The next day, Tang Xiaoxiao slept in bed until after 11 a.m. before finally waking up.
Han Yunqi had already gotten up and prepared breakfast, but Tang Xiaoxiao was still sleeping. Han Yunqi thought she was tired and didn't have the heart to wake her up.
What he didn't know was that Tang Xiaoxiao had been in a deep coma since the early hours of the morning. However, because her complexion was normal and her breathing was even, no one would suspect that she was in a coma; they would only think that she had gone to bed a little late.
I was really tired last night...
Tang Xiaoxiao opened her eyes after regaining consciousness, a dark and ambiguous emotion flashing in them.
She thought the space had evolved into its complete form, but she never expected that after her wedding night last night, the space would evolve once again.
She couldn't easily access the space to check right now, but she had a vague feeling that there was a strange connection between herself and Han Yunqi.
In the past, the two were very close, and could often guess each other's meaning with just a glance or an expression. But that was a tacit understanding that had been cultivated through their mutual affection and long-term interaction. Because they liked and cared about each other so much, they were able to become familiar with each other's various little gestures.
But now, she vaguely sensed that the bond between the two had deepened.
There was no one in the bedroom. Tang Xiaoxiao got up and went out to the living room. Han Yunqi was sitting on the sofa typing something on his laptop on his lap. When he saw her come out, he immediately smiled and said, "Wife, you're awake. Are you hungry? I've warmed up some porridge for you. Wait two minutes and I'll bring it to you."
As he finished speaking, Tang Xiaoxiao heard another mutter: "Old Li is always so long-winded. He can explain things in a few words, but he drags it out for ages, making it impossible for me to have dinner with my wife."
It was clearly Han Yunqi's voice, but the person on the sofa didn't open their mouth.
Tang Xiaoxiao tried her best to hide her shock and sat down next to him as if nothing had happened. Han Yunqi did not avoid her. On the computer screen was a chat box between him and an employee of the company, the same Lao Li whom he had just been complaining about.
Tang Xiaoxiao didn't read the chat content. She chatted with Han Yunqi casually and gradually figured out a general pattern: if Han Yunqi's thoughts were related to her, then she would hear his thoughts.
She won't hear anything if it doesn't concern her.
Tang Xiaoxiao breathed a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, if it were truly like mind-reading, able to hear everything, wouldn't that mean being able to freely pry into other people's privacy? Even if the other person was her bedmate, she would still feel that it was going too far.
Being able to hear information related to her was somewhat acceptable, though still quite unsettling. But she didn't know if this ability was limited to her alone, or if Han Yunqi could also hear her thoughts.
She tried to curse Han Yunqi a few times in her mind.
The other person's expression remained unchanged.
It seems they can't hear it.
So is this yet another new perk the space is giving her? That's really generous of hers!
She even began to wonder if she had some hidden identity, like being God's beloved daughter who had descended to earth to undergo tribulation.
Han Yunqi finished his conversation with Lao Li, and the two had a simple and cozy breakfast... or rather, lunch, as it was already close to noon.
The plain white porridge and boiled eggs were the only two things that Han Yunqi made himself.
The other side dishes, steamed buns, and dumplings were bought by Han Yunqi after queuing for more than an hour at a very famous breakfast shop in D City early in the morning. Although the ingredients were not as fresh as those in Tang Xiaoxiao's space, the chef's skills were first-class, so the taste was still very good.
