Fifty-eight men's bicycle
Today, Li Wei probably rode her bike for a long time and did heavy physical labor. It seems she didn't do much work, but when she got home in the evening, she felt a little soreness in her groin.
She didn't even go to the old house to see her grandmother; she went straight home, showered, changed into her pajamas, and lay on the bed flipping through magazines to rest. She sighed, realizing that even though labor was tiring, it had its benefits—at least the teachers wouldn't assign homework. Thinking about how she had to study diligently for four years of junior high and high school, Li Wei was now taking it easy, enjoying each day as it came. Ultimately, she was just a simple girl with little ambition or drive, only wanting to live a happy and carefree life. Even in her past life, the only effort she made for her entire life was in those four years.
As I flipped through the magazine, an article caught my eye, and I sat up to read it intently.
The story goes like this: A man married a woman, and on their wedding night, he discovered that she was not a virgin. He questioned her, "What happened? Who touched my cheese?"
The woman said, "I lost my bike while riding it. I didn't mean to, really."
A man, filled with doubt, went to ask a doctor, who replied that it was possible. (This man was undoubtedly a quack.)
Regarding the claim that the bicycle was actually male, Li Wei seemed to have heard of it in her previous life. However, since she had never been to a bridal chamber, she couldn't verify whether the bicycle she used to ride was actually male.
Now here's the problem: better safe than sorry. She's never had sex in either of her two lifetimes, and now she's lost her things—it's truly unfair! Should she continue riding around on a men's bicycle? If something bad happens, her future husband will question her, and she'll be more wronged than Dou E (a legendary figure known for her tragic fate). How will she explain her inappropriate relationship with the bicycle? Will anyone believe her?
Li Wei thought about it for a long time and decided that she should stop cycling as soon as possible while she still had some time left. Walking would be a good way to exercise, as it's a form of aerobic exercise. She heard that the school's back gate was quite close, so she could take a shortcut through the back gate and get used to it eventually.
Starting the next day, Li Wei cut all ties with her bicycle.
Of course, they also advised Li Lin and Wu Feng, but they were too embarrassed to talk to the child about ** (a euphemism for sexual activity). They only vaguely mentioned that bicycles are bad for girls' health and advised the two of them not to ride them anymore.
Li Lin simply didn't believe it. Ever since this girl broke free from her sister's control, she'd become increasingly daring to challenge Li Wei's authority. She pouted and said, "I see people riding bikes at the gym on TV. You know more than the TV!" At such a young age, she already showed the beginnings of blindly believing in the media.
Wu Feng was, after all, in the same class as Li Wei, and thus within Li Wei's sphere of influence. However, her child was growing up and naturally had some independent thoughts. So, she hesitated and said, "Really? My mom has been riding a bike for years, and she's doing just fine, hasn't she?"
Li Wei really wanted to say, "You should ask your dad whether your mom is okay or not." But at least she didn't say it out loud.
Since others don't believe her, it's probably hard to find people who would. Besides, the magazine also mentioned that the truth is still undetermined. So maybe the bicycle was wrongly accused. Li Wei decided not to force anyone and risk offending them.
Finally, she was the only one among her companions who didn't want to ride anymore.
At first, because she didn't like getting up, she was always a little late, so she would hitch a ride on other people's bicycles. Li Lin and Li Lianhui went to school earlier than her. She also liked to live in the old house with her grandmother, so she usually couldn't get a ride on the twins' bikes. Wu Feng was also a diligent child. After going to school in the morning, she could often hitch a ride on cheap bikes with Luo Da, Luo Er, and Er Pangzi.
The one you can usually catch is Erpangzi. Although Erpangzi and his brother Dajunzi are both in the first year of junior high school, they are the opposite of each other. Dajunzi is bad at studying and is naughty, so he treats going to school as a game. Erpangzi is good at studying, honest, and he is also reasonably serious about studying. Dajunzi leaves early and returns late every day, and you don't know what he does. Erpangzi leaves late and returns early, and always hangs around the neighborhood.
So Li Wei often got to ride on Er Pangzi's free bicycle, always sitting on the back seat.
Actually, to be honest, Li Wei's favorite bike was Luo Da's. It was stable and smooth, and the chain never fell off. Unlike Er Pangzi and Luo Er, whose riding skills were poor and who had taken Li Wei to the roadside ditch, Li Wei had to be careful and vigilant every time she rode a bike, never daring to relax for a moment. Getting to school was much more tiring than riding a bike.
The worst time was riding on Luo Er's bicycle. Luo Er himself was as unsteady as a monkey. That day, Xiao Huang and Xiao Hei overtook them from behind with a grin. Although Xiao Hei and the others were somewhat wary of Luo Da, they were much less cautious of Luo Er. After overtaking, Xiao Huang turned around and chuckled, "Luo Jianzhong, are you riding a bicycle or an oxcart? Hahaha..."
Although Luo Er wasn't as arrogant as his brother, he was still a formidable figure, second only to his brother. He was skilled in martial arts, academically gifted, and eloquent. He was well-regarded by teachers and among the boys, and had never been so humiliated. He pedaled furiously, overtaking the two boys in yellow and black bicycles, who then overtook him, and then Luo Er…
After a few times, Luo Er started to fall behind, since he had someone on the back seat who was terrified and kept yelling at Luo Er to slow down...
How could Li Wei not be scared? The three boys were only concerned with their own madness and almost threw her off the bike several times. She was so scared that she clung tightly to Luo Er's small waist and dared not let go. Even though her voice was almost hoarse from screaming, Luo Er, who had been provoked, acted as if he hadn't heard her. If it weren't for the fact that the old-fashioned bicycle was going too fast and that she was small and had short legs, Li Wei would have jumped off the bike long ago.
