Chapter 1036: Meeting Wen Zheng

Zhong Tianming didn't dare to say anything, as he felt that his daughter had been getting more and more distant from them recently. In the past, Zhong Yuan would come back and tell them about any difficulties she encountered at work, but now, she would rather stay in the laboratory by herself than come back and tell them.

Qian Min could guess a little bit even without him saying anything, so she was calmer: "You must not be soft-hearted about this matter. Have you forgotten about Tingting? Yuanyuan is simple and can be easily deceived."

Zhong Tianming sighed, still worried about pushing his daughter further away.

On Saturday afternoon, Sheng Anning and Zhou Hongyun went to buy meat and vegetables. It was hot and there was no refrigerator, so they braised the meat first and bought meat for cooking early the next morning.

Sheng An Ning was worried that it wouldn't be enough: "It's their first time here. If it's not enough and the food is too shabby, it won't look good."

Zhou Hongyun looked at the table full of vegetables and meat: "That should be enough. If there's more, we won't be able to finish it. Besides, even if you go to the hotel for a meal, it won't be that sumptuous."

Sheng Anning was still worried, so she got up early on Sunday morning and went to the market outside the staff compound to buy fish.

The vegetable market was spontaneously established by nearby farmers. At first, only people came with carts to sell vegetables, and later people came to sell meat, tofu, and some cooked food. Gradually, it became a large-scale market.

Like a small farmers market.

Sheng An Ning was carrying a basket of vegetables. Seeing that the vegetables were very fresh and tender, she couldn't help but buy two more bunches. She also saw someone selling glutinous rice cakes, so she bought a few to take back for the children.

When I turned around after buying the cake, I saw a handsome little boy. He seemed to be about the same height as An An, but very thin, and his skin was exceptionally white.

Sheng An Ning couldn't help but take a few more glances. She didn't expect that there was a child whiter than An An. After all, no one cares about sun protection these days. Children run outside every day, and many of them are tanned like little charcoal.

The little boy was holding a candy cake in his hand, standing quietly on the side of the road, eating it in small bites, while turning his head to look in the direction of the crowd, as if he was waiting for someone.

Suddenly, two tall boys rushed out. One of them knocked the candy cake out of the boy's hand, cursing viciously: "You little bastard without a mother, let's see who will help you this time."

The little boy was a little slow to react. He was stunned for a moment before he lowered his head to stare at the candy cake on the ground. His little hands moved, as if he was hesitating whether to pick up the candy cake.

Another boy went over and pushed the little boy, then kicked the glutinous rice cake hard.

He cursed, "You little fool, pick it up and eat it. You fool!"

Sheng An Ning was furious. How could there be such a bad child? It turned out that some bad things are brought from the womb.

Without waiting for the boys to make another move, she reached over and pulled the little boy behind her, glaring at the two boys: "What do you want to do? Who taught you to bully others?"

"Where is your home? Where are your parents? I'm going to go find them and ask your parents to educate you properly."

The two boys didn't expect that an adult would come out to take care of them. They looked at each other, turned around and ran away, not daring to answer Sheng An Ning's words. They only dared to bully weak children. If their parents knew about it, wouldn't they be skinned alive?

Sheng An Ning did not chase after the two children, but turned around and squatted in front of the little boy: "Why are you here alone?"

Wen Zheng looked at Sheng An Ning, then at the flattened cake, and squatted down to pick it up.

Sheng An Ning quickly reached out and held Wen Zheng's thin arm: "This is too dirty to eat. Let's not eat it, okay? Auntie has something good here. I'll get you a good one."

Wen Zheng looked up at Sheng An Ning, his slightly upturned phoenix eyes were clear and confused, and finally he shook his head: "You can't eat other people's things."

This is also a child with good family education.

Sheng An Ning held his little hand: "You can't eat what fell on the ground. It's already covered with dust and very dirty. Where are your parents? Who did you come with?"

Before the little boy could speak, a fat old lady rushed over. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Sheng An Ning, and gasped to apologize to Sheng An Ning: "I'm sorry, did my child bump into you?"

Sheng An Ning turned her head and looked at the kind-looking old lady, then stood up and shook her head: "No, no, it's just that two kids bullied him and knocked his candy cake away."

After saying that, I couldn't help but say one more thing: "Why did you leave the child here alone? It's not safe."

The old man was also helpless and sighed: "I have no choice. This child is timid. He refuses to go when I go to buy something over there. I can only buy him a candy cake and wait here. It has always been like this."

He added, "There are chickens, ducks and fish for sale over there, all of which are killed fresh. This child has had a kind heart since childhood, and cries when he sees these killings. And this child doesn't eat meat."

Sheng An Ning was a little surprised. She didn't see any killing, just like Mo Mo didn't like watching circus performances. But there were people who were born not to like eating meat. She had never seen such a thing before.

“You don’t eat meat?”

"Yes, he is born not to eat meat. He will spit it out when you feed him meat. It's no use trying to give him more food." After the old lady finished speaking, she saw Sheng An Ning still carrying the vegetable basket, and hurriedly said, "Did I waste your time? Thank you, you should get busy."

As she spoke, she held Wen Zheng's hand and said, "We are going home too. Grandma just bought some eggs. I will make some steamed egg custard for you when we get home."

He also told him to say goodbye to Sheng An Ning.

Wen Zheng obediently waved his hand to Sheng An Ning and said goodbye in a low voice.

Sheng An Ning smiled and waved. She watched the grandma and grandson walk away before she hurriedly went to buy fish. When she came out of the small market, she unexpectedly ran into the little boy and his grandmother again.

But there is also Wen Changshan around.

Watching Wen Changshan talking to the boy gently, I realized that there seemed to be a little resemblance between the two of them in their eyes and brows. The handsome little boy was actually Wen Changshan's son.

Wen Changshan also saw Sheng Anning, picked up Wen Zheng, and came over with a smile: "Sister-in-law, you come over to buy things too."

Sheng An Ning smiled and nodded, pointing at Wen Zheng: "Is this your son? He's so handsome. I just ran into him in the market."

Wen Changshan said with some pride: "Yes, this is my son Wen Zheng, and this is my mother. How about my son, isn't he also good-looking? This boy looks more like his mother."

Sheng An Ning nodded repeatedly, and then quickly greeted Wen's mother politely: "Aunt, I didn't know it was you just now, let's go to your house for lunch at noon?"

Wen Changshan shook his head: "No, I have a rare day off today, so I'll take them around. My son is timid, so I'll take him there to practice his courage."

Mother Wen frowned unhappily: "Forget it, Wen Zheng just needs to grow up healthy and free of any disasters. Don't come back with a bloody head like last time."
