, "Okay, you wait here."

The man was quite skilled; he parked Li Wei's car in the parking space in no time, as if it were child's play.

Li Wei quickly expressed her gratitude. The man waved his hand and joked with Li Wei, "It's nothing. With your skills, you should probably always have a parking attendant with you, haha..."

Li Wei looked up at the sky. She usually carried it with her at all times. It was Li Lianhui. Something came up today, so she had to fend for herself.

Li Wei's trip was impromptu. She hadn't brought much with her, only a small wallet in the inside pocket of her padded jacket, some cash, and a credit card. She was also carrying her car keys, which had a fluffy squirrel tail attached to them. She slowly strolled through the mall.

Although Li Wei has been feeling rather depressed this semester, her outward appearance has changed drastically from her usual low-key and peaceful demeanor. She wears whatever clothes and accessories she finds pleasing to the eye, regardless of what they are. While the change may not seem significant, it's clear that her style is different from that of an ordinary high school student. She just hasn't noticed it yet, but her clothing is quite expensive, even though it looks casual and relaxed.

Li Wei hadn't cut her hair for a year. Now it's below her shoulders. She usually just ties it into a simple ponytail with a hair tie, revealing her fair neck and small ears. She looks much more energetic.

She wore a cream-colored floral sweater underneath and a plain-looking light yellow corduroy padded jacket embroidered with a few small wild chrysanthemums on top. The jacket was open, revealing light brown fur trim at the collar and the seams on both sides.

This seemingly comfortable and casual cotton-padded jacket is lined with genuine light brown mink fur. Li Wei, who is sensitive to the cold, only wore a thin sweater underneath and didn't usually need to button up the jacket, yet she didn't feel cold at all.

Below, she wore ordinary light blue jeans and suede ankle boots, but the sparkly watch and bracelet on her wrist stood out. Her fair and delicate complexion, like mutton-fat jade, and her dark, bright eyes complemented each other perfectly.

A girl strolling leisurely through the mall like this is a pleasant sight to behold.

It has both a homely warmth and an extraordinary youthful beauty that makes it hard for anyone not to take a second look.

Li Wei strolled around, looking at things. She couldn't leave empty-handed; she had to buy something for Li Lin and the others to take back. But what should she buy?

Luo Da and Zou Yulong finished buying a small tape recorder at the appliance store. Zou Yulong then wandered around with Luo Da. Boys generally don't like shopping much, especially Zou Yulong. Having bought what he wanted, he was reluctant to linger and urged Luo Da, "Have you decided what to buy? Let's go straight there, don't waste time wandering around. Look at all those scarves on the shelf, they all look nice." Just as he was undecided, Zou Yulong nudged him, "Hey, I saw a beautiful girl! Look, look!"

Luo Da ignored him. This guy always sees many beautiful women when he goes out. If he were locked up for a month, he would probably see a sow as Xi Shi (a legendary beauty).

Luo Da had the waiter hand him two scarves, and he wanted to try them out. Zou Yulong nudged him again, saying, "Hey, hey..."

He accidentally poked Luo Da's arm, knocking off his scarf. Luo Da bent down to pick it up and said impatiently to Zou Yulong, "Are you done yet? It's up to you..."

Suddenly he froze, speechless. He rubbed his eyes, wondering if he was hallucinating. It seemed so, but why did his chin look a little pointed, and his hair was tied up?

After rubbing it again, it was unmistakable: the girl comparing two brightly colored woolen hats over and over was none other than Li Wei!

Zou Yulong was still chuckling in my ear: "I told you so, didn't I? When have I ever misjudged? Sigh, I don't even know which school it is. Maybe... we should go ask? Sigh... let's discuss it. Don't go by yourself..." Damn, I thought this guy was so serious, turns out he's just like me, huh...

Li Wei was holding two hats, undecided, when suddenly she had a feeling. She looked up and froze. She blinked twice. It was true, but it couldn't be such a coincidence. She blinked twice more. It was definitely true, but... it was still so dark.

