Tang Chao arrived just in time with his men.
Hearing the commotion, he asked what was going on.
"What's going on here?"
Tang Chao had barely finished speaking when he saw Jiang Yue.
"Sister-in-law, what are you doing here?"
Jiang Yue looked at Tang Chao with a smile.
"I bought this house, and this family came and started vandalizing it. My friend only intervened to protect us..."
Tang Chao never expected that the house was actually bought by Jiang Yue.
He immediately looked at the family.
When the old lady heard Tang Chao call her "sister-in-law," she had a bad feeling.
This policeman knows that woman; are they in cahoots?
"Police officers, they beat people up, you must stand up for us..." The old woman sat on the ground, slapping her thigh and crying loudly.
The men who had been beaten started crying and howling, no longer as arrogant and domineering as before.
Jiang Yue handed the property certificate she had just received to Tang Chao.
“Although I don’t know what’s going on with this family, the house is mine now. These people smashed so many windows and broke the door. The damage alone is worth tens of dollars. Make them apologize, pay compensation, and never come to this house again…”
Upon hearing Jiang Yue say that the house belonged to her, the old lady immediately stood up and began to curse.
"This house belongs to my grandson. That old hag dared to sell it! She's trying to make my grandson homeless..."
Tang Chao said in a somewhat stern voice.
"Whoever's name is on the property deed owns it. You can't change the facts by throwing a tantrum. Come on, take all these people back."
The old lady never expected that the police would actually take them back.
She immediately started making a scene again.
Tang Chao had someone show the handcuffs, which startled the old lady, and she finally quieted down.
The wives all ran away, and the men were too scared to utter a sound, following the police officers toward the police station.
Once at the police station, Tang Chao explained the family's situation.
It turns out that Old Mrs. Zhang's family used to be "red capitalists." Her son was framed and married a woman who, a few years ago, reported the Zhang family to the authorities. As a result, the Zhang family was sent to a remote area for "re-education." The daughter-in-law also remarried.
Because of her poor health, Old Mrs. Zhang stayed behind; the house had been confiscated before. Later, Old Mrs. Zhang produced a stack of IOUs, and the authorities gave instructions to return the house and some other items to her.
But the in-laws had their eyes on the house.
I want to take this opportunity to get my hands on the house.
They wanted to drive Old Mrs. Zhang crazy, but all she wanted was for her son to come back. She tried her best to tolerate all the trouble her in-laws were causing.
But over the past year, her health has deteriorated. She fears she won't live to see her son return, so she plans to sell the house, save the money, and secretly buy another house. She entrusts all these things to a trustworthy person so that her son will have a place to stay when he comes back.
The old lady only found out a few years ago that her grandson wasn't her son's child...
That time, she was almost driven to her death by anger, but she survived because she met a skilled doctor and had the belief that her son would come back.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yue felt even more disgusted with the Xie family.
This family is really cunning; their methods are far too ruthless.
“During the Tang Dynasty, they damaged my property. I demanded compensation from them and also wanted to hold them accountable.”
