Chapter 18 You Are Mine
Jiang Xu put down the bowl and pushed the half-empty lunch box out: "Grandma, I don't want to eat anymore. You eat it."
He Yanting frowned and held her hand: "I made it especially for you."
Jiang Xu pulled his hand back without leaving a trace: "I'm full."
She stood up and went back upstairs.
He Yanting followed her with his eyes and was about to stand up when his cell phone rang.
"Boss He, is Madam Ling satisfied with the porridge?"
He is the owner of a private restaurant.
He Yanting said "hmm" lightly.
The restaurant owner said, "That's good. It's worth your time working on her personally for most of the night. The chef is out of town this time, so we're doing online tutoring. Some details may be a little off. I'll let you know when he comes back, and you can learn it all over again."
He Yanting nodded: "Okay."
Back in the bedroom, Jiang Xu began to fill out the form for scheduling surgery.
Just when I had filled one-third of it, I heard footsteps behind me.
She quickly turned off the screen, and the next second, she was embraced by a big hug.
"Just now I saw you walking up the stairs with great vigor. Are you feeling better?"
He Yanting's warm breath fell on my ears
Jiang Xu's ears itched, and he tilted his neck awkwardly: "What are you talking about?"
He Yanting's lips brushed her cheek gently: "Do you want to continue what you didn't finish last night?"
"don't want."
Jiang Xu refused outright and struggled for a while.
He Yanting didn't let go, and rubbed his chin against her neck: "Grandma has always wanted to hold a grandson."
Jiang Xu said unhappily, "Then go find another woman to give birth to your child."
He Yanting's face froze. He pinched her chin and made her meet his gaze.
"Can you say that again?"
His eyes, as dark as a deep pool, were filled with a hint of coldness.
Jiang Xu looked straight at him and repeated word by word: "I said, if you want a child, find another woman to have it with."
He Yanting pursed his thin lips.
Jiang Xu clenched his hands, ready for a fight.
He Yanting's Adam's apple rolled, and he said calmly, "If you don't want to have a baby, no one will force you. Why say such angry words?"
"I……"
Jiang Xu wanted to say that this was not just an angry remark, but a sincere blessing.
"Okay, let's not talk about this anymore. Grandpa and grandma have something to tell you. Come with me."
He Yanting interrupted her and took her to the study without saying anything.
In the study, Mr. He was sitting at the desk, and the old lady was standing on the windowsill next to him, fiddling with flowers and plants.
"Grandpa and grandma, do you need me for something?"
Jiang Xu asked respectfully.
Old Mr. He has never been involved in trivial matters at home. He only plays a stylistic role here, and it is Old Mrs. He who speaks.
"Ruanruan, you and Yanting have been engaged for almost two years. Grandma knows what you're thinking. We've already picked a date and will hold the wedding next month."
Jiang Xu was struck by lightning.
How could it be so fast?
In her previous life, she shamelessly begged her mother to urge the He family to hold the wedding.
This time she said nothing.
Behind her, He Yanting's gloomy eyes wandered around her face.
Jiang Xu hesitated and said, "Grandma, isn't this a bit too sudden?"
The old lady waved her hand: "It's not sudden. We've been engaged for two years. If it weren't for the busy banquet, we would have gotten married a long time ago."
"But my mother doesn't know yet. Let's wait until she returns home."
Jiang Xu hurriedly thought of a countermeasure.
Mrs. He smiled and said, "I've thought about this a long time ago. I just spoke to her on the phone this morning, and she said it's fine as long as you have no objection."
Jiang Xu: “…”
The road is blocked, what should she do?
She would never get married. The painful experiences in her past life made her shiver every time she thought about them.
"Grandma, I can't get married."
Taking a deep breath, she said solemnly.
Mrs. He was puzzled: "Why? Your mother said you would be happy."
Jiang Xu finally came up with a reason: "Because I want to continue my studies and get married after I finish my postgraduate entrance exams."
Mrs. He said, "That's it. We are not old-fashioned. You can still continue your studies after getting married. Moreover, with the connections of the He family, you can choose a better school."
Jiang Xu was really speechless.
It seems like all possible ways of saying no are useless.
She was like a drowning person, with water pouring in from all directions. She was at a loss and didn't know what to do.
Old Madam He looked at her and He Yanting and said, "If you have no objection, then prepare the invitations."
Jiang Xu was about to speak when He Yanting stepped forward and hugged her in his arms.
"No problem, it's all up to you."
After the two left, Mr. He asked, "Why are you in such a hurry? You can't even prepare properly for your wedding next month."
Mrs. He said, "Yan Ting brought up the company shares to me again a few days ago, and I asked him to marry me. In the past, he either refused or kept silent, but this time he agreed straight away. I have to seize this opportunity, lest he regret it."
"Ruanruan is my granddaughter-in-law, I'm determined to marry her."
The old lady smiled with her eyes curved.
Old Master He seemed to be thinking of something, his eyes flickering: "Do you think Yan Ting knows about Yu Lin's visit to his mother? If he knew, what would happen to his relationship with Jiang Xu..."
"Shh-"
Old Madam He's expression changed, and she raised her finger. "That matter should be kept to herself, and no one should mention it. It's over long ago."
Old Master He sighed, "But I'm worried that there's no such thing as an impenetrable wall. Yanting's mother's death is indeed inextricably linked to Yulin. I'm afraid the two children will find it difficult to accept it when the time comes."
Old Madam He looked out the window and smiled, "When they get married and have children, and become a real family, then even the biggest hatred can be resolved."
Mr. He said, "I hope so."
Jiang Xu went upstairs, and He Yanting asked her, "When did you decide to take the postgraduate entrance exam?"
Jiang Xu said calmly, "Not long ago."
He Yanting asked, "Where do you want to apply to? University A?"
Jiang Xu shook her head in her heart. She wanted to take the exam far away, preferably not in the country.
On the surface, she said calmly, "I'm not sure. Let's see how well I can get in."
He Yanting grabbed her arm and narrowed his eyes: "No matter what, you are not allowed to leave Jing City."
Jiang Xu shook him off, went back to the bedroom and started packing her things.
"You're leaving?"
He Yanting leaned against the door and looked at her.
"Well, I told you I'm going to take the postgraduate entrance exam, so I'll go home and study hard."
Jiang Xu bent down to fold the clothes.
He Yanting looked at her busy back and suddenly felt that she became very distant.
He didn't like this feeling very much. He frowned, walked over, put his hand on her shoulders, and lowered his head to kiss her.
To be precise, he bit her lips.
Jiang Xu felt pain and dodged him, angrily saying, "What are you doing!"
He Yanting lowered his eyes, looked deeply into hers, and a magnetic voice came out of his throat:
"You can do anything, but no matter what you do, you are not allowed to leave me."
Jiang Xu's eyes turned red and she cursed, "You're crazy."
He Yanting didn't get angry but smiled instead, raised the corners of his mouth slightly, lifted her chin, and his warm breath was strong.
"Ruanruan, you are mine, remember."
After saying that, he ignored her struggle and domineeringly used a kiss to take up all her breath.
