Chapter 1051: There will be more children in the family

Sheng An Ning was stunned for a moment, and looked at Wen Zheng as calmly as possible: "Why do you ask this? Didn't grandma go back to the countryside?"

Wen Zheng shook his head: "Grandma will go back to the countryside and come back the same day. Grandma said that she will not leave me alone, unless something happens to Dad and she needs to go out to take care of things."

Sheng An Ning frowned secretly, not understanding why Mother Wen said that?

Wen Zheng sipped the porridge with a small spoon, and then said slowly: "Grandma also told me that if Dad didn't come back and Grandma was gone, she wouldn't let me live with my second uncle and his family. They would bully me and let me go find my aunt."

Sheng Anning was curious: "Where is your aunt?"

Wen Zheng shook his head: "I haven't seen it. Grandma said it before. She often said that her health was not good. If Dad didn't come back, she wouldn't be able to take care of me for a long time."

After saying that, she lowered her head, her long eyelashes covering the loneliness and sadness in her eyes.

Although he is still young, he knows that his existence makes his grandmother suffer, but he is helpless and doesn't know how to grow up quickly.

He also heard his uncle and aunt talk about him, saying that he was a burden.

Sheng An Ning's heart tightened all of a sudden, as if someone had pinched the softest part of her heart fiercely. She was in so much pain that tears were about to come out. She blinked hard and reached out to rub Wen Zheng's head: "No, grandma will definitely accompany you to grow up. We will all grow up with little Wen Zheng."

However, the news of Wen Changshan’s sacrifice could not be hidden from Wen Zheng for long.

Three days later, early in the morning, Zhou Shixun came back with white clothes and asked Sheng Anning to help Wen Zheng change into them, as well as a hat made of a sack and a hemp rope tied around the waist.

Sheng Anning was almost unable to hold back her emotions. She knew that she had to pick up Wen Changshan's body today, so she asked Zhou Hongyun to take the three children to Qian Min's house early in the morning.

Only Wen Zheng was left at home.

The little child seemed to understand everything. He sat quietly on the sofa in the living room, allowing Sheng An Ning to change his clothes. He stretched out his arms and let Sheng An Ning tie the hemp rope around his waist.

At that moment, Sheng An Ning could no longer control her tears, which fell down one by one, landing on the ground, and some tears fell on Wen Zheng's little hand.

Wen Zheng stared at the water splashing on the back of his hand for a long time before he asked in a low voice, "Aunt, is grandma gone? Or did dad have an accident? I know this is called wearing sackcloth and mourning. I've seen it before when grandma took me to a white banquet."

Sheng An Ning couldn't control herself anymore, she stretched out her hands and hugged Wen Zheng tightly in her arms, her voice choked with sobs: "Liang Liang, no matter what happens, aunt and uncle will accompany you to grow up, our home is your home, you can live here forever."

Wen Zheng vaguely understood that a close family member of his had left him.

She pursed her lips and stopped talking.

Let Sheng An Ning hold his hand and go out.

Zhou Shixun also pinned a white flower on Sheng Anning's chest, then patted her on the shoulder: "I need to talk to Changshan's unit about something at the funeral. You should keep an eye on Wen Zheng, and pay more attention to my aunt."

Sheng Anning nodded: "I know, you go and get busy first."

The hearse that brought back Wen Changshan was surrounded by villagers as soon as it entered the town. Many people couldn't control their tears and threw paper money at the hearse.

Sheng An Ning held Wen Zheng's hand and stood on the roadside, waiting for the funeral procession to come and pick them up.

Looking at the situation on the road, tears flowed down my face again.

Wen Zheng raised his little face and watched Sheng An Ning cry quietly. After a while, he asked firmly, "Auntie, it's Dad, it's Dad, right?"

Sheng An Ning swallowed her tears and was about to nod, but Wen Zheng had already struggled to break free from her hand and ran towards the crowd, calling out "Dad" as he ran.

Like crazy, not as quiet as usual.

“Dad, Dad…”

Sheng An Ning quickly chased after him and hugged Wen Zheng tightly: "Liang Liang..."

Wen Zheng was a child after all. He cried and struggled while looking at the crowd. He knew his father was in the crowd. His voice suddenly became hoarse: "Daddy, Daddy...Auntie, I want Daddy."

In the end, it was the people from the funeral committee who came over and helped Sheng An Ning take Wen Zheng to the funeral home.

A memorial service was also held.

The mourning hall was set up a day earlier. A black-and-white photo of Wen Changshan was hung on the middle wall, and Wen Changshan's body was placed in the coffin in the middle of the mourning hall.

Wen Zheng entered the mourning hall and suddenly became quiet when he saw his father lying in the wooden coffin surrounded by flowers. He stared at Wen Changshan who seemed to be sleeping.

The two little fists were clenched tightly.

Sheng An Ning had been holding Wen Zheng, afraid that he would suddenly run away, and also afraid that he would cry and make a fuss, but she never expected that he would be so quiet, silent.

Wen's mother was supported by a couple. Judging from their age and appearance, they should be Wen Changshan's younger brother Wen Changjiang and his sister-in-law Chen Liling.

Mother Wen was also in a very bad mood. She was so sad that she couldn't even shed a tear. If it weren't for the support of her second son and his wife, she would have fainted at any time.

After the memorial service, Sheng Anning and Zhou Shixun took Wen Zheng to the side hall to wait. After cremation, the body would be sent to the Martyrs' Cemetery for burial.

In the side hall, Sheng An Ning could hear Mother Wen suddenly burst into tears. She couldn't accept the fact that Wen Changshan was going to be cremated, so she cried, "My son, you are going to tear out my heart. If you leave like this, how will Liangliang and I live..."

Endless sadness spread over her, causing Sheng An Ning to hug Wen Zheng tightly.

It was already afternoon when they returned from the Martyrs' Cemetery. Sheng Anning knew that the Wen family could not take care of Wen Zheng at the moment, so she took Wen Zheng home, poured water for Wen Zheng to wash his face and hands, and then prepared a meal for Wen Zheng.

Zhou Shixun was still helping at the funeral. Xiao Wenzheng sat quietly on the sofa, staring at the coffee table with empty eyes, tears falling from her eyes from time to time.

Sheng An Ning was cooking in the house, and she would pop her head out from time to time to glance at Wen Zheng. Seeing the child like this, she felt only helpless sadness in her heart.

Zhou Hongyun estimated that it was about time and came back with his three children.

An An walked in and saw Wen Zheng sitting on the sofa. Her eyes curved into small crescents with joy. She smiled sweetly and ran towards Wen Zheng: "Brother Feng Zheng, you are at home, can we play together?"

Wen Zheng turned around and looked at An An quietly, allowing An An to rush over and hug him.

Seeing that the little guy's clothes had been changed and there were still traces of tears on his little face, Zhou Hongyun walked over and pulled An An away with great distress: "An An, let's not make trouble for brother, let him be quiet for a while, okay?"

An An also noticed the tears on Wen Zheng's face. She exclaimed, and looked at Wen Zheng with a puzzled look on her face: "Brother, are you crying? Why are you crying? Did someone bully you? Tell An An, and An An will beat him up. An An will protect brother."
