Chapter 40 Mr. Jiang is Jealous

My home is in Qinhuai.

Jiang Xiaochen frowned slightly, glancing around at them. Was she interested in this pretty boy? A sense of crisis welled up from the bottom of her heart.

Zhong Yan didn't notice his change, and even if she had, she wouldn't have cared. One was her childhood sweetheart, the first person she saved after being reborn; the other was someone who had bullied her several times and always tried to take advantage of her. It was obvious which one she would side with.

"Qin Huai, is there something you need?"

"I just came to see you." Qin Huai's lips curled slightly, as gentle as a spring breeze: "I heard you were injured. You can call me next time there's something dangerous."

"Knowing it was dangerous, you still let her go," Jiang Xiaochen's face grew increasingly grim. "Is this how you treat her well?"

“You…” Zhong Yan glared at him, looking quite impolite: “Jiang Xiaochen, you’d better get out of here while I’m in a good mood right now.”

"Since you're in a good mood, why should I go out?" Jiang Xiaochen not only didn't appreciate it, but also sat down next to them, looking completely self-righteous, as if he was ready to ruin their date at any moment.

Zhong Yan took a deep breath, afraid that she might accidentally kill him.

Qin Huai observed their interaction and frowned slightly: "Mr. Jiang, it doesn't sound good if word gets out that you're just sitting in a girl's dormitory without saying a word."

Jiang Xiaochen raised an eyebrow, not giving an inch: "Doesn't it sound good? It doesn't sound good here, but it sounds good here?"

Zhong Yan was furious. She put on her shoes and walked out, saying, "Jiang Xiaochen, if you don't leave, I will!"

Jiang Xiaochen moved slightly, then crossed his legs, feigning indifference: "Once you leave this door, our deal is void."

Zhong Yan froze, as if she saw 100,000 yuan floating past her eyes. This was a blatant sugar daddy. If she just let it go like that, she would regret it. She would regret it.

No, it won't work.

When Jiang Xiaochen saw her turn around, a smug glint flashed in his eyes, and he knew she was a miser.

Seeing this, Qin Huai frowned even more, feeling uneasy. He pulled Zhong Yan behind him, adopting a protective stance: "Mr. Jiang, I don't care what kind of deal you have, we can't let Zhong Yan be in danger. Just like you said, cancel it if you want."

Zhong Yan frowned, looking conflicted. She reached out and poked his lower back: "We can't cancel it. He's a nouveau riche. I'm counting on him to make me rich."

Jiang Xiaochen froze.

In her eyes, he was just a nouveau riche? They'd kissed several times, yet he hadn't left any trace on Zhong Yan? She certainly knew how to distinguish right from wrong.

Qin Huai frowned, somewhat displeased: "What nouveau riche? How much money do you want? I'll give it to you. Zhong Yan, we're already close, and besides, you saved my life."

Jiang Xiaochen felt even more distressed. Judging from what this kid said, he hadn't been charged a single penny when he helped him catch the ghost? So why was he being killed so easily when it came to him?

Heartbroken...