Instantly, his heart leaped with joy, and a dazzling smile bloomed on his face. He was overjoyed. It was truly like... a big, dark guy had fallen from the sky. He threw down his hat, stretched out his arms, and ran over. Luo Da picked him up and spun him around in his arms. Both of them were laughing so hard they couldn't stop, completely forgetting their surroundings.

Zou Yulong was stunned. What... how fast is this? They hooked up so quickly? Even the legendary love at first sight wouldn't be this fast, right? Has the world really changed, and he's out of touch?

Luo Laosi. I admire you.

You're the kind of person who, when you finally speak, makes a stunning entrance. Even if you're just grinning like an idiot, Zou Yulong, the third party, is much more level-headed. He quickly snapped out of his fervent admiration for Luo Dan and stepped forward to become the voice of the people.

"Um... you two, shouldn't we find a place to sit down and have some fun? This is a bit... blocking traffic..." Zou Yulong thought to himself that these two had completely fallen into a temporary daze, especially Luo Xiaosi. "Do they not recognize me anymore? There are only women around, no men."

The two snapped out of their daze, and Li Wei gave Zou Yulong an embarrassed smile. Luo Da introduced, "My classmate and roommate, Zou Yulong. Oh, and this is Li Wei."

The two greeted each other. They were now acquainted. Since none of them had eaten dinner, Zou Yulong suggested that they find a place to eat something and sit for a while.

Neither of them was particularly happy and they were looking for a secluded place to chat, but this third wheel seemed stubbornly persistent, refusing to be polite or give them any privacy.

Luo Da really wanted to kick Zou Yulong away, but he refrained from doing so. He figured he had to eat anyway, so he might as well finish his meal first.

Now that Luo Da was driving, Li Wei didn't need to find someone to back the car out.

However, when Luo Da left the mall and saw the little Beetle that Li Wei had driven, he was still surprised and a little uncertain: "Did you drive here yourself?"

Li Wei was a little smug: "How about that, pretty impressive, huh... hehe..."

Luo Da had a bad feeling. This guy didn't seem that smart to be able to drive so well in just a few months, and besides, he didn't have the time.

Luo Da simply stopped moving: "Back the car out of the parking space so I can see."

Li Wei cleared her throat: "Ahem, actually, I don't usually reverse, so I haven't had a chance to practice. I've never understood why there's such a thing as a reverse car..."

Luo Da Zou Yulong —

Sitting in the rather cramped back seat of the car, Zou Yulong couldn't help but marvel. Someone who couldn't even reverse had actually driven over 100 kilometers to the provincial capital and parked it steadily—it was truly a miracle.

He witnessed quite a few miracles today.

Moreover, Zou Yulong secretly guessed that this was probably the girl Luo Jianhua was harassing with by making phone calls. It seemed that the two had a good relationship. Why was he acting so mysteriously? There was no sound when he made the call. It was really dizzying to watch.

Luo Da drove to a nearby restaurant, and the three of them went in, ordered a few dishes, and chatted while they ate.

Li Wei's reason for coming here was: she felt bored and wanted to get out for a drive, even though it was a bit far.

Although Luo Da felt that Li Wei's half-baked driving skills were a bit inappropriate for her to drive around recklessly, he was currently overjoyed and decided to put the matter aside for the time being.

Li Wei looked at Luo Da and saw that he seemed to have grown taller and thinner, looking more like a young man than a teenager. His eyes and brows showed more maturity and less naivety.

While Luo Da was serving Li Wei her favorite dishes, he was also scrutinizing her closely, from her hair to her shoes, looking at her countless times, his lips never drooping in a smile...

Zou Yulong couldn't take it anymore and quickly shoveled rice and vegetables into his mouth, otherwise he was worried he wouldn't be able to eat. It was too cheesy, and he had to finish eating and leave immediately. He didn't feel it when watching a movie, but watching a reality show was really unbearable. His hair and goosebumps were all about to rise up in rebellion.

This usually stern-faced judge has suddenly transformed into a heartthrob; it's quite a shock.

Ahem, everything takes time; we can't be like foreigners and jump into bed all at once. ^^ It's daytime now, so it's nighttime, right? ^^
