Shen Zhao's face flushed even more, and she nodded slightly, her voice barely audible: "I saw it..."
“Then…” Lu Qi suddenly stopped and gently tugged at Shen Zhao’s sleeve.
Shen Zhao was startled and stopped in her tracks, looking up at him in a flustered manner: "Brother Lu Qi?"
Lu Qi did not speak immediately, but frowned slightly, his gaze falling on Shen Zhao's hair bun with a hint of "gratitude".
"What's wrong?" Shen Zhao felt uneasy under his gaze and subconsciously raised her hand to touch her hair bun.
Lu Qi suddenly leaned closer, his handsome face magnified before her eyes, carrying the scent of the northern sun. He reached out and gently brushed a soft strand of hair from Shen Zhao's temple, his movements extremely gentle, his fingertips almost brushing against her sensitive earlobe.
Shen Zhao's body tensed instantly, like a frightened little rabbit, holding his breath and not daring to move, feeling as if the place where his fingertips had touched was on fire.
Lu Qi's fingertips lingered on that strand of hair, his brows still slightly furrowed, his tone "serious": "Don't move, Zhao Zhao. There seems to be a small leaf stuck in your hair, let me remove it for you."
"Huh? Oh..." Shen Zhao believed it and stood there obediently, her long eyelashes trembling nervously.
Lu Qi's fingertips "carefully" twirled a strand of hair, as if he were actually cleaning something. His gaze, however, was fixed on Shen Zhao's lips, which were so close to his, trembling slightly with nervousness, as soft as flower petals. The smile and longing in his eyes were almost overflowing.
Just as Shen Zhao thought he had finished cleaning and was about to breathe a sigh of relief—
Lu Qi's head suddenly dropped!
A warm kiss, carrying the refreshing scent of youth, landed swiftly and precisely on Shen Zhao's slightly parted lips, which were filled with surprise!
Like a dragonfly skimming the water, they part ways in an instant!
Time seemed to stand still at that moment.
Shen Zhao felt her mind go blank with a "boom"! The soft, hot touch on her lips was like a brand, instantly spreading throughout her body. Her almond-shaped eyes widened as she stared in disbelief at the handsome face magnified before her, her cheeks instantly turning as red as ripe tomatoes, even her fair neck turning crimson.
Lu Qi quickly took a step back, a triumphant, bright, and slightly mischievous smile on his face, his eyes shining with an astonishing light. He spoke first, his tone "innocent" yet tinged with "annoyance":
"Oh dear! I'm so sorry, Zhao Zhao! It's all my fault for being so careless! I was trying to blow the leaves away for you, but I was too close, and the wind blew... and... and we bumped into each other!" He rubbed his lips with feigned seriousness, as if he were also a "victim," but his eyes were full of sly smiles as he stared intently at Shen Zhao's embarrassed and indignant face. "This time it really wasn't intentional! It was the wind! It dried out!"
"Brother Lu Qi—!" Shen Zhao finally snapped out of her shock and embarrassment. Her eyes were red with anger, and she stomped her feet, her voice trembling with sobs and intense shame and indignation. "You...you lied to me again! Where...where did the wind come from! You...you're so mean!" She couldn't stay any longer. She covered her face, turned around, and ran away like a frightened deer, disappearing quickly into the flower-lined path.
Lu Qi stood there, watching her fleeing figure, and couldn't help but chuckle softly. His fingers unconsciously traced his lips, savoring the fleeting, sweeter-than-expected softness of her touch. Hmm, this "accident" was much more successful than the last! Although he'd angered the little rabbit again… well, he had plenty of little "apologies" to make up for it. He looked in the direction Shen Zhao had disappeared, his eyes filled with a triumphant smile and intense anticipation.
