◇ 【139】 Demonic Cultivation Technique

◇ 【139】 Demonic Cultivation Technique

Zhang Muheng stood there silently, motionless, and soon his face became swollen.

"I just wanted to burn a stick of incense for Youyao...I am sorry for her."

"She doesn't need it!" Father Gao stepped forward to support Mother Gao, his hand trembling as he pointed at Zhang Muheng. "If you really feel guilty, why don't you just die? A life for a life!"

Zhang Muheng lowered his head slightly and did not argue.

Gao Zuoqiong walked over slowly, speaking indifferently from his pale lips, "Zhang Muheng, please go away. Our family doesn't want to see you again. Seeing you will only bring pain to our family! I was stupid before, thinking of you as everything to me. From now on, we have no relationship!"

Zhang Muheng looked at her pale little face, opened his mouth, but couldn't say anything. He stretched out his hand and then put it down, then turned and left.

Gu Juan and the others couldn't help if they stayed, so they left the Gao family.

Gu Juan had previously been able to relax because she had asked Liang Yuntang for leave, but now she had to continue attending classes. Xi Lang would be taking care of Zhang Muheng for the time being.

Two days later, Zhang Muheng appeared in front of everyone again.

Gu Juan told him that he had become a demon cultivator and asked him what his plans were.

Zhang Muheng said: "Cultivate the devil."

Gu Juan still had to say what he needed to say, "Cultivating demons will advance faster than cultivating immortals, but cultivating demons tests one's state of mind more than cultivating immortals."

Zhang Muheng nodded.

Xi Lang said, "Xiao Juan and I don't have any magic cultivation techniques. The most important thing right now is to help Mu Heng find a suitable technique."

"Where to find it?" Xi Cong asked.

Gu Juan and Xi Lang discussed this issue and said, "We can only go to Shenlong Feishan to have a look."

Gu Yinyin was shocked. "Shenlong Feishan? Didn't you say that Shenlong Feishan is full of dangers and that anyone who goes there is in danger of death?"

Zhang Muheng didn't want to put everyone at risk because of his own affairs. "Let's think of other ways. I can try to find a demon cultivation sect with a better reputation to join."

Gu Juan shook his head. "It's not that easy. Sects usually have certain conditions for accepting disciples. And we don't have any connections in the world of cultivation, not even anyone to recommend us."

"Or, use something to exchange for a cultivation technique from the demonic sect?" Li Ruicheng suggested.

Xi Lang looked around at the group, his tone serious, "You haven't truly grasped the plight of cultivators today. No sect would be willing to pass on the cultivation techniques they rely on to survive." Zhang Muheng and his companions were simply lucky to have met Xiao Juan, who provided them with the right cultivation techniques and never had to worry about the elixirs and weapons they needed. Without this opportunity, who knows what their fate would have been in the world of cultivation. Xi Lang increasingly felt that Xi Cong and his companions' paths to cultivation were too smooth, which was not conducive to their future cultivation. He decided that once they entered the fasting period, he would expel them all and let them explore the world on their own.

Zhang Muheng asked, "When are we going? I'll go with you."

Gu Juan smiled and said, "No need. Shenlong Feishan is full of dangers. Too many people will be detrimental to the operation. The old man and I will go when the time comes."

Xi Lang also nodded, leaving no room for doubt.

Zhang Muheng was powerless and could only give up. He said apologetically, "Alang, Xiao Gu, I have to make you worry again."

"We're friends." Gu Juan smiled. Although Zhang Muheng was a bit of a jerk in handling his emotions, he was a man of his word. Neither he nor Xi Lang wanted to leave this friend behind.

Remembering what his mentor had said today, he patted Xi Lang's leg and said, "Old man, first find a way to find the location of Shenlong Feishan. Tomorrow I will go to Yuezhou with my mentor to attend an exchange meeting. It will take at least a week."

"When are we leaving?" Xi Lang held his hand.

"The flight is at 7 o'clock in the morning." Gu Juan said.

Xi Lang smiled, "Is your tutor willing to buy a plane ticket?" In the past, when Liang Yuntang went to other places for medical consultations, to the countryside or to attend meetings, he always bought train tickets and was reluctant to buy plane tickets.

Gu Juan also smiled. His mentor was always forthright in his work, but he was stingy with his daily expenses. He had originally provided Liang Yuntang with a research grant, but Liang Yuntang had always been frugal, completely absorbed in his studies. He was truly admirable.

"The air tickets this time were provided by the sponsor of the exchange meeting."

Xi Lang happily made a decision, "If there are any exchange meetings or the like in the future, tell me and I'll sponsor your plane tickets."

"Okay." Gu Juan curled his lips.

When Xi Cong and others saw that the two of them were unconsciously showing their affection again, they all said that they were blinded by the scene and scattered like birds and beasts. Those who needed to leave said goodbye, and those who needed to go back to their rooms went back to their rooms.

The next day, Gu Juan got up early and rushed to the airport.

Liang Yuntang and Wu Yu saw that it was the man with extraordinary temperament who sent him off again, and they secretly sighed that it was really rare for two men to be so loving to each other.

Having known Gu Juan for a long time, they had long known that Gu Juan was married to a man.

