Tang Xinxin remained silent for a long time before softly saying, "But what about Xuanxuan...?"
“He Zhan doesn’t have any children. His family is so large that they can’t accommodate a little girl. Even if you have another child in the future, as long as you protect Xuanxuan, she won’t suffer any grievances.” Tang Xiaoxiao said decisively, “Besides, I don’t think you need to worry about Xuanxuan. She shouldn’t be opposed to accepting a new father. She hasn’t enjoyed a single bit of fatherly love all these years. It’s not a bad thing for her to have another person to love her.”
Tang Xiaoxiao had a basis for saying this. In her previous life, Xuanxuan had a very cold relationship with her biological father's side, and they had basically cut off all contact. When she grew up a bit and adults stopped being so careful about what they said to her, Xuanxuan, then a teenager, said more than once that she hoped her mother would find her a new father, and that she wanted her mother to be happy.
Xuanxuan is now ten years old. Children these days are precocious and understand everything they need to understand. Xuanxuan has always been very sensible, and Tang Xiaoxiao felt that persuading her was not a problem at all.
Thinking back to the time when He Zhan insisted on going to school with her to pick up her child, and how Xuanxuan sweetly called him "Uncle He" when she received his gift at the school gate, Tang Xinxin remained silent.
Tang Xiaoxiao stopped trying to persuade her. She had said everything she needed to say. Others couldn't help much with relationship issues; ultimately, it was up to her.
It was getting late, so Tang Xinxin didn't linger and got up to go back to her room.
Just before leaving, Tang Xiaoxiao added one more sentence behind her.
“You are not alone, I am here. Although the He family is powerful, I may not be afraid of them in the future. If you and Xuanxuan are really wronged by the He family, I will not let them get away with it. So you don’t need to think about other things, just make sure you like He Zhan.”
Tang Xinxin stood quietly at the door for a moment without turning around. Tang Xiaoxiao only saw her nod the back of her head, then quietly go out and close the door.
Tang Xiaoxiao lay back with her head tilted back, resting her head on her arms, staring at the ceiling for a while before falling asleep.
The next morning, Tang Xiaoxiao got up feeling refreshed. Xuanxuan had already gone to school early. Tang Xinxin had prepared breakfast. After Tang Xiaoxiao finished washing up, she sat down at the table and looked at her sister's radiant face, and she knew what was going on.
It seems she's thought things through clearly tonight, and this appearance suggests she's taken a step in the right direction.
She chuckled twice, earning a glare from the beauty that was both angry and displeased. Tang Xiaoxiao buried her head in her bowl and slurped down her porridge, no longer making jokes.
After finishing her meal, Tang Xinxin packed up and headed to the shop. Tang Xiaoxiao, too lazy to follow, drove straight home.
She stayed in D City for several days. Although Tang Xiaoxiao had been living away from home at boarding school since she was little, her parents' concern for her never diminished. Upon her return, Tang's mother showered her with concern and care. Finally, Tang Xiaoxiao had to change the subject, pulling out a well-made, loose-fitting suit she had bought for her mother in D City for her to try on, which finally stopped her mother's nagging.
Recently, Tang's mother has become obsessed with square dancing. Every night, she happily goes out to dance with a group of her old friends. This outfit was specially bought by Tang Xiaoxiao for her to wear while dancing.
Tang's mother was indeed very happy with the new clothes. She admired herself in the mirror for a long time and even dragged Tang's father to ask if they looked good.
Tang Xiaoxiao refused to eat the dog food from her parents and got up to go back to her own bedroom.
