Chapter 69: The return journey is full of dangers and Xinglan helps to break the dark situation

Lin Yu and his companions, along with Lingxi, finally emerged from the eerie Darkmoon Swamp. The sunlight shone on their tired yet resolute faces, yet none of them could completely relax. Lin Yu walked in front, his eyes still vigilantly scanning the surroundings. Although his weapon was sheathed, it could be quickly drawn at any time. Successfully rescuing Lingxi and completing the mission entrusted by Cangyan should have been cause for celebration, but Lin Yu felt a constant sense of unease, as if a pair of eyes were watching them from behind. "This journey may seem peaceful, but we don't know when that huge conspiracy will erupt. We must not let our guard down," Lin Yu thought to himself. He knew that the Dark Cult's methods were endless and they would never give up easily.

Su Yao supported Lingxi, her steps slightly heavy. The previous battle in the Darkmoon Swamp had drained her of her spiritual energy, leaving her physically weak. But her eyes held a resolute gaze, constantly monitoring Lingxi's well-being while also keeping an eye on the surroundings. "I must get Lingxi safely to Cangyan. No mistakes can be made at this last moment," Su Yao vowed silently. Her hands tightly grasped Lingxi's arm, giving her strength and a sense of security.

Xiao Yi strolled carefree to the side. Though a hint of fatigue wore over his face, his eyes still gleamed with excitement. His blood was still boiling from the recent battle with the black-robed figure. He longed for the next fight, eager to completely annihilate the Dark Cult. "Hmph, those Dark Cult guys! Next time I see them, I'll kill them without a single mortal left!" Xiao Yi muttered to himself, his hand unconsciously tightening around the weapon at his waist, as if ready to take on a new challenge.

Lu Ming remained calm, pushing his glasses up and observing his surroundings with keen eyes. Worry filled his heart. His experience in the Darkmoon Swamp had taught him the enemy's strength and cunning. "We must be cautious along the way. Any small clue could be crucial," Lu Ming reminded himself. He constantly pondered strategies for various emergencies, trying to provide more security for the team.

Lingxi's body gradually regained some strength with the support of Su Yao. Her heart was filled with gratitude and guilt. She was grateful to Lin Yu and others for saving her regardless of the danger, and guilty for causing so much trouble to everyone. "I really thank you. If it weren't for you, I'm afraid I would have fallen into the hands of the Dark Cult." Lingxi said softly, her eyes revealing a hint of self-blame.

Lin Yu turned his head and comforted him with a smile: "Lingxi, you don't have to think like that. We are a team, and we promised Cangyan to save you. This is our common goal. The most important thing now is to send you back safely." Lin Yu's words were like a warm current, warming Lingxi's heart and alleviating her guilt a little.

At this moment, Xing Lan's voice sounded in Lin Yu's mind: "Lin Yu, I detected that the energy fluctuations around us are somewhat abnormal. Although it looks calm on the surface, it may hide danger. We need to be vigilant." There was a hint of seriousness in Xing Lan's voice, which made Lin Yu's heart tighten.

"Everyone be careful, Xinglan has detected possible danger around." Lin Yu immediately told everyone the news. Everyone's expression instantly became nervous. They all tightened their weapons and observed their surroundings vigilantly.

Suddenly, a low roar came from the woods ahead, and then a group of huge monsters covered with black scales rushed out. Their eyes flashed red, and they spewed blazing flames from their mouths, emitting a disgusting odor.

"They're the Darkmoon Swamp monsters. How did they appear here?" Lu Ming said in surprise, his heart filled with doubts. These monsters appeared too suddenly, and their strength seemed not to be underestimated.

Lin Yu responded quickly and shouted loudly: "Everyone maintain the formation, Su Yao protect Lingxi, Xiao Yi and I will be responsible for the attack, and Lu Ming will look for opportunities to set up the formation!" Lin Yu's voice was firm and powerful, which gave everyone a backbone in an instant.

Su Yao immediately put up a defensive shield and protected Lingxi behind her. Her hands trembled slightly, but her eyes were extremely firm. "Lingxi, don't be afraid, I will protect you." Su Yao said softly, increasing her spiritual power output to try to resist the monster's attack.

Lin Yu used the "Five-Colored Phantom Spirit Technique", and the colorful light merged with the power of the water element to form a series of water arrows, which shot towards the monsters. The water arrows drew arcs in the air and hit several monsters, but the scales of these monsters were very hard, and the water arrows did not cause much damage to them.

Xiao Yi brandished his weapon, roared, and rushed forward, engaging in close combat with the monster. His attacks were swift and fierce, but the monster was also very powerful. Xiao Yi gradually lost the upper hand in the battle with them, and several more wounds were added to his body.

"Damn, these guys are too powerful!" Xiao Yi gritted his teeth and shouted loudly, his heart filled with anger and unwillingness.

Lu Ming quickly arranged the formation. His hands gestured rapidly in the air, and mysterious runes flashed, gradually forming a huge formation. However, the monsters seemed to sense Lu Ming's intentions and rushed towards him, trying to destroy the formation.

"Lin Yu, I need some time to complete the formation. You and Xiao Yi help me block these monsters!" Lu Ming shouted loudly, his forehead covered with sweat and his expression was very nervous.

When Lin Yu and Xiao Yi heard Lu Ming's words, they immediately adjusted their tactics. They cooperated with each other and fought hard to resist the attacks of the monsters to buy time for Lu Ming.
