Grandpa Li quickly stopped him.
"Uncle Li, I'll pay for this. You can keep your money for your wife's medical treatment."
Grandpa Li was extremely grateful upon hearing Jiang Yue's words.
"Thank you, Comrade Jiang Yue."
The staff member handed the property certificate to Jiang Yue.
"Thanks."
Jiang Yue smiled and thanked her.
Grandpa Li expressed his gratitude repeatedly.
"Thank you, Comrade Qian."
After leaving the housing management bureau, Grandpa Li looked at Jiang Yue and said...
"Comrade Jiang, I'll go back and give you all the keys right away. If you want to change the locks, go to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy new locks. We'll move out today."
“Uncle Li, no rush. My family won’t be here for several more days. You and Auntie can stay here for now.”
"No, we're moving out today."
No matter what Jiang Yue said, Grandpa Li didn't change his mind.
Jiang Yue didn't try to persuade her any further.
Looking at the time, it was still a while before four o'clock, so Jiang Yue decided to go to the recycling station to pick out more books.
I just bought a house, so I moved the books to this storage room.
Jiang Yue returned to the recycling station. When the old man saw her, he smiled and asked her.
"Young man, have you bought the house?"
Jiang Yue nodded.
"You won't lose out by buying this house."
Jiang Yue selected a lot of books, but she dared not put those books that people of this era would find problematic on the surface. She tied them up with rope, and those that could not be openly displayed were tied in the middle.
Jiang Yue picked out dozens of books.
Jiang Yue's gaze fell upon the cabinets not far away. These cabinets were all valuable items. Jiang Yue wanted to buy a few more cabinets; these things could be passed down through generations.
"Sir, how much is this cabinet?"
Upon hearing Jiang Yue's words, the old man said.
"Your twenty yuan."
"If I buy more, can you give me a discount?"
The old man smiled and said when he heard Jiang Yue bargaining.
"This price is very cheap. If it were new, it would cost several tens of yuan. But after you buy it, I can have someone deliver it to you for free."
Hearing that the delivery was free, Jiang Yue was overjoyed. This was wonderful!
"Sir, I'll pick a few more, and you can have someone deliver them to Grandpa Li's yard for me."
"Okay, okay."
Hearing the old man agree, Jiang Yue began to select cabinets.
Looking at these exquisitely crafted cabinets made of the finest materials, Jiang Yue was overjoyed.
Suddenly, Jiang Yue noticed that one of the drawers in the cabinet was very large. After observing it carefully, she realized that there was something special about this drawer.
Remembering what her grandmother had said, Jiang Yue decided to buy the things.
Not only this cabinet, but Jiang Yue also discovered several other cabinets, each seemingly containing some kind of mystery.
Jiang Yue bought six large cabinets.
Although it's said to have six cabinets, each cabinet is actually made up of several pieces.
"These books are free for you."
The old man said with a smile.
Jiang Yue paid one hundred yuan.
The old man wrote out a list, detailing the contents of the cabinet, but only listing the weight of the books.
"I'll have someone send it over in a bit."
"Thank you, sir."
Jiang Yue returned to Grandpa Li's courtyard, put all the books into the empty room, and told him about how the old man wanted someone to send over cabinets, tables, and chairs.
"Don't worry, Comrade Jiang, I, Uncle Li, will definitely keep a close eye on things for you. Once everything is packed up, come find me to get the key." As he spoke, Uncle Li handed Jiang Yue another box.
"Here's another set of keys; keep it for now. There are also some small items in the box, which I'll give you."