Seeing that Luo Er couldn't catch up, the two yellow and black dogs, determined to annoy him, slowed down and sandwiched him between their left and right sides, weaving him through the traffic like a dragon. Luckily, there weren't many cars on the road, otherwise it would have been quite dangerous. Luo Er, furious, slammed the front wheel into the black dog on his right without thinking. The force was too much, and the black dog, caught off guard, was knocked over and fell. Luo Er and the yellow dog were also caught in the blast, resulting in all three of them falling to the ground.
Li Wei was not spared either, sandwiched between two bicycles. Although she was not seriously injured, she inevitably suffered some scrapes. She was also startled and squeezed out from between the bicycles, kicking the nearest black one. Damn it, why does this brat always like to cause trouble? Whenever something bad happens, you can always see his lewd figure.
Xiao Hei was kicked by Li Wei, but it didn't hurt much. How much force could Li Wei have? It was more like a tickle. But Xiao Hei still mischievously cried out "Ouch!" which prevented Li Wei from landing her second kick.
Li Wei was so angry that she refused to ride in Luo Er's car and walked to the school. Anyway, she had already traveled most of the way and would arrive soon.
As for riding in Erpangzi's bicycle, it's not as good as Luo Er's. Luo Er only fell because he was arguing with someone; otherwise, he was quite steady. As for Erpangzi himself, he would sometimes get distracted while riding and rear-end an old lady walking by. What's more, once he even chased after someone's carriage. Every time Li Wei rode on his bicycle, she felt her neck stretch out a lot after getting off because she had to watch the road ahead for him. She was afraid that after a while, she would become a giraffe.
Gradually, Li Wei found that hitchhiking was more comfortable and less strenuous, although it sometimes carried a bit of risk. So, after some thought, Li Wei decided to hitchhike with Luo Da, especially when she was staying at her grandmother's house, where it was even more convenient.
Over time, Luo Da got used to it, and sometimes he would wait for Li Wei if she came out late. Luo Da had the advantage of most boys not arguing, and he was also used to being enslaved by Li Wei since he was a child, so he didn't feel like he was being taken advantage of. He felt like he was carrying a bag of rice. Although he found the little red flower cotton cushion that Li Wei tied to the back of his car a bit of an eyesore, he didn't remove it.
Li Wei didn't feel there was anything wrong with often riding in other people's cars. This kid had drunk her family's goat milk, eaten her family's steamed buns, and bathed at her house quite a bit. Otherwise, how could he have grown up so fast and strong? He had also learned martial arts from his grandfather, and she had even helped him learn. In the future, he should be grateful to her. She was just collecting some interest from him now, which was a good deal for him.
The advantage of riding in Luo Da's car, besides being relatively stable, is that no one bothers Luo Da, especially the likes of Xiao Huang and Xiao Hei. Of course, there are also some older students who don't know their place and whistle hooliganly at Luo Da and his group. They get kicked into a ditch by Luo Da, their own car tilts slightly but then stabilizes, and they drive away without any surprises.
Li Wei, sitting in the back, was speechless. That was amazing! Looking back at the boy who had climbed out of the ditch, he hadn't dared to chase after her on his bike to demand an explanation, just trailing far behind. Li Wei wondered if that was the kid who had just blown the whistle like a hooligan. If it was him, he had the guts to mess with Master Luo, but he didn't dare come up and challenge him. What a coward! Li Wei found riding in Master Luo's bike quite entertaining.
She found it interesting, but others didn't.
Both Li Wei and Luo Da were well-known figures in this junior high school. Li Wei was beautiful, academically gifted, and rumored to be from a wealthy family. She also had a famous younger sister who inspected each class's hygiene and discipline every day; it was impossible for her not to be famous. Luo Da's reputation was entirely earned among the town's boys. Every boy with even a slight understanding of local gossip knew of Luo Jianhua.
It would be strange if these two, who were going to and from school every day, didn't have any feelings for each other, especially since they were teenagers.
But it was all gossip in secret; no one dared to say it out loud. As for Li Wei's close friends, including Wu Feng, Fatty Er, and Li Lin, they didn't have any other thoughts. They'd always been good friends; what was wrong with giving someone a ride on a bicycle? Everyone had eaten steamed buns, bean buns, and snacks at Li Wei's house, and everyone had been disciplined by her.
As they grew older, they learned to appreciate what was good for them. Because Li Wei treated them unconditionally well, they felt no distance from her and treated her almost like family. Otherwise, would Li Wei have been so picky about whose car she wanted to ride in and whose car she didn't?
However, some students with ulterior motives always managed to spread unfounded suspicions to their homeroom teacher, the spinster Liu Suqin. Liu, who had been teaching for many years without getting married, was most disgusted by students who, at such a young age, lacked ambition, and even more so by those who, instead of studying properly, spent their days flirting with boys and girls – a blatant provocation.
Although she observed Li Wei and Luo Da closely in class and didn't notice anything inappropriate, not even a hint of flirting, the sight of the two young people riding away on a bicycle still stirred something within her.
After observing for several days, Ms. Liu decided that she could not let things continue like this; she had to take some action, otherwise the two children would be ruined.
The old lady Liu, who was nearly forty years old but still had neither nearsightedness nor presbyopia, seemed to have a profound vision of the two men's bleak future through their behavior of riding a bicycle together. How amazing!
