Peng Miaomiao's face began to flush.
It wasn't because Wu Changfeng was walking towards her.
What impressed Peng Miaomiao most was the stack of gleaming banknotes in his hand.
Have my efforts finally paid off?
Wu Changfeng exclaimed, "Where's Teacher Ji?"
Peng Miaomiao quickly replied, "It seems like I need to see Director Zhou about something."
Wu Changfeng didn't pay much attention; perhaps Teacher Ji wanted to say goodbye to Lao Zhou after completing the task.
I didn't think much of it.
Over the past few days, I've also heard Lao Zhou mention that Teacher Ji seems to be acting strangely.
Wu Changfeng thought: Perhaps he really is worried about Peng Miaomiao's teaching ability and is here to oversee things.
In fact, Wu Changfeng had misunderstood all of this.
Teacher Ji really did have ulterior motives; he wanted to persuade Old Zhou.
Wu Changfeng said to Peng Miaomiao, "You've worked hard these past few days. Here's your appearance fee. Take it."
Peng Miaomiao hesitated for a moment, then said, "This isn't right, it's all for the country."
"Oh, that's really not good."
Wu Changfeng pretended to put the money in his pocket and said smugly, "Indeed, how can we let money corrupt the pillars of the country? That's too vulgar. Never mind."
"I cannot taint the noble sentiments of our students."
"I was being superficial."
Peng Miaomiao stared wide-eyed, her expression one of disbelief.
How can a person be so shameless!
This is my money!
Peng Miaomiao snatched it away: "Take it! Corrode me as much as you want, it's okay, I have willpower! I'm resistant to corrosion."
Wu Changfeng laughed heartily: "Alright, I was just kidding. Take it. Don't spend it recklessly; it's enough for your postgraduate entrance exam expenses."
Peng Miaomiao nodded approvingly: "Thank you, boss, for finding me work. Don't forget me if there are any more good opportunities like this in the future."
Wu Changfeng said earnestly, "You should study welding in depth from now on and strive to align yourself with the national standards as soon as possible."
"To prepare for the country's future needs."
"That will be when you are most valuable."
"This little bit of money isn't enough to hire you."
Peng Miaomiao tilted her head: "How come such high-sounding words sound a bit ridiculous coming from your mouth?"
“Ah…” Wu Changfeng said, “Maybe it’s because I’m a businessman. If I were a leader, I would say something different.”
The two chatted for a while longer.
The sounds of workers gradually filled the air.
A group of workers started spraying banana oil onto the workpiece.
Wrinkles began to appear on the painted surface.
It will take some time before the paint chips can be easily cleaned off.
Not long after.
Teacher Ji walked back with a smile.
He greeted Peng Miaomiao and Wu Changfeng.
There was nothing for either of them to say, so Wu Changfeng drove them to the train station.
Before parting, Teacher Ji said to Wu Changfeng, "Old Zhou is a good man."
Wu Changfeng was taken aback.
Why are you praising someone out of the blue? Is there something going on?
Wu Changfeng was puzzled.
But he didn't ask any further questions, only saying, "Indeed, he has a very good character."
Teacher Ji nodded several times and then took Peng Miaomiao by train to leave Jiangcheng.
Peng Miaomiao opened the window, waved, and called out, "I'll treat you to dinner when we get back to Beijing."
Wu Changfeng nodded with a smile.
After leaving the station.
Wu Changfeng sat in the car, thinking about Teacher Ji's last words.
Something felt off.
They drove back to Lao Zhou's processing plant.
At this moment, Lao Zhou was in his office organizing the photos that had just been processed at a faster pace.
As for the steel rolling equipment, it's practically a done deal.
All that's left is to repaint it.
The rest is all about high-profile publicity.
A little publicity from local and provincial media would suffice.
Let's amplify the idea that private enterprises can also accomplish great things.
The processing plant will inevitably receive a large number of orders in the future.
Then there's no need to worry about making a living.
It's almost like making money while lying down.
Old Zhou looked at the photos on the table with a happy smile.
There is a photo of him with Minister Xu of the Equipment Division.
There is also a group photo of him accompanying the top leaders of Jiyang Province.
In addition, there was a group photo of island nation technicians shaking hands.
Add photos of the factory equipment and workers.
Everything's ready!
After entering the office, Wu Changfeng looked at Lao Zhou's smiling face and said:
What are you doing?
Old Zhou laughed heartily: "Prepare some materials and send them to the newspaper office. Spend some money on publicity."
"That's unnecessary," Wu Changfeng said. "The Equipment Division and the top leaders are always surrounded by reporters; aren't they much more professional than you?"
“That’s different,” Old Zhou said seriously. “Their reports are all factual, mine are exaggerated.”
"The higher-ups also need to emphasize the factory's name and leave its phone number."
"Their reporters certainly won't get my phone number."
Wu Changfeng shrugged. "That's true."
Old Zhou is incredibly shrewd.
Old Zhou examined the photo for a while and asked, "Teacher Ji and Peng Miaomiao are gone?"
"Yes, I just put him on the train."
"I am truly grateful to these two teachers. They not only helped me solve the problem, but also trained five excellent students."
Old Zhou continued gratefully, "Now I'm not afraid of the workers quitting anymore. If one leaves, there are still four left."
Wu Changfeng nodded: "The more cards you have in your hand, the better."
"I have to thank you for this too. I've really met a benefactor." Old Zhou chuckled.
"We're all from the same county, this is just a small favor, not even worth mentioning as helping."
"Other things," Old Zhou said earnestly, "you've helped me so much, I'll treat you to a big meal tonight."