Xi Lang said hello to Liang Yuntang, told his family to be careful, and left. He also had his own things to do.

Gu Juan took out two small snack boxes from the plastic bag in his hand, "Teacher, Wu Yu, have you had breakfast? This is a homemade egg roll pancake, it tastes good. Try it?"

Wu Yuxian took a small food box and said playfully, "I've eaten, but I have to honor the egg roll pancake that my idol brought."

Liang Yuntang also took the food box and said with a smile: "Since Xiao Wu said so, I'll try it too."

As soon as the lunch box was opened, the passengers waiting for the flight nearby couldn't help but look over.

Gu Juan had been in the space for so long that he'd fully utilized it. Not only were the eggs and cilantro used in the omelet made from the space, but the ham was also made from pigs raised there, and even the flour was made from wheat grown there. Coupled with Xi Lang's excellent craftsmanship, the omelet was incredibly delicious, its golden color tinged with the red of the ham and the green of the chives, making it mouth-watering just by looking at it.

The egg rolls were cut into small rolls of equal size and neatly arranged in the food container. Wu Yu, a girl, didn't care about her appearance and ate one first, chewing it quickly for a few times. Before she could swallow it, she couldn't wait to pick up the second one and gave Gu Juan a thumbs up, "Delicious, much better than the egg rolls you buy at the breakfast shop."

Liang Yuntang also praised it highly.

"Did you make this?" Wu Yu asked. She was thinking about whether she should find an opportunity to go to Gu Juan's house for a meal in the future. With such good cooking skills, other dishes would surely be delicious.

Gu Juan shrugged, "I can make it, but it's not as delicious as Xi Lang's."

Liang Yuntang finished another egg roll and said, "Well, Xiao Gu, if you're short on study time in the future, you can always ask Xi Langduo to bring you food."

Wu Yu nodded repeatedly.

Gu Juan was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. After thinking for a while, he said, "How about this. After I come back from the exchange meeting, I will invite you and Wu Yu to my house for dinner." Liang Yuntang is a respectable teacher, and Wu Yu is also a good friend. It is not a bad thing to deepen their relationship.

Liang Yuntang nodded, with an expression of approval that showed that the boy was teachable.

Three hours later, Gu Juan, Liang Yuntang and Wu Yu arrived in Yuezhou.

Guangdong, located near the Tropic of Cancer, boasts much higher temperatures than in China and bright sunshine. People wear light clothing, and even the most stylish girls don beautiful summer dresses. Walking down the street, you'll find a vibrant array of beautiful people everywhere.

After settling down in the hotel, the three of them went to the restaurant downstairs for lunch and then returned to their room to rest.

At 2 p.m., the exchange meeting officially began. This national event, held at the Provincial People's Hospital, attracted over 300 participants, many of whom were familiar faces in medical journals, and some of whom occasionally appeared in the news.

The neatly dressed staff guided the participants to their seats one by one. Everything seemed to be in order and the atmosphere in the hall became serious unconsciously.

Wu Yu poked Gu Juan's arm with a pen and whispered, "See? There are so many big names in the medical field."

Gu Juan nodded.

After Liang Yuntang took his seat, he gestured to his two students to sit next to him.

In such an occasion, Gu Juan and Wu Yu had no chance to speak. They only listened in and helped Liang Yuntang take notes. After sitting down, Gu Juan took out his laptop and recorder.

The theme of the exchange meeting on the first day was preventive medicine (disease control). There were many speakers and the meeting lasted until around six in the afternoon. The sun had already set and the lights were coming on.

As soon as he left the hospital, Wu Yu kept complaining about being hungry.

Liang Yuntang smiled and said, "Where do you want to go for dinner? I'll treat you today."

His rare generosity made Gu Juan and Wu Yu smile at each other.

Gu Juan said, "There are many delicious foods in Yuezhou. If the teacher is not tired, why don't we go to the food court to eat."

Liang Yuntang and Wu Yu had no objection.

A few people stopped a taxi. The driver was very familiar with Yuezhou. When they mentioned the food street, he said he knew it without hesitation and started chatting with them enthusiastically in his awkward Mandarin.

The city at night is just as lively as during the day. Under the star-studded night lights, the endless stream of cars, the graceful steps of beautiful women, and the vibrant and upbeat music are a feast for the eyes and ears.

The food court has a well-organized layout, with shops neatly arranged along the intersection. While each snack bar is small, they are all well-decorated, clean, and very popular. Because of the high customer volume, folding tents—square, round, and five-petal flower-shaped—are set up in front of the shops, adding a touch of fun.

Tempting aromas fill the air, and the sheer variety of delicious food is a feast for the eyes. Local specialties include shrimp dumplings, barbecued pork buns, pot-shaped cakes, boat congee, beef noodles, lotus leaf rice, roast goose, glutinous rice chicken, wonton noodles, and more. There's also a diverse selection of international favorites, including hand-pulled pancakes, octopus balls, oden, malatang (spicy hot pot), barbecue, casserole noodles, and hot and sour noodles. It's hard to choose.

Liang Yuntang sat in front of a porridge shop and refused to move. "I'll just eat some porridge here. You young people have good energy, so take your time to walk around and come to me later to settle your bill."
