Chapter 111 Baby, Mommy Must Go
"Soft, soft!"
He Yanting patted Jiang Xu's face lightly, but she didn't react at all.
He panicked and quickly grabbed the nurse and asked, "What happened to her? Did she faint?"
The nurse checked her out and said with a smile, "Don't worry, she fell asleep from exhaustion during childbirth. This is normal."
Only then did He Yanting feel relieved.
Doctors and nurses are treating Jiang Xu's wound.
A nurse handed the wrapped baby to He Yanting: "Congratulations, it's a son. He looks a lot like you."
He Yanting withdrew his gaze from Jiang Xu and looked at the child in his arms.
It's wrinkled and very small.
This turned out to be his and Ruanruan's child.
He Yanting had a very dazed and unreal feeling.
In their previous life, the child they didn't have time to be born was now sucking the corner of the quilt in his arms.
His nose suddenly felt sour, his eyes became blurry, and he choked several times before he could stop crying.
"Ruanruan, please wake up and look at our child."
He called softly in his heart.
Jiang Xu slept for a long time. She gave birth in the morning and slept until the next morning before waking up.
When I opened my eyes, before I realized where I was, I heard He Yanting asking the doctor.
"Why isn't she awake yet? Are you sure she's okay?"
As she was speaking, the nurse said, "Hey, she's awake!"
He Yanting immediately turned around, walked to the bedside, and held Jiang Xu's hand: "Ruanruan, how do you feel?"
Jiang Xu opened his mouth and said in a hoarse voice, "Thirsty."
He Yanting picked up the cup next to him and fed her water.
After drinking the water, she looked around. He Yanting said, "Your mother's flight was delayed and she can't come back today. It will take two days for your grandparents to get back."
Jiang Xu was a little disappointed.
He Yanting straightened her hair and said softly, "It's okay, I'm here."
The doctor examined her, confirmed that all indicators were normal, and left.
Jiang Xu was tired of lying down and wanted to sit up. As soon as he moved, the tear was pulled and he gasped in pain.
He Yanting picked her up and looked at Jiang Xu's pale face, which was covered in pain. He choked up and said, "Thank you for your hard work."
Jiang Xu pursed her lips and said, "I have done what I promised you."
"What?"
He Yanting was stunned for a moment before realizing that they were talking about having children.
His face darkened, and he stood up and said, "I'll bring the child over to you to see."
After a while, he came back with the child in his arms.
When Jiang Xu touched the red and soft little baby, her originally calm heart suddenly began to ripple, and a certain part of her heart became unnaturally soft.
He Yanting explained: "The doctor said that all babies are like this when they are born, and they will be fine in a few days."
"Um."
Jiang Xu looked at the child and nodded slightly.
That afternoon, she was transferred to a confinement center in another building.
This is the confinement center that He Yanting had chosen after a long time. It provides all kinds of services and is equipped with dedicated nurses, nutritionists, and even lactation consultants.
At night, the confinement nanny coaxed the baby to sleep and went out. Jiang Xu was about to go to sleep when He Yanting came over and lifted her quilt.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Xu asked warily.
He Yanting shook the ointment in his hand: "I'll apply it to you."
Jiang Xu didn't react for a moment, then he remembered where it was, and his face suddenly felt like it was on fire: "No need, I can do it myself."
He Yanting curled his lips: "Can you do it?"
Jiang Xu nodded. She had to do it no matter what. She might as well dig a hole and jump in if he applied the medicine.
He Yanting handed her the ointment and said, "Apply it now and I'll see if you can do it."
Jiang Xu supported herself with her elbows and tried to sit up, but suddenly her wound was pulled and she trembled in pain.
He Yanting quickly stepped forward and helped her lie down.
"Ruanruan, don't be so arrogant. This is what I should do. You don't have to be embarrassed."
As he said that, he went to the bathroom to wash his hands, came out and lifted the quilt.
Soon, the cool ointment was applied to the wound, causing Jiang Xu to tense up all over and clench her toes.
