Three Hundred and Twenty-Nine Wine Country Double Flowers
Li Wei felt she was busy enough, leaving early and returning late every day. What surprised her most was that Li Lin and Ding Anni were even busier than her.
He might not leave earlier than her in the morning, but he would definitely come back later than her at night. After several days of this, Li Wei couldn't take it anymore.
That evening after get off work, she told Zhuang Tian in advance that she had something to do and asked her to leave first, while she planned to wait for those two busy rising stars to see what they were up to.
Li Wei and Zhuang Tian have a pretty good relationship now, since they're both locals and it's relatively easy for them to communicate. Unlike Ms. Chen, who is Steven's personal assistant, her lifestyle, behavior, and interpersonal skills seem somewhat out of place with everyone else. Of course, it seems Ms. Chen cares about this too; as long as everyone does their job well, she's generally easy to talk to.
Especially when Zhuang Tian was doing Li Wei's makeup, she noticed that Li Wei's skin was indeed quite good. She asked about her skincare secrets, and Li Wei shared some of her own experiences with her. She also copied down a few beauty and skincare soup recipes for her. The next day, she gave her two brand-name cosmetic face masks.
Zhuang Tian was also very proactive in giving Li Wei some makeup tips and experience during work. She was quite professional in this area and had a lot of skills.
The two women immediately became closer than ever before, and their cooperation was quite pleasant. Meanwhile, Steven moved to a hotel near the TV station, and Zhuang Tian no longer had a ride to take. She took Li Wei's ride twice and learned that Li Wei was married and had a child. Although she was surprised, she was more curious and became increasingly close to Li Wei.
She declined Steven and Ms. Chen's invitation to have dinner together and left their program.
Basically, Li Wei is doing quite well at work right now, except for her occasional annoyance with Li Lin and Ding Anni, who seem to appear out of nowhere every day.
After changing her clothes and carrying a large bag full of odds and ends, Li Wei strolled leisurely to Liu Lihua's department. She found her office by looking at the door number, knocked on the door, and after being told to go in, she found Liu Lihua still on the phone.
Liu Lihua saw it was Li Wei. She smiled and silently gestured for her to sit down and wait a moment. After quickly finishing her business and hanging up the phone, she turned to Li Wei: "Busy person, how come you have so much free time today? I think your program team is the busiest in the entire TV station. You often work overtime at night."
Li Wei smiled and said, "We're rushing to meet the deadline. You know that there's a time limit over there. No matter what, the task must be completed within the specified time. Even if you're just reading a text, you have to finish reading it in front of the camera."
Liu Lihua nodded. She knew a little about it. This was what they called the efficiency of foreign companies. Unlike them, who were used to a slower pace: "What brings you here today? You wouldn't come unless you had a reason, would you?"
Li Wei settled herself on the sofa to make herself more comfortable. She took out a box of face masks from her bag, which Zhuang Tian had recommended highly. She handed it to Liu Lihua: "Here you go. Zhuang Tian said they work very well. But I also brought you an extra whitening one. Try it. I think this one is good too."
Liu Lihua smiled, thanked her, and took the items. Li Wei then took out the items. Without even looking, it was clear they were expensive. She glanced at the brand. Sure enough. It was impossible for her not to feel uncomfortable: "I won't stand on ceremony with you, haha."
Li Wei: "Don't mention it. It's nothing really. I just noticed my sister and Ding Anni acting strangely all day. I wondered what they were doing and just wanted to ask you."
Hearing this, Liu Lihua couldn't help but laugh: "Haha, you're really worried. To be honest, I thought your sister and your classmates were similar, since you seem to be younger and less experienced in the world. But actually, after I introduced them to the guys in the advertising department, I found it was completely different. The two girls are really thriving. Not only do they get along well with them, but I also take them with me on shoots. Apparently, they're quite capable and have secured two good deals for the advertising department these past few days. Yesterday, the head of the advertising department even told me they're talented and they'd like to keep them, hehe."
Li Wei was a little dumbfounded: "Talent? They are good-looking, but I can't see any special talents. What kind of talent are they? Don't tell me that they are successful because they are beautiful and can attract a lot of attention wherever they go."
Liu Lihua chuckled: "You're so funny. There's no doubt you're beautiful. As for talent, you're quite eloquent and perceptive. I heard that the two of them can drink quite a bit. In just a few days, they've already beaten everyone in the advertising department. Oh, the drinking ability is mainly due to your sister. Ding Anni is mainly good at getting things done. I heard from two young people that just one glance from her makes them feel weak for a long time, haha."
Li Wei propped her head up, feeling dizzy and lightheaded. She hadn't even noticed that two PR girls had appeared beside her. Ugh!
Fortunately, Li Lin and Ding Anni didn't have any social engagements today. Liu Lihua made a phone call, and the two, who were chatting with their staff, arrived in less than ten minutes.
The two are currently working at the TV station as newly popular non-staff members. Unlike Li Wei, who is a high-level executive who spends all her time with high-level people, the two are in a superior position and can only look up to ordinary staff members.
Li Wei watched as the two men entered and immediately started chatting with Liu Lihua as if they were old friends. She sized them up several times, and to be honest, these two really did seem quite sophisticated and worldly-wise in a real social setting. They made Liu Lihua blush and feel utterly smug, unsure if she was truly a stunning beauty.
The four of them originally planned to go out for dinner together, but Liu Lihua had something come up and couldn't go, so Li Wei drove the two of them home.
After leaving the TV station, Li Wei thought for a moment and couldn't help but say to the two of them, "I heard you two can drink quite a bit. You should socialize with those people less often. Alcohol isn't a good thing, so try to avoid it, especially since you two are both girls. Be careful not to get taken advantage of."
Li Lin said nonchalantly, "I know, sis. It would be strange if we were to suffer a loss. But you, we've heard that Steven, that traitor in your production team, seems to have a thing for you. Our advertising department knows about it. Be careful, don't get hurt. When your brother-in-law comes back, let's see how you explain yourself."
"That brat!" Li Wei was so angry she almost cursed out loud. She had meant well, but this girl had actually poked at her heart, stabbing her where it hurt. She was already quite upset that Da Luo hadn't been heard from, and now this moralist had jumped out and questioned her character. It was infuriating!
Li Wei didn't say anything more, her face looking rather pale. Ding Anni, however, was quick to read the room and smoothed things over: "Oh, you two, don't talk about that anymore. I'm sure Luo Jianhua will be back soon. It's no wonder he misses home. We'll be extra careful, don't worry. The two of them will look after each other if anything goes wrong. Li Lin knows what she's doing; she's never been drunk. Li Wei, don't worry about her."
Li Wei didn't say anything and drove silently. Li Lin also felt that she had spoken a bit too harshly and said somewhat awkwardly, "I'm an adult, I can tell right from wrong."
Li Wei ignored her and went home without saying a word.
