In the Atlantean family, Black was merely Conrad's unloved grandson.
Therefore, he lived far from the main house; his residence was a villa courtyard not far from the gate.
After parking the car, the butler came over.
He opened the car door and Blake got out first.
Just as the butler was about to say something, he saw that Blake did not move, but continued to wait for the people in the car.
The butler frowned slightly.
Then a distinguished and handsome man stepped out of the car.
Blake said with a smile, "Brother Yin, this is where I live. You should rest for a while, and I'll treat you to a welcome dinner later."
Gong Yixue was eager for this and was worried that she had no opportunity to discuss it.
And just like that, the opportunity came knocking on our door.
Gong Yixue nodded. "Okay, see you later."
Although the butler was very puzzled, he wanted to persuade Blake that the master did not like outsiders coming into the house.
But he also knew that the young master was not someone who would listen to advice, and since the bodyguards at the door had let him through, the master probably already knew, so he decided not to invite trouble.
The butler nodded and led Gong Yixue and his bodyguard to the guest room.
Just as Blake was about to catch up on some sleep, he heard a knock on the door.
His brows furrowed instantly, and he said in a very unpleasant tone, "Who? Don't you know this young master wants to sleep?"
He was busy all night keeping his beloved company, and only got some sleep at dawn.
I went to the casino during the day, and that's when I was really sleepy.
He was very annoyed by being disturbed.
The butler at the door was also helpless and very worried.
As the eldest grandson, the young master should have been the most likely to inherit the Atlantean family business.
But the eldest young master... sigh... I wonder when this eldest young master will grow up.
If the third young master really takes over, will the eldest young master still have a chance to survive?
The butler composed himself and said, "Young Master, the Master wants to see you."
“Grandpa?” Blake frowned.
He can ignore anyone who comes to him.
But Grandpa still had a bit of a problem with him.
...
The main residence of the Atreus family.
"I heard you brought two strangers back."
The elderly man, sitting in the main seat, spoke slowly in a strong, aged voice.
In the empty living room, Blake stood in the middle, looking at the old man above him, feeling somewhat uneasy.
However, thinking that he was still his grandson and that his grandfather wouldn't really do anything to him, he said, "Yes, Grandpa."
Conrad slammed his teacup down on the table, the sound startling Blake.
Conrad gave Blake a cold look and said unhappily, "My words no longer carry weight, do they?"
Blake lowered his head and said, “Of course not, Grandpa. He’s a friend of mine. I saw that he had nowhere to stay, so I brought him back to stay for a few days.”
"Friends?" Conrad countered.
Blake nodded. "Yes, friend..."
"I think they're just a bunch of scoundrels!" Conrad said, clearly displeased.
“Grandpa,” Blake frowned, “you can’t talk about my friend like that. You have no idea how good he is at gambling. I haven’t won a single hand in over a dozen rounds.”
Conrad suddenly stood up. "Why won't you listen to me! Is it so hard to stop you from gambling?!"
Upon realizing he had let something slip, Blake immediately covered his mouth and lowered his head in silence.
But he was not convinced at all.
So what if he gambles? It's just his hobby, why should he give it up?
If you're not indulging in food, drink, and entertainment, are you perhaps so desperate as to compete for the position of heir?
Although it's feasible, he doesn't want to live the rest of his life unlike himself.
Although Conrad disliked Blake's actions, he didn't make a choice, so he naturally wouldn't really do anything to him.
Remembering what Blake had said, Conrad squinted and said, "His gambling skills are impressive? Bring him to meet me."
Unlike Blake, Conrad didn't believe that such a brilliant person would suddenly appear, and coincidentally become friends with his grandson.
He suspected that there was a conspiracy behind all of this.
Blake looked at Conrad warily and said, "Grandpa, what do you want to do? He's my friend, and I won't allow you to hurt him."
Conrad was furious at his good-for-nothing grandson, so he picked up the teacup on the table and threw it at him.
"Shout it! If you say anything more, you're not allowed to come down the mountain for a month!"
Upon hearing this, Blake's face immediately turned sour, and he said, "Grandpa..."
He'll go crazy if he doesn't come down the mountain for a month.
Conrad glared at him and said, "Then you still don't know what to do!"
Blake pursed his lips, pondered for a moment, and then mustered his courage to say to Conrad, "Grandpa, you have to promise me you won't hurt my friends, or else..."
Conrad squinted and asked, "Or what do you want?"
Blake said, "Otherwise I'll run away from home, so you won't have me as your grandson, and outsiders will think you're cold-blooded and heartless, not even sparing your own grandson."
Conrad stared at Blake, his eyes practically blazing with fury.
He just couldn't understand how the Atreus family, known for its cold-bloodedness and ruthlessness, could produce such a treacherous and disloyal wretch.
If it weren't for the paternity test done at birth, he would have suspected that his eldest daughter-in-law was the one who tarnished the reputation of the Atlantean family.
In the past, he certainly wouldn't have been afraid of such a threat.
It's just that he's gotten older, and seems to have lost the fierceness he had when he was young.
Conrad looked at Blake and said, "Get out of here, you'd better go now!"
Blake immediately understood what his grandfather meant, so he wasn't so worried anymore and left with a smile.
Conrad watched Blake's retreating figure and said to the empty space in front of him, "Tell me, am I getting old?"
Otherwise, why would he be so indecisive and troubled by family ties?
A colder voice came from the air, saying, "I'm not old."
Conrad simply smiled and didn't say anything more.
...
At the foot of the mountain, in a guest room of Blake's villa.
Gong Yixue and Ye Mohan first checked every corner of the room before sitting down.
The two did not go into the space, since this was not their territory.
Better safe than sorry.
Gong Yixue said, "I never expected everything to go so smoothly."
Originally, she thought she could use this opportunity to become familiar with Blake and get more information about the Atreus family from him.
Unexpectedly, this guy directly invited him to the Atreus family.
This makes it much easier for them to carry out their tasks.
Ye Mohan nodded in agreement.
He hadn't expected things to go so smoothly.
After thinking for a moment, he said, "Shall we go out for a walk tonight?"
Gong Yixue nodded. "Okay."
Hearing the noise at the door, his gaze deepened as he said, "We might not need to wait until tonight; we'll see him soon."