She covered her face tightly, feeling that this face was no longer necessary.
After applying the medicine, Jiang Xu covered her head with the quilt. She didn't dare to look at He Yanting, nor did she want to talk. She just wanted to hide in her own shell and escape reality.
He Yanting's sneer came from the side.
His voice was very close, and he was smiling: "Why are you shy? It's like we haven't done it before."
Jiang Xu was buried in the quilt, her face flushed red.
"Get out of here." she cursed.
He Yanting laughed a few more times, pulled the quilt open a little, and kissed her forehead.
"I'm right here, call me if you need anything."
After saying that, he dimmed the lights and lay down on the single bed next to him.
The next day, Xia Yulin rushed back.
I was especially happy to see my grandson.
Half a month later, Mr. He and Mrs. He also came back. They both rushed to hold their great-grandson and were reluctant to let go.
Mrs. He asked, "What's the child's name?"
He Yanting's expression changed.
He and Jiang Xu had a small dispute about the child's name.
He wanted Jiang Xu to get up because she had worked hard to give birth to the child, but Jiang Xu looked uninterested, which made He Yanting helpless.
Jiang Xu said, "I haven't gotten up yet. I want grandpa and grandma to help me get up."
Mrs. He said to the old man, "You have read a lot, so you should get up."
Mr. He pondered for a moment and looked out the window: "This child was born in the early morning, when the first rays of morning light descended upon the world. Let's call him Linxi."
"He Linxi, what a nice name!"
Old Mrs. He clapped her hands happily and said to the baby, "My dear great-grandson, you have a name now!"
Although the old couple liked their great-grandson, they were afraid of disturbing Jiang Xu's rest, so they only came every few days.
They also wanted to give Jiang Xu many valuable gifts, even a villa, but Jiang Xu politely declined.
When she was about to leave the confinement room, Chi Xiaoli came to see her.
By then, Jiang Xu's body had recovered a lot and he could walk again.
Chi Xiaoli looked at her and said in surprise, "Xubao, you've recovered so well. You look so radiant. Also, how did your belly heal so quickly? At first glance, it looks like you never gave birth."
Jiang Xu smiled and said, "Just listen to the advice of doctors and professionals."
Chi Xiaoli nodded heavily: "I remember it."
She said to Gu Xiao, "I want to book a confinement center here too."
Gu Xiao stared at the cool and handsome face, his eyes full of tenderness, and nodded: "Okay."
The day before leaving confinement.
Jiang Xu received a call from Qin Zifei.
"Everything is arranged. Now it all depends on whether you can escape smoothly."
He hesitated for a moment and asked, "Can you really bear to give up the child? He Yanting did everything he could to make you give birth to the child, just to tie you down with the child."
Jiang Xu glanced at the child in the crib not far away and nodded: "I can."
"Okay, then I'll wait for your news."
Qin Zifei hung up the phone.
At this moment, the baby suddenly started crying.
He stretched out his little hands and cried aggrievedly, as if seeking comfort.
Jiang Xu subconsciously wanted to go over and hug him.
But soon, he stopped.
She couldn't hug him. Every time she hugged him, her emotional bond with the child would grow stronger. The reluctance in her heart would turn into a chain that would trap her in a cage.
She stood by the window, watching the child cry quietly.
Until the confinement nanny rushed in, and when she saw Jiang Xu, she was surprised and said, "Madam, you are here."
Jiang Xu said nothing and turned his back to her.
The confinement nanny sighed and walked out with the child in her arms.
While Jiang Xu was taking a nap, she could faintly hear the confinement nanny and the babysitter chatting next door.
"How could this lady be so cruel? The child was crying like that, but she didn't even hold him. I've never seen a mother like this before."
"That's right, you don't know, she never cooks at home, it's always Mr. He who cooks."
"Tsk tsk, she's so spoiled, not virtuous at all."
…
Jiang Xu turned over and looked out the floor-to-ceiling window. The vast sky was faintly visible through the gauze curtains.
She slowly closed her eyes.
Baby, I'm sorry, mommy has to go.
