When they entered, the twins were obediently flipping through a children's picture book. Han's mother was busy preparing ingredients for dinner in the kitchen. Hearing them enter, she hurriedly came out. The twins immediately dropped their picture books and screamed as they rushed into Tang Xiaoxiao and Han Yunqi's arms.
Tang Xiaoxiao is strong and can lift both babies in one arm. This is the first time she has been separated from her children for so long since they were born. When she was abroad, she didn't feel it much. She video-chatted with them every day and didn't feel that much.
Now, as I held the two little ones in my arms, my nose suddenly stung, and tears streamed down my face uncontrollably.
An'an and Nao Nao also hugged her neck tightly, wiping away her tears with their little hands, and coaxing her in their childish voices, "Mommy, don't cry." Looking at the mother and her two children, Han's parents exchanged a glance and said nothing, not wanting to disturb them. Han Yunqi stretched out his arm and put his arm around Tang Xiaoxiao's shoulder, pulling the two little ones together in front of him. The family of four hugged each other in the middle of the living room, and after a long time of snuggling, Tang Xiaoxiao finally calmed down.
The twins were well cared for by their grandparents. Apart from Guo Mingli's cooking skills being rather lacking, they had no problems adapting. Although the two little ones were born with a silver spoon in their mouths and were spoiled from a young age, Tang Xiaoxiao and Han Yunqi attached great importance to their upbringing and did not let them develop any arrogant or domineering habits. Even though the Han family elders only lived in an ordinary two-bedroom apartment, they did not feel uncomfortable or complain.
Tang Xiaoxiao and Han Yunqi have mentioned many times in the past two years that they want to move Han's parents to a bigger house and hire a nanny, but they both disagree. They are not yet fifty years old and are in good health. Although this house is not big, it is more than enough for the two of them. It is also convenient to clean. The facilities and property management in the community are quite good. There is no need to move to a new house.
Since they insisted on this, Tang Xiaoxiao and Han Yunqi had no choice but to go along with them.
In fact, Tang's parents were the same. The Tang family's small building in Luoxia Town had been there for quite some years, but the old couple were still unwilling to move to a new house or simply move into a villa. They preferred to walk to Hou Tang Village every day to see their grandson and granddaughter, calling it exercise.
People get more stubborn as they get older, and the younger generation can't persuade them otherwise. Fortunately, the elderly couple didn't object when Tang Xiaoxiao reinstalled the heating system and air conditioning in the old house. Although they didn't move to a new house, Tang Xiaoxiao modified and replaced various facilities here and there, which was almost equivalent to a complete renovation, but it was better than nothing.
An'an and Nao Nao eagerly took out the tasks their parents had assigned them before leaving. The twins were so precocious and mischievous that Tang Xiaoxiao had given them a lot of homework so as not to cause their grandparents too much trouble. For example, they had to draw a picture every two days, with any subject matter, recognize at least five Chinese characters every day, and do ten arithmetic problems. It seemed a bit too much for three-year-olds, but it was a piece of cake for An'an and Nao Nao.
They have already memorized the multiplication table and can recite many ancient poems.
They can even speak relatively fluent English. Tang Xiaoxiao started bilingual education for them when they were just learning to speak, consciously getting them used to it. Now, for the twins, English and Chinese are as natural as their mother tongues, and they can speak them effortlessly.
The only thing lacking is vocabulary accumulation.
