Chapter 23 Small Business

Lao Yue is now willing to run errands for Li Cheng.

The place Li Cheng asked Lao Yue to go was the largest electronics market in the city.

But the most popular items sold here now are pagers, followed by digital mobile phones. Analog mobile phones are still available, but obviously not many.

By this time, the price of pagers had plummeted, to the point where you could get one for free after paying a service fee. Analog cell phones still had a market, but few were interested.

The hottest sellers at this time are digital mobile phones. Regardless of the brand, there are always people standing in front of the counter.

Li Cheng came here two days ago and also looked at these digital phones which he thought were too bulky.

Li Cheng knew that 1999 was a year of great changes.

As far as means of communication are concerned, digital mobile phones will take over the world.

But Li Cheng came here not to check his phone, but to look at his computer. However, the computer at this time made him furious.

The big-headed machine, the bulky case, and the snail-speed processor immediately made him think about investing in a computer in a few years.

Li Cheng came to the electronics city for another reason: to find a place that could manufacture door-closing alarms. Finally, Li Cheng met a man in a computer repair shop.

Li Cheng thought he looked familiar, but this man seemed to be indifferent to Li Cheng.

Li Cheng couldn't remember who this person was. He looked at his deserted shop and said, "I want to discuss business with you."

After saying that, Li Cheng pointed to the words "electronic accessories" written on the window glass of his shop.

This person looked at Li Cheng, probably thinking that Li Cheng was too young and even if he had business, it would not be a big business.

So, the man said, "The shop only does wholesale, and the retail business turns left."

Are you so arrogant? There's no one in your shop!

Li Cheng smiled and said, "This deal is huge, but the requirements are also very high. If you can take it, 100,000, 200,000, or even 1 million is not a problem. It all depends on your ability."

When the man heard this, he looked Li Cheng up and down, then said sarcastically, "Are you bragging? I have the ability, but it depends on what kind of business you are in."

Li Cheng didn't care. He just looked around his shop. Finally, he looked at the computers and the messy accessories on the counter and said, "Just looking at the look of your desk, I guess you're not someone who can do big things. Goodbye."

After saying that, Li Cheng turned around and was about to leave. The man was not happy about this and stopped him, saying, "Just explain it clearly. What's wrong with me? Just say that I'm not someone who can do big things."

Li Cheng said, "Your shop isn't big, the location isn't great, and the service isn't great either. Also, if you want to repair computers, just do it. Why make such a mess on the table? If others see it, they'll definitely doubt your skills."

The man was stunned by what Li Cheng said, thinking, isn't that what computer repair is like? It's normal to be a little messy!

Li Cheng added, "A person who cares about the world will always be well-organized and humble. Someone as arrogant as you will only be able to run this small shop for the rest of his life."

After saying that, Li Cheng was about to leave.

The man was even more unwilling and pulled Li Cheng, saying, "You are here to cause trouble today, right? Explain yourself clearly, otherwise, don't even think about leaving."

Li Cheng smiled, then turned around and sat on the dirty chair.

The man stood opposite Li Cheng, looking at him in confusion. He really couldn't figure out what this young man was trying to do today.

When Li Cheng was looking at the man's shop, he had already seen the business license and the name on the table. Seeing the name, Li Cheng remembered why he saw the man's face.

So, Li Cheng said some words to this person that seemed incomprehensible to others.

This man is famous for his arrogance, but he is the founder of the first computer company in Weizhou City.

But because this person was too arrogant, his computer company eventually went bankrupt in the tide of computer companies all over the world.

Li Cheng planned to rebuild him, starting with breaking down his arrogance.

Li Cheng sat in the chair without saying a word, and the man became anxious. He looked at Li Cheng, but didn't know where to start.

Li Cheng was right. Someone with the world in their heart must be well-organized and humble. But he had a bad temper, and his skills were among the best in this electronics city, so it was okay for him to be a little arrogant.

However, my business here is really not good. They only give me the work that their peers can't handle. And I rarely have customers coming in.

The business was done like this, and although I made a lot of money, it didn't seem like a big deal.

This gentle young man speaks in a provocative way, but he also seems like someone who can get things done.

"What do you do?" the man asked.

"I work in a bank," said Li Cheng.

When he heard the word "bank", the man knew that Li Cheng must have some business.

Banks were among the first institutions to use microcomputers. If you can do their business, you will naturally make money.

"What do you want from me?"

After hearing this, Li Cheng knew why his business had decreased.

"Boss, I'm here to discuss business. Shouldn't you pour me a glass of water and offer me a cigarette?"

The man looked at the smiling Li Cheng, poured a glass of water, and said to Li Cheng: "I don't smoke, how about I go buy a pack."

Li Cheng smiled and said, "I don't smoke either."

The man was stunned and thought to himself, are you looking for a beating?

Li Cheng continued, "When you open a business, you treat your customers like gods. You greet them with a smile, serve them tea, and all you want is money. But you act like a big shot, so who would care about you?"
