"Not as pretty as you." Xiao Ze blurted out as he looked at her shy and timid appearance, his own ears turning slightly red as he finished speaking.
The two stood facing each other, one tall and handsome, the other slender and beautiful. Amidst the snow and plum blossoms, their eyes were locked, their affection deep. Although there were no further intimate gestures, the sweetness and tacit understanding flowing between them was more moving than any words.
Inside the warm pavilion, Shen Yuewei looked at the perfect couple on the corridor through the half-open window. She couldn't help but gently nudge Lin Qingrou beside her with her elbow and whispered with a smile, "Look at them, how well-matched they are! Their tender expressions are much more reserved than ours back then."

At this moment, the "project" of building snowmen in the courtyard seemed to have come to an end. Ning Jie'er and Yan Ge'er, the twins, were bundled up like two round balls, each holding a crookedly shaped snow rabbit they had just made. Their little faces were red from the cold, like two ripe apples. When they saw Xiao Ze and Shen Huaiyu on the corridor, they immediately ran over with cheers.
"Cousin Ze! Cousin Ze, you're here!" Ning Jie'er's voice was clear and crisp, like a cheerful little bird.
"Cousin Ze! Look at my snow rabbit!" Yan Ge'er proudly held up his "masterpiece" like a treasure.
Xiao Ze smiled and bent down, ruffling the heads of the two little ones with one hand each: "Ning-jie'er, Yan-ge'er, you've grown quite a bit taller! The snow rabbit is really well made!" He then magically pulled out two oil paper packets from his sleeve pocket, "Here, pine nut candy and pea flour cake brought from the capital."
"Wow! Thank you, Cousin Ze!" The two cheered, immediately won over by the delicious food.
Shen Huaijin brushed the snow off his clothes and came over, giving Xiao Ze a hearty punch on the shoulder: "Good lad, you've finally arrived! If you hadn't come, my sister would have been waiting forever!"
"Brother!" Shen Huaiyu stomped her foot in embarrassment, her cheeks turning as red as if they were about to bleed.
Looking at his fiancée's shy expression, Xiao Ze's smile deepened. He cupped his hands to Shen Huaijin and said, "Brother Huaijin, how have you been?"
