Qin Huai said angrily, "Why are you so stupid? If you're worried about your son, why don't you commit suicide? If you die, how will Goudan survive?"
Someone brought another bowl of chicken shit and several women grabbed Sister Hong and forced her to drink it. Only then was Sister Hong released and she suddenly lowered her head and vomited.
"Ahhh..." Sister Hong screamed miserably, vomiting bitter bile. "I don't want to live anymore. Why are you saving me?"

The old woman appeared out of nowhere and angrily pointed at Sister Hong and cursed:
"If you miss, why don't you find a place where no one is around? You just don't want to die, right? You're such an unfaithful woman. You've brought shame upon our Qin family. How will your son live when he grows up?"
Qin Huai pushed her aside and said, "I think you are getting old and confused. What nonsense are you talking about?"
He picked up Sister Hong and said, "Everyone, make way. I'll take her to the hospital in the city."
The old woman said, "Don't save her."
This remark aroused public outrage, and the crowd began to curse the old woman.
A young wife said, "Poor Sister Hong works so hard for the family every day, but the old and young in the family don't take her seriously. If I were to see such a person, she should starve to death."
Qin Huai didn't understand why the villagers were so resentful towards Sister Hong's family. He thought that everyone was taking their anger out on them because they were afraid that Sister Hong couldn't save them.
Qin Huai asked as they walked, "Sister Hong, why are you doing this? You're making money by weaving reed mats day and night, aren't you? Why are you committing suicide just after you get paid?"
Sister Hong smiled miserably. She had no strength left in her body and gave up struggling, saying, "You don't understand..."
Grandma Gui walked over quickly and said, "Qin Huai, you might not know this yet, but Xiao Hong was forced to commit suicide by taking pills because of her son and that vicious old woman."
Qin Huai was shocked. Sister Hong had worked so hard for this family, why would they do this?

Her evil son doesn't speak up for his mother and even says that he saw his mother with another man in the middle of the night."
"Poor Xiaohong was looking for help to fix her leaky house that day, but her son and the old woman said she was not serious. She wanted to die a few days ago."
"She happened to be making reed mats in the village. To earn more money for the family and to prevent that heartless bastard from starving to death, she worked day and night these past few days, running around to earn money for him. Today, she received the money for making reed mats. I guess she thought the child would not starve to death, so she bought medicine. This poor Xiaohong always thinks about the child. I feel so sad."
Someone said, "Look, that kid is behind here too."
Qin Huai turned around and saw Goudan hesitantly following at the back of the crowd.
He was probably scared. Seeing Qin Huai looking at him, he looked at Qin Huai pitifully. Qin Huai hated him so much when he thought of what he had done that he wanted to beat him to death. But when he thought of Sister Hong, he softened his heart and said, "Your mother had better be okay, otherwise I won't forgive you."
Goudan then dared to come over and say, "Uncle Qin Huai, I don't know... I don't want my mother to die..."
Qin Huai kicked him, but Sister Hong yelled from his embrace, "Goudan, Mom is dying. Stay home and listen to Grandma."
Goudan nodded while crying.
Qin Huai angrily opened the car door, put Sister Hong down, and then asked Grandma Gui, "Grandma, if you are free, please come with me to the city. There is no one at Sister Hong's house. Please help take care of her."

From the rearview mirror, I saw Goudan being helped up by the old lady, but he pushed the old lady away and ran after the car.
Sister Hong was very weak, and Grandma Gui said, "Why are you so stupid, child?"
Sister Hong said blankly, "I can't live anymore."
