Brother Liu's unusual behavior alerted Liu Tiao.
Willow Twig demanded, "What exactly do you want?"
Brother Liu spread his hands innocently: "Sister, I firmly believe that you were hurt by rumors and gossip, so why are you questioning my stance?"
The two engaged in a back-and-forth exchange, probing each other's intentions.
Wu Changfeng had no choice but to interrupt and say, "The car is indeed blocking the road."
"It's alright to move it a bit, but that's not the point. The point is that we need to have a proper talk."
Brother Liu gave a thumbs up: "See, the boss is sensible, talking while we eat."
Then.
Wu Changfeng followed his younger brother and parked the car at a sand quarry not far from the village.
The sand quarry is still in a semi-shutdown state, with several sand piles lying on the riverbank.
Lei Laowan, the guard of the battlefield, had a fierce face and a toothpick in his mouth. He cursed and said, "Hey kid Liu, what the hell are you doing bringing this whole car over here?"
Brother Liu hurriedly ran over, muttering, "Guests who came to our house, let them stay for a day."
"What do you mean?" Lei Laowan glanced at Wu Changfeng in the distance, then asked in a low voice, "You're not exactly a warm-hearted guy."
Brother Liu laughed and said, "Do you know what kind of car that is? Damn, a Mercedes-Benz! It costs millions!"
Do you understand?
Lei Laowan immediately realized what was going on and said with a smile, "Alright, you'll get your share."
"Don't be soft-hearted!" Brother Liu said fiercely.
"Damn it, I'm not even polite to my own father. If an outsider can't cause trouble, I'll skin him alive, or I'll change my surname to yours!"
Brother Liu gave a thumbs up: "Whether I get fat or not depends on you."
"Don't worry." Lei Laowan slurped his saliva.
Brother Liu nodded and ran back.
He glanced at the car window and said, "Boss, just leave it here. I've already told them not to touch it."
Wu Changfeng chuckled and nodded.
The two walked home.
On his way back, Brother Liu slapped his forehead and said, "Oh dear, I'm going to buy some wine and meat. I can't be lazy."
Wu Changfeng watched him disappear in a flash.
He crossed his arms, looked in the direction of the battlefield, and then in the direction of Brother Liu.
He laughed and said, "Oh dear, so you're playing tricks now?"
"What was originally an unsolvable situation was turned around by you, Brother Liu. You are truly a benefactor!"
Wu Changfeng returned to the Liu family.
There's nothing to say.
The whole family opposed Liu Tiao leaving home and insisted on marrying her off.
They even threatened Wu Changfeng to mind his own business, or they would arrest him and report him to the authorities.
Willow branches are also difficult to distinguish.
Rumors and gossip can be incredibly damaging.
Even Wu Changfeng's image was portrayed as that of a corrupt official.
Brother Liu didn't return until evening.
As expected!
Wu Changfeng patted his clothes and stood up: "There's nothing to talk about, so I'm leaving."
Willow branches wept as they saw him off.
At the door.
Wu Changfeng said, "Don't cry. I'll take you away within three days and let you continue to make waves in the business world."
Willow twigs: ? ? ?
"You're not going to frame my whole family and arrest them, are you?" Willow's eyes widened.
My heart skipped a beat.
That won't do!
I remember vividly how your tractor factory treated people.
You're really good at creating something out of nothing.
But you can't do that to my family!
Wu Changfeng was both amused and exasperated: "Am I really that much of a rogue? But... your brother might be in for a bit of trouble."
"Don't worry, it's nothing serious."
"They're gone."
Wu Changfeng waved his hand and left gracefully.
Liu Tiao, watching Wu Changfeng's retreating figure, called out, "Do you know how to get around the battlefield?"
"certainly!"
We arrived at the battlefield.
Wu Changfeng had just started the Mercedes-Benz.
Lei Laowan walked out of the house, waved his hand, and several of his underlings ran to the front door.
The gate to the battlefield was slammed shut with iron chains.
Lei Laowan, with a toothpick in his mouth, tapped the car window: "Dude, you're leaving already?"
"Aren't you going to stay until the New Year?" Wu Changfeng asked, puffing out a cigarette.
Lei Laowan chuckled.
That's quite a sharp tongue of yours!
Damn it, serves you right for pretending!
Lei Laowan said, "Dude, you don't know the rules."
Wu Changfeng leaned against the window: "What are the rules? That kid Liu didn't tell me about them back then."
“He didn’t say it had nothing to do with me.” Lei Laowan leaned against the car: “Let me put it this way, that kid Liu owes me 300,000 yuan.”
"He told me that the car was mortgaged here."
"Is it fair that you're leaving now without any reason?"
Wu Changfeng scoffed.
I knew all along that kid Liu had bad intentions.
As expected, this scene was staged.
Wu Changfeng feigned fear and said, "What does this have to do with me? I don't know him!"
"It was Liu who told me that since you're friends, it's okay to park temporarily."
Lei Laowan patted the car window: "How can you be so naive?"
Do you believe everything others say?
"I don't care what's going on between you two, but you can't drive this car away, you have to give me money!"
Wu Changfeng shouted, "Why?!"
"Just because this is Liu's pawned car! What right do you have to drive it away!"
“This car is mine!” Wu Changfeng corrected.
Lei Laowan waved his hand: "I don't care whose it is, I only know that I have to pay back my debts!"
Wu Changfeng asked angrily, "I'll give you three hundred for parking fees, open the gate!"
"Damn it!" Lei Laowan felt humiliated and angrily pounded on the car window. "Are you trying to fob me off like a beggar? Do you want to get fucked?"
Wu Changfeng asked timidly, "How much do you want to let me go?"
