Chapter 296 I, Liu Lan, need to send money.

"Hey, wait a minute!"

Zhou Qianqian grabbed a girl and asked, "Do you know where the Jiangcheng Research Institute is?"

"Yes, I know, I go there often."

"That's great! Could you tell me how to get there?"

"I'll take you there; I love afternoon desserts."

"Thank you so much!"

Zhou Qianqian followed the girl along the tree-lined path.

"Excuse me, aren't you a student from Tsinghua University?"

"My name is Zhou Qianqian, and I'm an exchange student from Southwest University. What about you?"

"My name is Liu Lan."

Liu Lan continued, "How did you know there's a Jiangcheng Research Institute at Tsinghua University? Is Milk Tea that famous?"

Liu Lan thought Zhou Qianqian was after the milk tea.

Although the milk tea at the research institute is quite good.

But not many people actively go to drink it.

One reason is that it's a bit far from the dormitories and teaching buildings.

Walking there is almost the same as exercising.

Secondly, Tsinghua University students are shy and don't have a good reputation for freeloading.

It would be good if they could come three or four times a month.

There was only one person with thick skin, and that was a guy from the architecture department named Ba Ziyang.

I run into him every time I go there.

I see it more than twenty times a month!

Zhou Qianqian replied, "I'm not going there to drink milk tea."

"Oh?" Liu Lan glanced at Zhou Qianqian, which seemed a bit strange.

What else could someone from another school be doing if they're not going for bubble tea?

"And who are you?"

Zhou Qianqian said calmly, "Didn't the research institute release a project? I'd like to participate."

Liu Lan was taken aback: "You're in the architecture department?"

"Yes, the Department of Architecture at Southwest University."

There aren't many girls in this department.

"It's alright, girls are no worse than boys."

Liu Lan nodded: "Yes, that's right. I have a roommate who majors in welding. She's really good at it. Bosses from other places would pick her up in their Mercedes-Benzes to go to the factory to give her technical guidance."

“That’s really enviable,” Zhou Qianqian said.

"Everyone has their own expertise; you can't just envy that," Liu Lan said with a smile.

It took more than ten minutes to walk.

After taking a shortcut for another five minutes, we finally arrived at Jiangcheng Research Institute.

"This is it," Liu Lan said.

"Thank you, thank you." After Zhou Qianqian and Liu Lan entered, they saw several students drinking milk tea in the living room and discussing philosophical questions, which they couldn't understand.

Someone was even fiddling with a circle, and air was actually blowing out of it!

What is this thing?

That's so strange!

Liu Lan explained, "This is a bladeless fan; the students tinker with it when they have nothing to do."

On the other side, some classmates were constantly making notes in their books. Zhou Qianqian looked at them and became even more confused. Formulas were spread all over the table.

Zhou Qianqian felt dizzy looking at it.

Liu Lan said, "They are doing preliminary theoretical work on batteries."

Zhou Qianqian responded with an "oh".

After touring the place, Zhou Qianqian found that this so-called research institute was more like an exchange center.

There aren't many proper experimental devices.

This is supposed to be a research institute? It's so different from what I imagined.

Liu Lan noticed her confusion and said, "Actually, this place is only for students. The larger research institute is not here; it is still under preparation."

"How should I put it? It's more like an early contact center, to see what the students have in mind, what they want to do, and then to make an assessment."

"If the boss thinks it's acceptable, he'll pay for them to research it."

"When we need to use the equipment, we have to go to other places."

Zhou Qianqian understood: "Front-end."

“Very good words,” Liu Lan replied with a smile.

Zhou Qianqian slapped her forehead. "I came here on important business!"

He asked, "Um...who should I ask about my matter?"

"What do you think?" Liu Lan spread her arms.

Zhou Qianqian opened her mouth wide: "You—"

Liu Lan smiled and said, "That's right. Let me introduce myself. I am Liu Lan, the deputy director of Jiangcheng Research Institute. The director is Huo Jiaqi, who is away on a business trip."

Liu Lan has been hired by Qimingxing.

When Huo Jiaqi is absent, he will act in Huo Jiaqi's place.

Of course, this is just a record of students' needs and the institute's requirements.

Important decisions still require Huo Jiaqi to make the final decision.

Huo Jiaqi has a mission: to recruit electronic semiconductor talent for Wu Changfeng.

He tried to win over graduates at Tsinghua University, but the results were not very good.

Almost all of these graduating students chose to work for state-owned enterprises.

They looked down on Wu Changfeng's small business.

Only one graduate, Jiang Yuanhang, was recruited, whose academic performance was acceptable.

Huo Jiaqi admitted that he was provided with housing and that his benefits were definitely higher than the industry average.

It took a lot of persuasion and coaxing to get them to sign a letter of intent.

The letter of intent is unstable; Jiang Yuanhang can back out at any time.

Huo Jiaqi had to travel to other places and other universities to recruit talent.

After he left, the research institute was left without a manager.

Wu Changfeng originally wanted Yu Qingmu to take over the management.

Anyway, there wasn't much else to do, but Huo Jiaqi recommended Liu Lan.

Liu Lan is also a business management major, but she is not in the same class as Yu Qingmu, and they are in different grades.

She was Yu Qingmu's junior.

Wu Changfeng had a vague feeling that Huo Jiaqi had taken a liking to Liu Lan.

He had seen Liu Lan and Huo Jiaqi arguing several times at the research institute.

It sounds like a young couple being all lovey-dovey.

Wu Changfeng agreed immediately, showing Huo Jiaqi some respect.

We can't just demolish someone else's house, can we?

Thus, Liu Lan took office.

Zhou Qianqian's eyes widened: "Oh my, what a coincidence! Why didn't you say so?"

Liu Lan smiled: "Shouldn't I at least treat you to a cup of milk tea?"
