Chapter 47: Consummating the Marriage with the Rooster

Xia Qinghe looked at her coldly, her words tinged with meaning: "When we have our wedding night, if the prince asks about the scar on my face, how do you think I should explain it to him?"

"You bitch, how dare you threaten me?"

As their eyes met, Ye Wanning glanced at Xia Qinghe's face with a resentful look, as if she wanted to strangle her, but she held the handkerchief tightly and endured it.

She bent down and helped Xia Qinghe up. Her sharp nails pinched Xia Qinghe's wrist fiercely under her sleeves and whispered in her ear: "Want to spend the wedding night with the prince? You are not worthy!"

"Xia Qinghe, you should understand that even if I die, I will always be superior to you!

Ye Wanning grabbed Xia Qinghe's shoulders and threw her to the ground again.

Xia Qinghe fell to the ground fiercely, tears streaming down her face: "You...you dare..."

Ye Wanning glanced at her coldly and shouted, "Go outside and call a few maids in."

"yes."

Qiu Ting nodded and ran out.

Not long after, several servants came.

"Mrs. Xia's words and actions are outrageous. As a concubine, it's time for me to teach her some manners."

Ye Wanning pointed at Xia Qinghe lying on the ground and said to the maids, "You guys, take her to the side room and lock her up!"

"yes!"

Upon hearing this, several old women immediately stepped forward, roughly pulled Xia Qinghe up from the ground, and twisted and pinched her.

Xia Qinghe cried and struggled, "Let me go! When the prince comes back, I won't let you go! Let me go..."

Seeing her quickly dragged away by the old woman, Ye Wanning felt relieved. She stroked the cold pearls and jade on her hair and instructed Qiu Ting behind her:

"Prepare a few more pots of good wine for the prince today, so that he can have a few drinks at the banquet."

Qiu Ting responded and went down to prepare.

Seeing her leave, Ye Wanning sat back in the chair, picked up the tea and took a small sip.

A maid came up and squatted to clean up the mess on the ground, but was stopped by Ye Wanning: "Such a beautiful bracelet, it's a pity to break it. Let's wait until the prince takes a look before we clean it up!"

After punishing that bitch, she must give Xiao Qingyun an explanation.

The maid took the order and retreated.

Ye Wanning sneered. Although she was not favored, no one in this mansion could get ahead of her!

Today, she wants to set some rules for these little vixens!

The banquets in the palace are different. The scale is much higher than that in the county town. The guests' tables are full of meat dishes, and even the rapeseed and tofu are braised with minced meat.

Lingzhi sat happily at the table, eating and drinking with Xiao Qingyun.

"You've already had three cups. The prince will have his wedding night soon, so you'd better not drink anymore." Lingzhi advised.

"It's alright, it was just a verbal agreement. I have fulfilled my promise and I am trustworthy."

Xiao Qingyun waved his hand. Others didn't know that he was very restrained. He would not spend his wedding night with anyone except A Li.

"If you drink any more, you'll really get drunk." Lingzhi was a little hesitant.

"If you don't get drunk while drinking, it's like drinking for nothing!"

Xiao Qingyun smiled and said, "Lingzhi, you won't be scared anymore, right?"

Seeing that the atmosphere has been raised to this point, Lingzhi naturally cannot give in.

"If that's the case, then don't regret it! Just like we said before, if I win, you have to return the indenture to me!"

Xiao Qingyun smiled and nodded.

The two of them then started drinking, neither of them giving in.

I watched him drink cup after cup, but nothing happened.

Lingzhi got anxious, so he picked up the wine jar and blew directly into the bottle.

Xia Qinghe was pulled into the side room.

Unlike the main hall which was decorated with red everywhere and red candles hanging high, this place was deserted and remote, and the room was small and dark.

Several old women stood in front of her with a swagger, looking at her with contempt.

"This vulgar concubine's daughter just doesn't know the rules. It's not even the wedding time yet, and she's already taken off her bridal veil!"

"She looks so voluptuous and vulgar, and at first glance, she's a shameless person..."

Several old women laughed wildly, their voices were so harsh and their words were so vicious that Xia Qinghe could not bear it.

She stood up straight, her face filled with anger. "You old bastards! I am the prince's concubine after all. How can I allow you lowly servants to slander me?"

The old woman immediately put her hands on her hips and replied, "Oh, this vixen is still showing off to us. When I came to the mansion to serve you, you didn't even know where you were getting into trouble!"

"Exactly. Do you really think you're worth a damn? There are over a dozen concubines in this mansion. Do you really think you can be favored?"

Before Xia Qinghe could say anything, she saw another old woman come in with a big rooster in her arms.

"This is the rooster that Concubine Ye gave you for your bridal chamber. Tonight, let this rooster sleep with you in your bridal chamber!"

Xia Qinghe felt a dark cloud over her vision when she heard this, and immediately rushed back: "Where's the prince? I want to see the prince!"

Several fierce old women immediately grabbed her, twisted her hands behind her back, and dragged her towards the bed.

"The prince drank too much and won't come over tonight. Aunt Xia can just sleep with him."

As he said this, he tried his best to stuff the big rooster into Xia Qinghe's arms.

Xia Qinghe screamed and struggled frantically: "Let me go! How could you let me consummate my marriage with a rooster? Aren't you deliberately humiliating me?!"

"How outrageous! How can you call it humiliation? This is a gift from the concubine! The prince is a precious daughter, and naturally he couldn't consummate the marriage when he was drunk and not feeling well. The concubine was kind-hearted and thought of the concubine, so she sent a rooster to consummate the marriage. This is a great gift to the concubine, out of consideration for the concubine!"

"That's right. I heard that you were planning to complain to our concubine during the wedding night. How shameless!"
