The 309th God of Wealth's Relatives

The 309th God of Wealth's Relatives

Li Wei rushed to school, but she was still late.

She sneaked into the combined classroom through the back door, a trick she had never done before. Her heart was pounding, but luckily no one noticed her, and she managed to get away with it.

The professor of English stylistics was an elderly professor with an almost fanatical admiration and love for Shakespeare. It was said that he had studied abroad for many years in his early years. Li Wei didn't feel anything else, but at least the old professor had a standard Oxford accent, which made him very respectable.

Li Wei secretly sat down in the last row of the classroom and opened her book to listen to the lecture.

Over the years, I've developed a habit that means that no matter what's going on, as long as I'm in class listening to the lecture, I can basically forget about everything else and deal with things after class.

However, during the break, she didn't need to look for anyone; Tang Ying came to find her, and Jiang Xiaoshi also came along.

Li Wei asked curiously, "Is there something you need? It's an honor to have both of you come all this way."

Jiang Xiaoshi said quickly, "Oh dear, why are you so late today? I've been waiting for you all morning. I guess the whole class already knows. It's official news that there will be an exam after the National Day holiday. It's about selecting students to study in the UK for a short period. If you want to go, you should prepare. There are two parts: an oral exam and a written exam."

Tang Ying nodded in agreement: "That's right, I was just about to tell you about this. Registration starts today and ends tomorrow. What are you planning to do? Are you really not going?"

Li Wei smiled and nodded: "Yes, thank you for thinking of me. I really hadn't considered it. Good luck to you guys."

Jiang Xiaoshi couldn't quite understand it. Although she had heard many rumors about Li Wei, she didn't believe them deep down. She always felt that someone as easy to get along with as Li Wei and without any spoiled attitude wouldn't be as terrible as the rumors made her out to be.

Li Wei, in particular, studies very hard. Her exam scores have always been among the best.

Jiang Xiaoshi also knew about other girls who were truly being kept. They weren't serious about studying. All they did was dress up, go shopping, or go out. Basically, their lives revolved around eating, drinking, and having fun.

But Li Wei remained simple and low-key, not much different from most students. Therefore, Jiang Xiaoshi always felt that even if Li Wei was truly being kept, there must be some unavoidable reason, and she still knew how to be positive, hardworking, and ambitious. That made her a good girl.

But now Li Wei says she doesn't want to sign up, which she finds very hard to understand. Going abroad to gain experience and improve one's credentials would be a huge difference for language learners like them. If they could choose a different major, it would be a major turning point in their lives.

So Jiang Xiaoshi advised again, "Your grades are so good. You should really think about it. This is a rare opportunity. You'll have plenty of opportunities to go out and work later, but the degree you get then won't be as valuable as the one you get now. You should really think it over carefully."

Li Wei sensed Jiang Xiaoshi's kindness. She quickly pulled her to sit down: "Thank you for your kindness. I really can't get away. I'll talk to you about it another time. You should focus on your studies. Oh, by the way, I have plenty of study materials. Just tell me what you need, and I'll get it for you if I have it."

Unexpectedly, just before graduation, I found a friend. It seems I really did miss a lot of opportunities.

Li Wei then asked Xu Ting, who, according to Jiang Xiaoshi, hadn't returned yet, but was probably coming soon.

After finishing my morning classes, I was driving home when I noticed a young couple joking around in the car next to me while I was waiting at a traffic light.

The woman seemed a little shy, but the man's expression and demeanor showed he was a seasoned lover. Although his movements were small, his eyes and brows conveyed affection, and he was facing Li Wei's direction, which Li Wei could see very clearly.

That guy, taking a break from his busy schedule, even winked at Li Wei -_-|||

Li Wei glanced at the remaining ten seconds and suddenly had a mischievous idea. She lifted her delicate hand from the steering wheel and gently kissed it, then waved her hand lightly and made a big, funny face at the guy, like a hanged ghost.

The man paused for a moment, then suddenly burst into laughter, resting his head on his female companion's shoulder and shaking it incessantly.

Li Wei stepped on the gas and drove off, without delaying the cars waiting at the red light behind her at all.

Meanwhile, the man with the peach blossom hairstyle was honked at loudly from behind. Li Wei guessed that quite a few people were calling him crazy and slow-witted.

Having done something naughty, Li Wei suddenly felt exhilarated. She quite enjoyed the feeling of speeding along. The wind rushed in through the half-open car window, making her long hair dance wildly, as if it were about to merge into the wind.

Instead of going straight home, I drove around the ring road for a while. Eventually, I got a bit hungry, and there happened to be a restaurant on the side of the road that looked nicely decorated.

Most importantly, the parking lot was also full. If there are a lot of cars in front of a restaurant, the food must be pretty good, otherwise who would drive all the way here to eat?

It is said that someone, based on this phenomenon, specially obtained a scrapped car, sprayed it with paint, and parked it in front of the restaurant all day to attract business, and surprisingly, it worked quite well.

