Chapter 100 New Members

Shaking off her thoughts, Tang Xiaoxiao looked down at Xuanxuan and said, "Come on, Auntie will take you shopping. We'll buy some delicious food and pretty dresses."

Xuanxuan tried her best to control her expression and gave a shy, reserved smile, saying, "Thank you, Auntie!"

She then said, "I don't want little dresses. Mom has so many in the shop, I can't wear them all. Can we buy little dresses for Xiaoxiao and Qiqi?"

Thinking of her two almost superhuman cats at home, Tang Xiaoxiao had a gut feeling that they probably wouldn't like any little dresses.

Most importantly, Qiqi is a boy.

However, she couldn't hurt her little niece's kind heart. She patted Xuanxuan's head and said, "Xiaoxiao is a girl, so she can wear a little dress. Qiqi is a boy, so let's go see if we can buy him any boys' clothes."

That's right, to appease her niece, she decided to go back and persuade the two cats to wear the little clothes for a few days to make the little girl happy. At worst, she'd make them their favorite canned fish for a few meals later.

Tang Xiaoxiao took Xuanxuan to a pet supply store. The store was quite large, and it was filled with all kinds of pet supplies. Xuanxuan ran excitedly towards the rows of little clothes, and Tang Xiaoxiao let her choose while she browsed around at her own pace.

The store also sells pets. Dozens of cages contain cats and dogs of different breeds, as well as other small animals such as guinea pigs, hamsters, and lop-eared rabbits. Tang Xiaoxiao was playing with them with great interest when she walked to a corner and found a pitiful little guy.

It was a little puppy, no more than a few months old, lying flat in the cage with its head resting on its two front paws, its ears drooping listlessly, and its wet eyes half-open. When it heard Tang Xiaoxiao's approaching footsteps, its ears twitched slightly, but it didn't raise its head.

Through the cage, Tang Xiaoxiao could see that one of its hind legs was wrapped in thick gauze and was bent abnormally.

A shop assistant nearby noticed her and came over. Seeing her squatting in front of the puppy's cage, the assistant said with regret, "This little German Shepherd was found on the roadside and brought here. Its hind leg was run over by a car. Fortunately, it survived, but the leg is now useless. Even after it heals, it will affect its mobility."

After saying that, she reached into the cage and affectionately stroked the puppy's head.

Looking into those dark eyes, Tang Xiaoxiao felt a pang of tenderness and asked, "Can I buy it?"

The shop assistant was surprised, seemingly not expecting the customer to want to buy the dog after learning that its leg was destined to be lame. She then smiled and said, "It was given to us by a kind person. We don't sell it. If you're kind-hearted, you can adopt it, but we need to verify if you meet the adoption requirements. You'll also need to leave your contact information and address so we can follow up later. Is that acceptable?"

Tang Xiaoxiao was not surprised by these requirements. Out of responsibility for the pets, some cat and dog rescue centers require follow-up visits to the adopted pets to prevent them from being taken away by some ill-intentioned or irresponsible people and suffering further harm.

Tang Xiaoxiao left her personal information. She is an adult, has her own residence, and has no financial problems, so she fully meets the adoption requirements. The dog no longer needs to have its medication changed. The gauze will be removed in a couple of days, and then she just needs to clean it. Therefore, Tang Xiaoxiao can take the dog away directly after registering.
