Chapter 84 A Strange World

Hou Wenjie felt that long-lost feeling of weightlessness again.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself sitting on a sofa.

A football match is playing on the television on the wall.

The memories flowing through his mind quickly established Hou Wenjie's understanding of the world.

This is a rather abnormal world.

The original owner's mother committed suicide by overdosing on pills when he was very young.

On the seventh day after his mother's death, he was lying in bed at night when he was suddenly awakened for no apparent reason.

Just as he was about to open his eyes, he heard a rustling sound outside the bedroom door.

Back then, his old home had a cement floor. Because the old house was quite old, the floor was uneven and full of potholes. When people walked on it in slippers, it would make that kind of sound.

Then he heard the sound coming from outside the door, moving inside, and finally reaching the bedside.

At that time, the original owner was only nine years old and was still a child.

He was terrified that his mother would take him away.

He closed his eyes tightly, and after a long time, he heard the rustling sound fade away.

He kept this matter deep in his heart and told no one.

When my mother was 49 years old, swirling winds rose in the open space in front of his house, but no winds were seen in front of any other house.

The original owner's father told him that it was his mother saying goodbye to him.

Later, he studied hard, learned the knowledge in the textbooks, and believed in science.

But the shadow of that night still lingered in his mind.

As time went on, he himself couldn't even figure out whether that night was a dream or if he really heard the "rustling" sound.

The summer after his mother passed away, during his summer vacation, he went to visit his maternal grandmother.

His aunt took him to a ditch behind the village and used a net with foam floats to catch crayfish.

He and his aunt secured pieces of pig lung to the bottom of the net cage. Once they were sure it was secure, they used a bamboo pole with an iron hook attached to the end to lower the cage into the water.

Before long, they had harvested half a bucket of lobsters.

He was responsible for catching the lobsters and putting them into the bucket, while his aunt was responsible for carrying the bucket.

His aunt even jokingly reminded him to be careful not to get his hand pinched by a lobster.

Back then, my aunt's smile was so beautiful and so gentle.

In the original owner's memories, his aunt's smiles remain vivid, as if they were branded deep within his soul.

However, when my aunt used a bamboo pole to lift another cage net, she suddenly cried out "Ah!" and fell backward to the ground.

In the original owner's memory, her aunt's gaze towards the water was filled with fear.

The original owner also looked into the water. He vaguely saw something that looked like a human face, followed by black, hair-like water plants.

The thing lingered in his gaze for a very short moment, and then disappeared.

My aunt went insane after that.

My grandmother cried her heart out that day. After that, she started eating vegetarian food and chanting Buddhist prayers, and she became very eccentric.

Then one day, my aunt got lost, and no one knew where she went.

When the original owner was in middle school, his grandmother no longer recognized him.

Later, the original owner's academic performance was not ideal, so he learned excavator operation and became an ordinary working person.

A while ago, a big businessman from out of town invested in building a large flower garden in the town.

He also participated in the project.

While he and his companion Xiao Wang were digging on a barren slope, Xiao Wang unexpectedly unearthed a large python.

The python looked incredibly ferocious; after being dug out, it actually crawled straight towards Xiao Wang's driver's cab.

Xiao Wang was also shocked when he saw this. He quickly operated the excavator and chopped the giant python in two. Not satisfied, he chopped the python several more times.

Only when the python stopped moving did he begin to feel a sense of lingering fear. He tried to calm his breathing, took out a cigarette, and lit it himself.

Then he tossed one to the original owner.

Xiao Wang took a long drag on his cigarette before saying, "I never expected to find such a big guy in a place like ours, and this thing is really fierce!"

The original owner did not reply at the time because when Xiao Wang was speaking, he saw a faint black mist that seemed to be floating quickly from the python toward the two of them.

He rubbed his eyes, but saw no more black mist, as if it were just a hallucination caused by excessive tension.

Hou Wenjie carefully recalled the original owner's memories.

Just then, a cell phone rang, and he picked it up and answered it.

It was a call from foreman Li Le.

"Hey, Xiao Hou, something's happened to Xiao Wang. He died suddenly at home."

Foreman Li Le's voice was urgent, "Are you alright?"

Hou Wenjie's heart sank: "I'm fine. Wasn't Xiao Wang perfectly healthy? How could he suddenly die?"

Li Le gave a wry smile: "Things are a bit strange. His house is right next to his cousin's house, which is under construction. He's using his cousin's kitchen to cook."

At that time, he went back to his old house to get money to go out and buy some snacks to go with his drinks.

His wife cooked rice and vegetables in his cousin's kitchen, waiting for his meat dishes to be cooked, but he didn't come back.

The people who helped build his house had all finished work and returned home, but they hadn't seen him yet. His wife called him, but when the call went through, no one answered!

His wife called several times, but no one answered, so she started to panic, fearing that something had happened to him.

Finally, he was found in the bedroom of the old house.

When his wife opened the door, she saw him lying on the floor, his eyes wide open and lifeless.

His wife was also terrified. Ugh! This is so eerie!

…I also remembered that it was unlucky for you to kill that giant python before…I was afraid something might happen to you too.

Thank goodness, I was just overthinking it!

"Yes, I'm fine," Hou Wenjie replied.

The two exchanged a few more words and then ended the call.

Little Wang is dead! Hou Wenjie sighed, thinking to himself that perhaps the original owner hadn't been mistaken before; it wasn't an illusion.

Close your eyes and concentrate.

In that stream flowing with memories, Hou Wenjie actually saw a python made of black mist.

The python had deep red eyes, its head turned, and its body writhed; it seemed to want to pollute the entire stream.

While in the stream, Hou Wenjie's spirit transformed into a human, and with a wave of his hand, the black python was in his grasp.

Despite the black python's fierce struggles, it was all in vain.

With a powerful grip, Hou Wenjie, in his spiritual form, crushed the black python in two. The python's head half let out a defiant roar, and the red light in its eyes faded.

Hou Wenjie had thought that the python formed from the black light would soon be washed away and fall apart by the stream of memories.

But soon he realized he was wrong.

The two halves of the python quickly rejoined, and the red light returned to its vertical pupils.

However, this red light seemed to be connected to his spirit.

"I can control it." This thought naturally came to Hou Wenjie's mind.

As soon as he had a thought, the python crouched down in the direction of his thought.

After dealing with the hidden dangers in his body, Hou Wenjie immediately thought of a problem.

Xiao Wang is dead. What happened to the black mist that drifted into his body? Could that thing have come out of Xiao Wang's body and entered someone else's body?

With that in mind, Hou Wenjie didn't hesitate much, got on his bicycle, and arrived at Xiao Wang's house.

At the gift register, I gave a gift of 300.

Finally, they arrived at the ice coffin containing Xiao Wang's remains.

With a thought, Hou Wenjie sent a wisp of black energy, invisible to others, into Xiao Wang's head.

Hou Wenjie felt as if this mass of black energy had become another pair of eyes for him.

He saw a python coiled in the acupoint in Xiao Wang's brain that seemed to connect to nothingness.

At the same time, Xiao Wang's closed eyes suddenly opened.