Li Wei walked in carrying her schoolbag. A waiter led her to a seat. Li Wei sat down and looked around. The environment was very elegant, with waterwheels, flowing water, and green bamboo. The waiters who came and went were dressed in cheongsams and mandarin jackets, which were in a retro style.

Li Wei glanced at the menu, realizing she couldn't eat much anyway, so she stopped looking and ordered a spicy stir-fried eel, a vegetable dish, a bowl of soup, and a bowl of rice. She decided to just eat a little.

As Aunt Gao's culinary skills improved, Li Wei's taste became more discerning. She felt that many dishes made outside were not as good as Aunt Gao's. Most importantly, the quality of the ingredients was guaranteed, so she could eat with peace of mind.

It was a little spicy, but at least it was good with rice. After drinking a small bowl of soup and eating a bowl of rice, Li Wei felt that was enough. She leaned back in the soft seat cushion, squinted her eyes and spaced out for a while before calling the waiter to pay the bill.

The waiter informed her, "Miss, your bill has already been paid."

Huh? Li Wei was stunned for a moment. Had her memory become so bad that she had completely forgotten that she had already paid the bill after sitting there for only a few minutes?

The waiter clearly noticed Li Wei's confusion and gestured to the side behind her: "It was the gentleman at that table over there who paid the bill. He said it was on you."

Li Wei breathed a sigh of relief, thankfully she hadn't developed dementia prematurely. She turned her head and glanced at it, (#) Damn!

Wasn't that the guy I met while waiting at the red light? He was having dinner with that woman. Li Wei didn't want to get involved with him. She took out her purse from her bag and said as she took out the money, "Tell him that I'm broke or something, why is he making a fuss? Also, don't change a single word. Send me the exact words. Here, any extra is a tip. Remember, the exact words."

Damn, it's only a few dozen yuan. You're acting all generous. If it were more, she might consider it.

Li Wei ignored the showy guy, picked up her bag and left. Feeling at ease, she went straight home.

As soon as she stepped into the living room, she felt that she might as well have stayed outside. She saw Shen Tao and Liao Kaiwen sitting in her living room, both dressed impeccably and exuding elegance, while Aunt Gao stood to the side, hands clasped together, looking somewhat helpless.

Li Wei had another headache. She wanted to pretend that Aunt Gao had seen her when she hadn't come back, but she had no choice but to step inside.

Look at this one, glance at that one: "Hehe, you're all here. What's up?" If you're all grown men, can't you handle it yourselves?

The two looked up at Li Wei, who was wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt and jeans, carrying a canvas bag, with her hair cascading over her shoulders like dark clouds stepping on snow. Her face was bare of makeup, yet she looked as beautiful as a lotus emerging from clear water, and her expression was very innocent.

Shen Tao smiled and said, "It's nothing, I'm just a little tired from work. I'll come to your house for a visit. It's nothing serious. Didn't you say that small businesses shouldn't bother you, sir?"

Liao Kaiwen snorted: "It's nothing serious. I'm just a businessman who runs a small business. We're neighbors, so I came to pay a visit."

It seems that both of them have some resentment, but what is there to resent? There is a sequence to learning, and everyone has their own expertise. Isn't doing business their original profession?

Li Wei threw away her somewhat heavy schoolbag and sat down a distance away from the two people, in case someone suddenly attacked her.

Not very confidently: "Hey you two, are you having some trouble? Let me tell you, if you're having trouble, figure it out yourselves. Otherwise, how can you justify your salaries? As for the boss, he just listens to the results with a stern face and that's it. You two are both busy people, so I won't keep you from working. Shouldn't we call it a day?"

Shen Tao felt like vomiting blood, Liao Kaiwen wanted to recite poetry, you are as beautiful as a cactus flower~~

Li Wei wanted to go upstairs to sleep; she had just finished eating and then drove, and was feeling a bit sleepy.

Shen Tao spoke first: "Shouldn't we discuss many things together, especially since the Liu family is involved? Shouldn't you give us some advice?"

Li Wei: "Our motto is to take less money and more shares. What, have you forgotten? Remember I told you before that anyone who wants to invest should follow this policy."

Liao Kaiwen's lips twitched, but he didn't say anything.

Shen Tao wiped his face: "Oh, so we don't need to give way to the Liu family at all?"

Damn it, Li Wei was too lazy to expose his hypocritical true colors. He came here to pretend to be kind to her. She waved her hand cooperatively: "We also have a motto: the business world is like a battlefield. I don't care if you live or die, I will live. Isn't that what you said? I haven't forgotten."

Shen Tao wiped his face again: "You have a really good memory."

"That's Kevin. You see, Manager Shen basically makes all the decisions in my company. Why don't you two find a place to hold a meeting sometime? Oh, and don't forget to bring your aunt along. She's very capable and has a knack for public relations. Take her with you."

Undeterred, Shen Tao asked, "Do you know how much property is involved this time?"

Li Wei asked in confusion: "What, you don't have enough money? If you don't, tell me. The God of Wealth is my relative. I'll go and ask him how much you need."

If you two don't bother me unless it's absolutely necessary, then you're relatives too.
